  • Koyasan, a World Heritage Site.
Koyasan, which was opened by Kukai, the ambassador of Kobo, is a sacred place for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism.
In my own interpretation, "living" was the fundamental teaching.
This time, we will climb Mt. Koya on the stone road where Kukai walked.
    The start is Jisonin.
I was thinking of parking at the roadside station "Kaki no Sato Kudoyama", but I couldn't park my car at the roadside station because of the big harvest festival event.
When I asked the person in charge, there was a free parking lot about 300m away.
    Thank you for using it.
After arriving at Jisonin, the journey from here to Mt. Koya begins.
The town stone road is about 23km away.
It's a long way beyond the distance we've ever walked in a single climb.
However, information that the road is relatively easy to walk.
I challenged with the feeling that I could go.
At first, I am walking smoothly.
I will count the town stones while checking as much as possible.
However, some of the town stones are located a little away from the mountain trail, and I missed several of them as soon as I started walking.
After all it was difficult to walk without missing 180 units.
The information board on the town stone road is solid, so you don't feel like getting lost.
Many people walk, so you can climb with confidence.
However, the distance is still long, and the number of town stones does not decrease easily.
I felt that there was Mt. Koya in the distance.
I managed to reach Daimon, relying on the guide of the town stone.
I started climbing at sunrise, but it's sunset.
I realized that it was difficult to come to Mt. Koya.
From Mt. Koya, go down the mountain by public transportation.
It soon started to get dark.
What surprised me on the way back was that it took a long time to get to Kudoyama station by train.
I'm surprised that I could walk this distance well.
Were we able to practice a little?
When I finished walking, it was Koyasan-cho Ishimichi, which I felt was a very good road both physically and mentally.
