You forgot 1 thing.
Read your manual
It clearly says on page 10:
“Run your device once, before cooking ANYTHING with it. This is necessary to clean it before usage and ensure the best cooking possible.”
Press Bake, set the temperature to 450 degrees and time for 20 minutes, then press Start.
You may detect smoke or smell burning during this first cleaning. This is normal and not a sign of a faulty oven.”
Always, always read your manual and don’t ever think that you need to follow TH-cam videos instead of the actual manual.

How do you get the steam bar to lock in place? Mine is still loose. I have spent over two hours trying to lock it in, several times having to dig it out after falling into crevice. I can place in but still moves left to right. Is that ok? Thanks.

Hey! Love your videos and love my Tovala. But you left out the final step of setup where you are supposed to run the oven once, at 450 for 20 minutes, before cooking anything in it. This is to clean any residuals that were left in manufacturing of the oven. Thanks.

Haha, great question! I thought I would end up taking one to the office and leaving one at home. However... I ended up keeping both of them next to each other. Worked out great actually. I can prep roasted broccoli while warming up some pizza or random other combinations of food!

Our family is so busy so hello fresh eventually quit working for us bc usually there is always one or two of us not there at the same time so this has been wonderful for our family we can all make our dinner whenever we are home to eat it and my teens love scanning it lol 13 weeks strong for us with tovala and we love it!!!

I always have to put in the info manually, does it have to be connected to the wifi for the scan feature to work?
Where does this vent the heat from? My current oven vents out the top of the door and it sucks.
Can you microwave anything in it? It says it reheats, but what about warming up water in a cup like a regular microwave?

When adding water to the reservoir the plastic ring around the water bottle fell into the reservoir. Afraid could damage the over, cause a fire, or leak plastic into my food. Thanks!

you are suppose to run oven 20 minutes on bake at 400 degrees before cooking food. To sterilize and cook the coatings. Tovala did have a special of $50 for oven which is a great deal for a convection oven and air fryer.
I used my Tovala oven for the first time today and the oven wouldn't scan the QR code.
Can you cook frozen food from grocery store
Jack that’s a great question! The answer is yes anything you can otherwise cook in the oven, a toaster oven, or even a steamer type of oven, you can cook in a tovala. The only thing it’s not, is a microwave. In addition to that the Tovala comes pre-programmed to be able to scan over 600 off-the-shelf boxed foods and prepare it based on the recipe that the box suggests. I’m actually going to put this on the list to do as a follow up video in the next few weeks. I’m going to pick some of my favorite and some of the most popular foods that are programmed into tovala system, buy them and make a video of us prepping them and taste testing! Question - When cooking two meals at once, does the oven know that there are two portions and self adjust, or is this something you have to do when setting up your meal?
Nope. This is one of the dumbest things I've seen. Dude is paying 12 bucks for chicken brrast and potatoes. Some broccoli? Steak is 17? For a 6 ounce petite sirloin??
Here is the worst part....it doesn't cook it right! No Sautee. No chance for nice bark. No chance for even protein, as bottom and top are cooked different.

My understanding is that you can only cook two of the same meals at the same time. Not two different meals.
Is the food frozen? I chose June because delivery food scares me but I haven’t unboxed it yet.
No, but it arrives cold and you refrigerate.

Great job Jason- love your video ! I actually unboxed mine before I watched your video - I had to laugh to myself because I did everything that you did by dumping the oven upside down to get it out of the box and styrofoam etc. I am excited to try it out tonight. I did order those Beef bulgogi tacos - I think they are on the menu in a couple weeks.

Yes, for a period of time. But that’s the whole point for me. I don’t have time to cook for myself so I don’t eat well. Hopefully this will be great!
Why do the tovala oven get really hot in the back.
Instructions not clear on steam insert. Should you seethe word steamer or just line of holes? Thx.
The quick start instructions say the word steamer should face you. Just drop it in the back inside the oven.
I'm having trouble inserting that steamer cover also. I don't think it's very clear

TV dinners for the modern age
I think that was very informative. In fact, I wish I had taken a look at that video when I got my own Tovala. But there is one area where you are mistaken. When you scan a recipe, or hit the cook button after pulling up a meal in the app, none of that knowledge is actually built into the oven. What it does instead is use that barcode to pull up the instructions for that particular meal from a database that the chefs keep maintained at all times. In fact, one of the support people told me that the programming only lasts for the duration of the meal, and it gets deleted there after. Also, when you scan something, you have 15 minutes to press the start button, or it goes away. Also taken mind the safety features. What made me feel right at home is that there is very little chance of someone accidentally turning on the oven remotely, because you have to actually be there to press the start button on the oven itself. There is no start button within the app. So I would argue that it’s also one of the safest ovens around.

@@KeyzLife it's going to live with my stepmother in the house (I live in the garage flat)...she's not much on prepping, cooking or cleaning so she wanted to try it out..whereas I'm a home chef that loves to prep & cook, but hey, why not try it? I'll just pop over & play with our new "EZ bake, steam, broil, toast" oven..lol (I also do 90% of her shopping for her)
