Lol, that was funny the way the light-kit was spinning really fast at 0:03, it would look awesome with colored light-bulbs in the light-kit and having them lightened up while the light-kit spinning really fast at the same time. :D
Did you have it running on updraft before this happened? I know it's on downdraft mode in this video, but if it was on updraft, the downrod-to-motor coupler could be loose, causing the motor shaft to unscrew itself from downrod-to-motor coupler and having motor shaft separate from downrod-to-motor coupler causing the motor to fall and land on the bottom part of the housing, allowing the switch housing and lights to be able to spin.
i just got the same almost same problem. in mine the lamp starts to spin in opposite direction than fan. Did you find how to fix it? this started when i swithed the direction of fan rotation to see if it cools the room better, now it spins the lamp too.
The screws from the downrod-to-motor coupler to the motor shaft is loose. In almost all cases, the direction that doesn't cause the light to spin would cool the room better.
Yeah! Though the truth is that the motor shaft must have broke, causing the motor to sit in the housing and be stuck while the shaft can spin freely until the wires are twisted.
I'll prove you wrong. You can see part of the picture in the background and it stays the same. Also you can see that the chain did swing when the lights spun. It is possible, when the motor shaft breaks, causing the motor to sit in the housing, and making the motor stuck, and allowing the motor shaft to spin freely until the wires twist too much.
The motor shaft could had been damaged in shipping causing the motor to sit on the housing, making the motor stuck and the shaft to spin freely until the wires become twisted.
The motor shaft either somehow broke, or it somehow unscrewed from the downrod-to-motor coupler, causing the motor to sit on the bottom part of the housing.
If your fan is a hugger, then remove the motor housing and make sure that the motor is tightened properly on the mounting bracket. The motor should not sit on the housing. If your fan is not a hugger, it's likely defective, just return it and get a new one. If you can't return it to get a new one, open the motor housing and you'll see that the shaft is broken. You could try to weld it together.
I wonder if the wood glows if you turn on the lights
Fase Rain OMG I'm dying xD

Hey dude, a guy on Vine is using this video to get views. claiming he did this earlier this year. His account is Uncle Random. He blocked me.
Don't worry, Vine is failing and will soon shut down, and so will his content
It's all going to be okay friends
And thus random has fallen along with his long dead favoured platform

@@cromagnon305 Maybe the motor shaft got damaged in shipping.

Under rated pun
If you put different colored light bulbs in that you could turn your living room into a club. Invest in an alcohol license for 2011 lol
@fgfgd2 You can still buy it. The brand is Hunter and the model is Augusta. Just search it and you'll find one quickly.
So do the blades light up?

oh wow ! lol. I 've never seen that happen before.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!
Someone didn't install this correctly...
More like, the motor shaft was either defective, or the set screw on the motor shaft was loose before.
Let's see it with the lights on in the dark!
Ughhh I say it's time for a new ceiling fan
Random Ques, whos here 2024?

You had one job...
???? what the hell XDDDDDDD
ha!! it is mischief at all.
Well, what happened?
I can understand the lightspinning backward to unwind the wires twisted up.
The motor shaft likely got wrecked, probably in shipping. Making the motor sit on the housing, and the shaft to spin freely until wires get twisted.
Its not that the lights are spinning around, its the entire room and the fan spinning really fast around the lights!
Yeah! Though the truth is that the motor shaft must have broke, causing the motor to sit in the housing and be stuck while the shaft can spin freely until the wires are twisted.
So dangerous. The light bulbs can fall off.
is it sad that it took like 6 seconds for me to figure out what was wrong?
lol
HOLY SHIT!
ceiling fan your doing it wrong
I want one.
HELL NO!
I know how to do that you just installed the down rod wrong but any way DISCO YAAAA xD

wow ~
why is the light spinning instead of fan?
That's what makes it crazy
The motor shaft must have broken off
And it makes the motor sit on the housing, and the shaft to spin freely until the wires get twisted.
It's a UFO
