Just FYI, the red fluid from the trunk hydraulic system should be AeroShell 41 and not ATF. They are both red but have completely different properties. If your trunk hydraulics need topping up you should use AeroShell 41 and not ATF. Not sure if using ATF to top up as you have done has made the leak worse.
thanks. I use the Mercedes Auto transmission fluid, cannot get that Shell oil. The MB one works very well though, hardly drops in level in many years. In terms of the leak, well that might be true, not sure. So its not ATF, interesting. thanks

How did you get sound after you unplugged them ? Did you use a fiber optic loop in their place while testing ?
