Why not mention they had this movie made in 2013 , but they re-shoot scenes that failed in the test screenings with Eddie that was 11 years older... that now has a SCAR on his right cheek due to a freak incident in his new movie he was shooting "The Pickup" ... the movie story was the same like in the previous films , but the scene change to Eddie from 2013, to Eddie with SCAR from 2024 IN ONE SCENE WHERE JARRING!!!! You can even see it here: no Scar slimmer Eddie at 0:54, older fatter Eddie with Scar on right side at 2:36 ... guess Netlfix was too cheap to digitally make him Younger and fix that scar ...
not to mention The Car Talking scenes... when no Scar slimmer Eddie jumps to older fatter Eddie with Scar on right side ... back and forth , sometimes 8 times ...
Saw this movie a couple nights ago. It’s stale. They lazily try and bring the feeling of the old films back via the soundtrack as well, but it really feels out of place. Like , you’re watching what’s meant to be a modern movie and these 80’s synths kick in. Just one dumb car chase after another too.
Except for Beverley Hills Cop 2 all Eddie Murphy sequels are terrible maybe 3/10 rating and he is obviously making these sequels to make money because all the viewers get excited with a sequel of a movie they liked years ago. Fact is storylines are now dried up hence even Bad Boys has returned with talk of a part 5. Only Stallone with Rocky did excellent sequels.
Another movie where they rely on you having such strong member berries that you fail to see how lazy and low effort the movie actually is. Makes you realize what a Unicorn Top Gun Maverick is. It’s a total member berries movie too but they still made a good movie. All I thought watching Axel F was how much I missed the way movies looked in the 80’s vs. this cold, sterile sharpness that is digital film making. Also the big movies back then were so much more creative in their edits and shots, even for just conversational stuff. At least they had the good sense to cast Lucifer.
