    Yeah, I totally agree, this is the best 8 string thanks to the 29.4" scale, 27" is enough for as low as G standard or drop F but not enough for lower tunings, also, 30" is not enough for a 9 string, the C#1 sounds dead, I think that they should come at least with 32" scale.
    And before anyone mentions it, scale length also affects the sound of pitch shifted notes, downshift 2 octaves a standard 25.5" scale guitar and downshift down 1 octave a 30" guitar, both tuned in EADGBE (E0 after the pitch shifting) and listen how much of a difference scale length makes in the sound.

    I use a Quad Cortex and I really love the thing BUT it is awesome to see someone using actual pedals and amp again. Great video man, 100% would watch one with you nerding on strings 😂

      Thanks! Glad to hear! I was able to try out Quad Cortex at Aviator Guitar booth at Euroblast. Sounds great And also compact!! I actually considered it, but in the end decided that I don't want a multiFX/modeler.

    I don't agree with the price range. You can get Schecter that is 28inch, emg808, 8 strings for half the price or even a Schecter C-VI which is 30" scale 6 string @ similar price. The M80M do lack a lot of things for the price range it is in. I still love it, am a Meshuggah fan afterall.

    • @TekatoD
      @TekatoD 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      28 is too short. And EMG808 is active and lame. Schecter C-VI is a 6 string. (I don’t play 6 strings, they are absolutely uncomfortable to my hands). So they are still incomparable to M80M. The only thing that M80M lacks in some people opinion is a neck pickup, but for me it is a plus, because I don’t use it. Instead it packs some actually useful features for an 8 string, like titanium rods, microtuning, locking not - no need to file the nut for any string gauge for example. And I do remind that M80M comes with Lundgren M8. So you get The Sound out of the box without modifying it. For example Schecter 7 strings that come with Lundgren M7 cost around 2.5-2.8k.

      @@TekatoD 28 isn't too short. They used that scale length for TVSOR recording. They use 27" for live now which means the scale never mattered that much. Unless you plan to detune. You can upgrade that Schecter to have Lundgren pickups, locking nut, fine tuning and still be under the price of m80m. Though the locking nut and fine tuning is an overkill for a guitar that doesn't have a whammy.

      @@johannrajan3279Yes, they used shorter ones and guitar sound got worse since they started. The last time I liked their guitar tone without bass was on Onzen. Scale length always mattered and always will, because physics. But they use bass in the same octave that does all the heavy lifting. If you tune that bass octave lower with short guitars - they become worse. To me 28 for feels bad. I don’t know what else to say. I even tried Aristides with 28 and I liked M80M much better.

      @johannrajan3279 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TekatoD Agreed about the bass going an octave lower for their latest album. But for TVSOR the bass is in the same octave. I will think m8m is the menacing looking 8 string ever. But it is just not practical for someone trying to afford. I play a 30" 6 string, which is perfect, I don't solo just the rhythms and leads.

    Great vid man, always love to see the rigs. I assume you've tried somve vst plugins for tone. Any good ones you wish were in pedal forms?

    • @raljarn
      @raljarn  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks a lot! Of course! I think I've tried and used almost all of them. I really like Fortin Nameless - it has the best performance in terms of latency and the most natural feel and response in my opinion. I also used Archetype Gojira a lot - it has a seriously ridiculous amount of gain. I guess that's the red channel of 5150 modelled. But I don't like it that much for the same reason lately:D I don't think I want plugins in pedal from - they are kinda modelled after real hardware already. But I would love to see some Fortin amp in Pedalboard format and probably Lichtlearm as well. Some more affordable compact Rectifier would also be great!

    can you help me? i have a kraken v4, noise gate pylon, rowin noise gate, i dont understand how chain my pylon noise gate witj 4 cables method of pylon and 4 câbles method of kraken

    • @raljarn
      @raljarn  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Basically 4 cable method for an amplifier:
      You run your DI signal through the noise gate for triggering the noise gate into an amplifier input. Then you run your amp fx loop (send return) through your noise gate.
      This is the same for any amplifiers and 4 cable method. The correct names of your noise gate inputs/outputs to use should be in the manual.
      I’m not familiar with your particular noise gate, so I don’t know which names are used for the inputs/outputs
