It's still crazy to me that just a year ago people were calling Byfield a bust. "Bustfield" they said. Dude is 21, and has 41 points in 52 games. He's also 6' 5". Like, that's not even fair. The scariest part is that he's improving with each and every game. If he's this good now, imagine how good he'll be in 2-3 years.
Stats can lie though both in positive and negative ways. Erik Karlsson and Timo Meier BOTH had better stats on an awful sharks team. Johnny Gaudreau looks a bit worse compared to his flames prime but he is also on a worse team. Fabian Zetterlund is having a career year stat wise on a terrible sharks team. Even recently people were hyping Adin Hill like he was the 2nd coming as a goalie and his last 3 games he looked like a backup at best.
What a great way for the Kings to start their home stand. A convincing win, with scoring coming from throughout the entire lineup. They've now won 4 straight, 6 of their last 7, and 5 of 6 since the coaching change. A fantastic turnaround for this team. Dubois and Byfield continue to be the most prominent for the Kings, and I obviously have to mention that Byfield goal. Easily the most impressive goal of his (very) young career, and probably the leading candidate for Goal of the Year. The Kings youth has been a huge factor for their recent success. Just look at the ages of some of the young Kings: Byfield (21), Laferriere (22), Clarke (21), Turcotte (22, turns 23 in a few days). Dubois is only 25 as well. Although, he already has significant NHL experience, but regardless, he's young, and has been critical for the Kings as of late, which was my main point. The only negative thing about this game was Arvidsson's early exit. I hope that him leaving the game after that first shift was just a precautionary measure, and not because of a new injury. I'd hate to see him miss more games.
Lafferiere is a really hardworking rookie who hustles and makes things happen, but he really needs to work on his shooting. He gets so many opportunities on the break-aways but often misses the net. QB made an AMAZING GOAL last night that had me standing up from my couch and screaming! That was one for his sizzle reel for sure!
No mention that DuBois put two away, huh? Maybe it's me, but it seems like he's been just quietly going about his business with no fanfare while people carry on about him being a cancer to teams. Byfield's goal was a beauty for sure, and he's another highly underrated player, but to not even mention that PLD scored two in the description is just wild to me.
Quinton Byfield and the Los Angeles Kings win over Boone Jenner and the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-1 🏒⚫⚪👑 Los Angeles Kings went up to 28-16-10, while the Columbus Blue Jackets fall to 17-27-10
Byfield has been a force this season. Always had the skill, this year he's found his confidence at the NHL level

I’d still trade his ass.

PL with Byfield and Laf looks like a great line. They scored 3 goals. Hope Kopi line starts to pick up on the scoring side.
That goal was so sick I have to get a Byfield jersey now. THE BOYS ARE BACK.
Get the blank shirt and add his name....$40 and free shipping if you wait for the free days.
This game was a wild game lol. Jackets where pissed off the whole time 😂
Byfield the Beast! This guy's going to be great! And I vividly remember when people thought his career was over before it really began.
Byfield is crazy
Depuis la 🇨🇭 un Grand 👏 a Byfield ! Et aussi pour le notre Fiala 👍

Byfield is nasty, love it
I'm not even mad about the loss, that Byfield goal was insane
Nice effing goal Byfield!
Dude.... what. a. goal.
Goal of the year, Byfield is growing into a beast.
It's such a fun arena to see your team kick ass. I need to go to another game.
Not even close to any Canadian arena

Kings looking much better, Columbus isn't a powerhouse but a W is a W.
Byfield!!!...Yea baby!!!
Good call on the goalie interference, if they allowed that goal, every other team would be looking to push the defenseman into the goaltender.
I never understood calling Byfield a bust so fast. Kopitar is like the perfect person to be grooming him to be the heir apparent.
nasty goal from Byfield
Браво короли.С победой🎉🎉🎉❤
Johnny looks so young and different clean shaven.
первые два гола кингов прекрасны
Первый гол Байфилда шедевр!
That's about what I was expecting from this match up.
yeah !
today in "i'm not a back up goalie" Elvis lets down the team AGAIN. Waivers and eat the salary. Screw it at this point.
Okay, but don't you dare blame him for the first goal. That was just hockey magic.
