    Thanks for sharing the rear bolt bracket size - both of mine walked out on the highway and sent my caliper flying. Now i don’t have to buy a bunch and figure it out!

    That is ludicrous! I was shocked and chagrined how cheap they can be on EBay.

      Haha right!! I’m trying to help all those that don’t know there are other options. If you type in hawk 250 brake pads in on eBay nothing comes up. I figured I’d show em how to save a buck and find the right pads. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I love your site I've learned a lot but I'm also wondering if you could help me find brake pads for my granddaughters dirt bike. She has a Vitacci Moto DB V6 125cc Extreme Power

    My grandson and I were out riding today , and he said he could hear a high-pitched squeal from my back wheel when I put on my break….!
    So I’m gonna go down to our local Kawasaki dealer and see if they have these brake pads thanks a bunch….!

    Thanks for all your info bro! Could you give me some advice on my rear brake dragging? I am only get my Hawk up to about 50. I've searched the web but no real clear answer. Thanks for any help bud.

      First of all just wanted to start out with the fact that the hawk is not a fast or high-speed bike to begin with. my bike with sprockets is geared for road riding, I only get 65 Top Speed out of the bike. If your rear brakes are hanging up, there’s a retainer up inside the rear brake caliper, you need to check the brake pad on the non-piston side of the caliper, just make sure it’s sitting in the retainer correctly (The back of the brake pad should be all the way against the inside back of the Caliper). There are also situations where you may have too much brake fluid, or another common issue is where the rear brake is partially engaged, because of the adjustment screw on the rear brake foot lever. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!

      @@goodolboys713 Big help bud, thank you! I actually just took off the rear brake, to see if that was the problem and it wasn't, so, shit. I can't get her past 50, I would certainly be happy with 65! Any ideas on what's causing her to go so damn slow?

    • @goodolboys713

      @@ryanbaker7071 As I said before unfortunately the hawk is simply a slow bike out of the box, however with simply changing out the sprocket front and rear, and re-jetting the carburetor, you can reach 65 miles an hour. Now keep in mind that’s the absolute top speed on my bike, different people have different opinions on what TopSpeed actually is. If you’re looking to cruise at 60 miles an hour 17 front sprocket and 40 tooth rear sprocket is a must! again there’s different opinions on what gearing to go with, however I have a video that goes over multiple different gearing combinations and set ups and how they work and what they are for. Here is that video, it should help clear up some things for you: th-cam.com/video/XKCC3suCjGQ/w-d-xo.html

      @@goodolboys713 Thank you bud, I watch all your videos lol. I already switched to 17:45 sprocket, upgraded the battery and spark plug. It's a deluxe, so no carb modifications. Still can't get her to a comfortable speed to ride her to work safely. She has about 50 miles on her. Idk bud, may just have to take her somewhere.

    were your brakes soft after assembly and if so did bleeding help stiffen them up?

  • @archuletta11

    Do you might know why my hawk rear brake stopped working the calipers are not closing

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So there are many reasons why brakes don’t work, here are a few simple issues/solutions:
      Out of brake fluid-add fluid
      Brake pads worn out or complete gone- replace pads
      Loose brake like- tighten brake lines
      No pressure- bleed the brakes
      Burst line- replace brake line
      Beyond that, possible bad caliper or master cylinder. (If you see leaks these could be a possibility, however 99% of the time it’s something simple) so again these are just a few possibilities of what can go wrong. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!

    Where can I get replacement of the long screws?

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s one of the tedious things about these bikes unfortunately. Everything has to be searched out, and everything is a bit of a chore to find and guess what part fits😂 anyway, it’s not impossible to find parts but it a bit of a chore. I haven’t replaced those so unfortunately I’m not sure. I wish you the best of luck in your search. Thanks for watching!

    Any Idea how to stop the rear brake from squeaking? It stops squeaking as soon as I apply ANY brake pressure at all....

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Iv heard of that problem and had it happen. I’m not sure of the exact cause, but a couple things that might help: change the rear brake pads, lightly ride the rear brakes for a mile or so down the road (be careful, you don’t burn up the rotor or pads, your just trying to wear down the pads a bit and get rid of the squeak), ride it though some mud and apply the brakes (the abrasiveness of the mud will wear the pad down and possibly get past the squeaky part of the pad). Other things that could cause brake squeak or chatter are bad rear bearings, bad alignment of the rear brake caliper, bad or missing brake pad spring. There are many different scenarios that could cause squeaky brakes. I recommend trying some of my back yard diy fixes, and then moving on to more involved solutions. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!

      @@goodolboys713 I fixed the problem! There was quite a lot of air in the rear brake line. After bleeding the system thoroughly the problem is fixed! Pass it on!!

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GliderDriver will do! The air was probably expanding and putting slight pressure on the pads causing the brake to rub enough to chatter. Best way to get this info out there is to ask questions in the form of a comment like this. There are so many questions asked on a regular basis (on my videos here on TH-cam it’s basically like a forum of information). My best advice (to you and anyone else reading this) is to keep asking great questions like this one! Thanks for watching!

    I’m 5’7 will I be able to fit this bike fine

    • @goodolboys713
      @goodolboys713  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, probably almost perfect. It’s a bike that’s made for 5foot height range people. That being said I would recommend this bike to almost all sizes except little kids. Thanks for watching!
