  • Watch as a family of wolves protect their young from a brown bear in the Naliboki forest. In the video you can see the parent wolves and their five pups in their housing area. Suddenly, a brown bear appears nearby the pups, and the parent wolf detects its presence by smelling its tracks. The parent wolves then chase the bear away from the pup location, ensuring their safety.

    Wow, it's just breathtaking! How the wolf makes sharp movements to scare the bear, and how the couple works as a team

    When I read the title, I was like: "Nah they don't. This will be a video about a brown bear digging up a den and eating 5 pups". But fair enough, I was completely wrong. Well done mum and dad!

    great shots. looks like the bear is small, probably a young one and easy to chase away, am I correct?

      I do not think so. We know this bear for five years. I will say that in our region it is a bear of a medium size. The male wolf (the left one) is a relatively huge one.

      Smart wolves I'd say .. They played it right just aggressive enough to scare away the beast. Not foolish enough to actually get physical with the Bear which would have ended very badly for the wolves

    If wolves attack in packs surrounding targets, what can stop them?

    • @jameswalker6864

      Lions. Male lions can stop packs of 25 hyenas. And hyenas are bigger than wolves.

      There's only one place in the world where, in principle, this battle could occur. The Gir forest in India. There lives the Asian lion (a bit smaller than its Afrifan counterpart). And in India there're wolves, but I dunni whether they're also found in the Gir forest.

      @@jameswalker6864 maybe, but no animal does teamwork as good as wolves, also there are packs seen over probably 50 wolves i mean packs like that are literally unstoppable..

      Eurasian wolves sometimes have shorter coats of fur than North American wolves. That's why they look leaner.

    A full grown grizzly/brown bear will usually dominate a pack of wolves when there is something to fight for, such as food. I don't see cubs present here, at least not small cubs that the bear could catch and eat. This was simply the bear avoiding a pointless confrontation, nothing more.
