@evandaymon8303 Seth stopped working on AD part-way through season 1 to continue working on FG until he eventually left in 2010 to make Ted. He hasn't worked in a creative capacity on either show for years.
In my opinion, Steve Smith from American Dad is a much better 'son' character. Apart from the fat jokes, Steve is used for the same type of jokes but with more success. In addition, he has far more substance in his character; he has four friends with funny characteristics alongside his amazing ability to sing. Also, he can be used in many more storylines showing, once again, how American Dad has better storytelling than Family Guy. In comparison to Steve, Chris does not have any of this.
Another thing that is just totally forgotten about in the show is that he had an evil monkey in his closet for years. What a thing to continue for so long, only to never reference it ever again
They actually resolved that plotline. There was a whole episode where Chris actually proves he has an Evil Monkey in his closet, then they become friends, then the Evil Monkey moves on to scare Tom Tucker's kid. While its weird that the evil monkey never showed up afterwards, they did actually do something with that joke.
@MysteriousTomJenkins I do remember this episode! I was happy to see them actually make a defining move for a character and stick with it, no longer having him in Chris's room, but was just a bit shocked that over the rest of the show, they didn't use the monkey for anything else. I just figured that the monkey would possibly go the way of the giant chicken, occasionally popping up in the world here and there. But I do remember that episode now, thank you for reminding me 😄
Chris is the only family guy character who has the potential to have his own spinoff that wouldn’t ruin Family guy, while the spinoff having a semi decent shot of being alright.
Im so happy you used this picture of chris for the thumbnail, idk why but that bit was the first family guy bit that actually got me to laugh really hard and i remember it so fondly lol
I think Chris has a similar issue to Patrick from spongebob where like in the early seasons Patrick was completely different and acted pretty normal then in the later episodes Patrick is just there to be stupid. Chris in the earlier episodes was just kind of a teen kid and now they made him overly stupid and weird
he went on to live in another kid's closet to help them overcome some nondescript teenage problem (the episode where chris finally catches him is awful and everything following that episode is honestly the downfall of family guy)
in the earlier seasons, everyone sounded more authentic as opposed to sounding more cookie-cutter and formulaic in the current seasons. also, chris is/was addicted to huffing glue, which better matches his earlier seasons' voice but is only briefly mentioned (like twice) in later seasons.
In early seasons he visibly had storylines, the artist storyline, the scouts, the gumble to gumble arc, the love story with Sam, who actually turns out to be a Cis female (to Chris's delight) - to name a few Not seen your vids before, I'm hearing such a Northern Irisih twang in your accent, and it's so interesting.
Speaking of plot points that came up and then were never talked about again, that one episode where Peter discovered that Chris was rather gifted after they went to shower at a gym. "Hey Chris, what's wrong with your leg?" You think that they would make at least one joke about it with one of his many girlfriends or a Hung parody or something.
2:02. One of the most memorable Family Guy episodes is where Chris' teacher wanted him to kill her husband... I still LOL every time i see him fall from the 2nd floor and Swetie yelling at him 😂
The scene that sums up Chris's pointlessness and lack of consistency is at the end of the episode where Stewie plays football and gets a concussion. Chris walks into the hospital with a newborn saying "they are giving away free people"...then less than a minute later in the same scene, he tries to initiate a serious discussion about the NFL and concussions. What the hell?
Can I just say, I appreciate so much that when there are 4:3 clips on screen, you put a background and don't just crop it or stretch it. Makes it way more watchable.
Brian Griffin here, you have crossed the line!!! You may have made a callout on me, or Lois, or even Stewie, but you have officially barked the wrong tree by picking on Chris.
But I do remember that episode now, thank you for reminding me 😄
Can’t wait for stewie as he is the only one who has remained decent
he went from evil to odd to fruity
@@r3stl3ss he is straight for a plot, but zesty for a joke
Chris is the only family guy character who has the potential to have his own spinoff that wouldn’t ruin Family guy, while the spinoff having a semi decent shot of being alright.
chris griffin is the character equivalent of that one dj khaled thumbnail with the words "what does he even do?" in big bold text
I'm honestly wondering to myself where the evil monkey is now ?
he went on to live in another kid's closet to help them overcome some nondescript teenage problem (the episode where chris finally catches him is awful and everything following that episode is honestly the downfall of family guy)
It might be me but Chris sounds more like an actual teenager in the latter seasons of family Guy compared to the old ones
in the earlier seasons, everyone sounded more authentic as opposed to sounding more cookie-cutter and formulaic in the current seasons. also, chris is/was addicted to huffing glue, which better matches his earlier seasons' voice but is only briefly mentioned (like twice) in later seasons.
I think he acted more like a teenager in the early seasons, he was more fleshed out and characteristically child-like.
I agree he’s more of a 90s sitcom son trope in the early seasons
5:00 oh my god
"I'm just trying to eat, that's all i'm trying to do." - Chris Griffin
I honestly forgot chris has an earing at one point in time
NOT THE FAMILY SON
Next analysis: "Cleveland: he's there I guess"
In early seasons he visibly had storylines, the artist storyline, the scouts, the gumble to gumble arc, the love story with Sam, who actually turns out to be a Cis female (to Chris's delight) - to name a few
Not seen your vids before, I'm hearing such a Northern Irisih twang in your accent, and it's so interesting.
The last video in this series should be Peter Griffin: The Family Guy (I couldn’t think of anything else)
nah that title is solid.I wouldn't have it any other way.
No friggin way, another Family Guy character review? Holy crap, Lois...
freakin sweet nyehehehehehehehehehehehehe conway twitty
@@r3stl3sswoah ass ahoy roadhouse giggity BRIAN LOOK OUT
Chris Griffin: A Character in the Show
2:49 Hebert like Chris
😭😭 reall
Ijust realised Chris griffin is like Barry from American Dad
barry has more depth
The season 10 episode "Killer Queen" makes fun of this where both Chris Griffin and Barry Robinson are at fat camp.
the real problem is that the show is still on the air
Old Family Guy was a whole different show
9:25 my god. I never realised it was that bad
Chris is no Bart Simpson.
It’s crazy how Chris has less personality than Meg especially since the crew infamously cannot write women
2:02. One of the most memorable Family Guy episodes is where Chris' teacher wanted him to kill her husband... I still LOL every time i see him fall from the 2nd floor and Swetie yelling at him 😂
bills got too high bro needed to make another family guy character episode
bro had his bedside lamp on for 3.4 seconds too long and now they knocking on his door to lay claim to his belongings
I find it funny that the first clip you used of family guy was actually Cleveland show lol
We both like big awesome cartoons, so why can't we be both put our differences aside and be friends? Have you read my book 'Faster than the Speed of Love'?
Woah brain Greenland hi
XDD
My God!
Once you notice how Mark drags the last word of every sentence you just can't unnotice it!!
I love these videos where you talk about the Family Guy cast and Springtrap Five Nights At Freddy.
The “oh my god” literally never stops being funny it catches me off guard every single time
HOLY SHIT THE VIDEO AT 5:00 IS ME LMAO
“Why are you do fucking negative all the time?” Is such a fire line
I like that he starts every family guy ep with "when i was 10"
a wee lad
That is the most direct title you’ve ever written
I bet you guys are still asking Mark to make a video ranking all the episodes of the Cleveland show.😂
4 min videos don't get monetized
One time my dad (who is very immature) laughed hard at the scene when Stewie buries his weapons and Chris jumps out the window yelling “Did we get a pool”
You should have called it "Chris Griffin: the artist that lost creativity"
Gotta be the top comment
Chris is my favorite character, I love his voice and delivery
Can’t wait for everyone’s favorite character, Ernie the giant chicken to get his time to shine
I can't help but notice just how much Mark uses the Sonic Unleashed Soundtrack throughout all his videos: and it's by FAR my favorite Sonic game of all time. Major respect.
3:02 His biggest heater.
Dude. Making fun of the mans accent?
NOT. COOL.
@@matthewrowlett1564 Sorry, only mean it in good fun. I don't mean to offend him.
Dude, making fun of his accent? Badass
Dude. Making fun of his accent?
ok
Dude, making fun of his accent? Aight
When Chris said “it’s Chrisin time” and did absolutely nothing I cried
