I was lucky enough to find the base game and wrath of the witch king for 200 bucks. I thought it was a lot at the time, but now I know I got a pretty good deal on them.
There was the 2nd edition too. The Advanced Quest which came with the men at arms.
We played this a lot in college because it was so short and most of us were gamers short on time. Last played with family a couple years ago, but I'll be breaking it out again soon.

Loved playing this back in the day.
From what I can remember, the Ogre Horde expansion also gave rules for the Chaos Sorcerer's spells. Wizards of Morcar then introduced henchmen for the heroes, allowing you to hire crossbowmen, halberds, and a couple of others.
White Dwarf even had a couple of adventures. I think one of those introduced Skaven.

I'm slowly getting hold of the white Dwarf issues and may make my own version of the ogre horde. I have the components in pdf form.

Haha yep, it was a fun video to do, the let's play coming soon is great too. This game was my gateway to the hobby
The American version with zargon was considered second edition with changed rules chaos spells for the monsters many more artifacts tougher monsters, the adventures had more monsters in them. the game was called Heroquest Game System. a much harder game
I will try to track down a copy of that version!

I laughed at the part where you doubted this would ever get a rerelease, since I listened to this while painting my rerelease models.

Great video! Over in North America we had the same armory as the UK. The DM screen we had gave a summary of the monsters. I don't think we had the equipment cards though and our first dungeon is The Trial instead of The Maze.

I lost my Hero Quest years ago. I absolutely kick myself over it all the time.
The new one has the same content which could be a replacement? I dont like the new designed miniatures though. I like the quintness of the original ones :D

Loved the video. I have all the uk expansion pack. It cost me a lot for the ogre and wizards of morcar expansion . But worth it. You can still get them on ebay.

The bard would disagree two isn't enough lol.. I remember playing this game back in the day, oh the nostalgia 😀 I remember my mate hold up the Gargoyle the first thing out of my mouth was "that's The Bloodthirster the Greater Daemon of Khorne" the look of confusion from my friend was priceless lol
It was years later (and I mean only a few years ago) that I first saw a Bloodthirster model and said "Thats the Heroquest Gargoyle!"

I had one copy since childhood and I got another in the early 2000s when they weren't that expensive.

Yeah wasn't planned. If I redid this video I would make sure that didn't happen. There can be only one bard.
More copies of hero quest. You want to have so many copies of heroquest people in online forums look at you with glares as if you were trying to corner the market.
This is so poor don’t give up your day job the bard you are definitely not very cringe worthy
