I've been a planner-user since the old days of DayRunner Perennials in the early 90's...this is the best First Steps video I've seen yet. You're clear, concise, and offer so many helpful points for all kinds of styles of planner-people.
ayyeeee can you do a how to be consistent video because i always give up on something halfway (like stop using a planner after a few days oops) 😅😅 side note you're everyone's (or almost everyone's) lifesaver if i didn't tell you before HEHS
for me, something that really helps is investing money in it. obviously that's not an option for everyone, but I bought a really nice moleskine notebook for my bullet journal, so it kind of guilts me into using it because otherwise I would have just completely wasted my money. also it just makes me enjoy using it because it's kind of like a special treat!

I found that buying a nice notebook (for me it was the LT1975) and a set of nice pens (20 pack of staedler fine liners) really helped motivate me to use my BuJo bc I knew I would feel SUPER crappy if I let all that money go to waste. I also recommend keeping it cute! Washi tape, decorative paperclips, page flags, and things like that often make me more excited to use my planner, it also makes it a bit less overwhelming when it's aesthetically pleasing (or so I've found). I use this notebook every single day (which is unheard of for me). I know this route isn't always feasible for some but 98% of my stationary is from the dollars section in Target, and Michaels is always having sales!! It doesn't necessarily have to break the bank. These two tips really helped for me! I hope they do for you too.

I'm so glad the drug store that my mom works in provide employees a two-year planner. It's almost 2018 and I'm so glad this planner that came from the drug store includes a 2017, and 2018 calendar, even 2016! The drugstorr is Mercury Drugstore and yes, it's only on the Philippines.
I find bullet journal's such a creative and cute way to express yourself,unfortunately I suck at that, but watching other's people bullet journal's is so inspiring!
I went to dollar general and found a 2 dollar planner for 2017-2018 in many cute colors. It has the calendar before the weekly planner. I think it will work nice
Me too It's July 2018 and I'm like "damn I want a planner" but I saw a really nice one that starts in August and goes until December 2019 so I suggest getting one like that if you're in my situation
I really love this video. I also use the colour coding system. It has made it so much easier for me while studying and for my TH-cam channel. I want to try using the note pads you mentioned earlier in the video. I have a couple the I have that I started using at the beginning of the year, but stopped using them after awhile. I should really start using theme again for next year.

However, sometimes, I forgot to put the things like reminders of a deadline, or a quiz, and I also found the post-its to be too small to use, even if I got the bigger square ones. I liked to use markers so I could see the stuff I wrote on the post-it, even from afar, however, my handwriting took up so much space. I couldn't just write everything on the post-its like the time and place for an event. I always had to write in abbreviations or acronyms which I didn't like. And then I found out about Google Calendar in my phone. It has monthly, weekly and daily views, which is just like your planner. The thing that I really like about it is that it has a reminder feature, so I don't always have to check my calendar or worry that I may miss or forget something important. Sadly, I can't make a to-do list with it. I've downloaded ColorNote before but I didn't like its interface. And then I found Google Keep, which is so great because I could take notes with it, make a quick voice recording, but I use it primarily for making checklists or to-do lists. And what's more is that I can make reminders on that app and it would sync with my Google Calendar, so when I open my calendar, I would see all the reminders I made on Google Keep along with the events I scheduled on Google Calendar. Guys, if you're not really into actual planners, or you know that you can't use it as effectively as she does, I suggest you use Google Keep and Google Calendar, or any similar app. They're handy because they'll just be in your phone and now you can take your "planner" anytime, anywhere with you, and they're totally free!!!

I resist it cuz I don't like fir all my business to be out in the Ethernet where any savvy person can get to it and learn so much about me and those I love. That said, I haven't found a planner that works well for me. So I'm gonna try digi again our a combo of the two. A planner for dumping and sorting, a digi calendar for scheduling in iut all in and Keep for tasks. I'm wanna start using Keep for capturing too and see how that works... Wish me luck! ;)

This is really a great video👌🏻! I just got a Studio C planner. My school provides planners for everyone but it's only a daily view JUST for school😭. I loved watching planner videos like yours. The stickers are just adorable and I'd love to decorate each month. There's a monthly/weekly spread(which I love)! I'll be asking my teachers if I can use this planner💫.
If you want a cheaper planner thats customizable, the Staples Arc Planner is what I am using right now and it is nice, you can get paper for it and even buy their (kinda expensive) hole puncher.
I'm so so happy you're currently doing back to school! This is so helpful since I'm starting my second semester of Grade 12 in two weeks! Ugh it's too early :(

Some other brands worth checking out - moleskine, paperchase (if you're in the uk), and Knock Knock 😄 personally I got my planner from etsy, and it suits me perfectly, but took a long time to find. I use that for to dos, and weekly planning, but also use a yearly wall planner and have a second plain page notebook that I use for goals, and long term tracking, a bit like a bullet journal. There are also a lot of pages in there to track my university reading lists 😂

Some other brands worth checking out - moleskine, paperchase (if you're in the uk), and Knock Knock 😄 personally I got my planner from etsy, and it suits me perfectly, but took a long time to find. I use that for to dos, and weekly planning, but also use a yearly wall planner and have a second plain page notebook that I use for goals, and long term tracking, a bit like a bullet journal. There are also a lot of pages in there to track my university reading lists 😂
