    Keep up the good work.

Would you clarify the statement you made about the blinking pressure control value, in the video you said it was indicative of too low of a flow term, but even when turned up to 40 it’s still blinking. Thoughts?

Which mask should be used in NPPV-Bipap mode? The circuit already has an exhalation valve, so I am assuming the blue nozzle mask w/out valve??

You would use the recommended mask for the specific vent you are using. Most of them use a non-vented mask.

Are you going to be doing videos on the LTV1200 also?

It seems silly to me that the defaults are so far away from where they need to be when fine tuning is hard to do without having the patient on it. Someone already panicking, short of breath and hypoxic and you have to fiddle with controls that you can't access with alarms on the screen seems like a recipe for failure.

That being said I appreciate the video, it was very informative and helpful as I recently started working for a service that uses these ventilators

I agree. It would be nice to have the ability to save entire profiles, or "recipes" to start a patient on. I'm sure that is the future. Imagine turning the vent on and entering ONE number. (Such as profile #15) This would set everything. Adult, NPPV, turn off alarms, etc
Then you could simply adjust from there. With modern technology, it seems ridiculous that you can't save custom profiles.

Good video. Question: At 4:25 you set flow term at 40%, to allow easier exhalation. I've used that setting myself. The default was 25%. But I'm trying to understand why termination at a lower number like 25 wouldn't be even easier for the patient? If it terminates a breath sooner so the patient doesn't have to fight against it. I realize that I may be thinking about flow term incorrectly, but want to understand.

Hello Adam, Flow termination is only applied for a spontaneous pressure supported breath while in SIMV or in BIPAP. By lowering the flow termination to 10% for example, you are in turn allowing more area under the curve and will allow the patient a longer decelerating flow pattern. This gives you a larger Vt. If you were to turn the flow termination up to 40% in this example, you are terminating the inspiratory flow sooner, and the area under the curve is smaller, giving you a smaller Vt. If you send me your email, I'll send you a picture of the waveform and the different flow termination settings. Eric
