I find these ancient collections of wisdom and knowledge and training, absolutely fascinating. So often they wrap up all of the best and the worst of our experiences. Deep understandings from mystical traditions and rancid superstition. all mixed together in a heady cocktail.

Cocktail is a good word for how these texts can read. Thank goodness for good scholarship to help tease out at least some of the ingredients! 🙏

At around 44:00, you discuss prayers with strange angel names, with no key to how they combine three languages and compression techniques. The result reads to us like gibberish. Imagine centuries from now trying to comprehend the Ars Metivia! Combining references to metal bands, names of teachers and friends, English, German, Mandarin, Sanskrit...

Great point - and all the more reason to double down on the theory rather than the examples. 🙏

The reason they were pushing back is because Solomon used black magic, he had a ring and bound many demons to it as an army; the queen of England had pictures taken wearing the ring along with a Pharonic whip, it is also the same ring depicted in the lord of the rings; the real ring also has an engraving that says "one ring to rule them all".

Hi, how are you? does the book really work, i.e. are there entities that can help you to understand everything you want? what negative consequences can there be with this? thank you.

Would you recommend Skinners version or this version if you aren’t interested in the history? Is the translation on its own still better?

I haven't read the Skinner version, so cannot say.

I think the word "propaganda" was coined by the catholic church to give a name to activities that propagated loyalty to the Roman church as opposed to the protestant churches.
