  • The “money talk” happened pretty early in our relationship but we had A LOT more to discuss as husband and wife. We talk about how we budget our money, how we save and what sacrifices we had to make for each other when it came to finances - did Mikael really pay for Megan’s debt?
    LOADED QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
Is it okay to hide big expenses from your partner rather than fight about it?

I really appreciate the laidback vibe and the openness in discussing money and the shame that comes with overspending. It's a cultural thing for us Filipinos not to discuss finances so openly kasi, "nakakahiya", or "bastos" pag-usapan in public, but I find that talking about it with such honesty and practicality is much more helpful than shying away from it. It seems I've found a new podcast to look forward to!

Megan explained it clear and easy for everyone afraid of budgeting.
It's cute how she made it into such a manageable small amount for everyone to easily grasp and understand. Tapos the way that they divided the amount into each sub-category is realistic too in terms of percentage. Thank you for such amazing informative content!!! We all need more of this in our lives.

My partner and I also did the same, with the 2 accounts thing. But the thing is, there are times that we need used the savings account on something because that account is the accessible at that time. What we did now is to open a joint account so all savings will go there, and we can use both other account on the expenses (non-avoidable and avoidable) and it's going well. We we're never tempted to use that account since it is not linked to any apps or purchases. Thanks tho for highlighting that SAVINGS should go to the NON-AVOIDABLE EXPENSES.

In a relationship it is important that you discussed and agreed on how you will handle your finances coz sometimes money becomes the reason for couple separation. I'm happy to know that you already have your system when it comes to your finances. Sharing your thougths and experiences can be an eye opener to others who are planning to get married. ❤

Totally #Salute to this couple. Couple goals talaga! Were going through the same process, it's a bit awkward explaining to my fiancee and I'm so thankful to this video. This summarizes everything and let her realize na lahat ng mga sinabi ko nuon ay hindi para punain lang ang ginagawa nya but instead, preparation pra sa future namin :). Salamt guys! keep it up and more power!
