This and "Anytime" literally saved my marriage in 1990. We both are big into music and especially the rock ballad love songs. These guys get my heart and his heart everytime! Wish we could have gotten more from them!
I've heard many ballads in my time, but for me this one hits the gut every single time, does not fail to give the chills. Headphones always 🎧 to really get into it!
Seriously, one of the best rock ballads ever written - so much emotion in it. Might be a surprise Schenker didn't write on this one, it was actually written by Jesse Harms with McAuley. There's a demo with RM singing on JH's "All Sides In" compilation - not quite as layered or dramatic a version as this though.
I wish Michael and Robin would play this on their current tour. This is one of the best songs from their era and one of the most emotional songs for me.
I had taped this song to a cassette tape but didn't know who did this song, so I typed in the title and Allright!!! I found the artist, Love This Song A Lot! Rock on! I may be 70yr old but I'm still Rockin' hard. Beautiful song.
I was born in 81, and for the first time today, I found this song and MSG. McAuley reminds me of Dio and a bit of Coverdale. The musical composition is so well-written. It rivals many other songs I see on "Top 80s Rock" YT playlists. Right up there with Warrant and Heart, In my opinion!!
Great lineup on the MSG disc: Robin McAuley, Michael Schenker, Jeff Pilson & James Kottack! Criminally underrated band! To my knowledge, this disc had sold over 500,000 copies. It should've been multi- platinum!
80roky najlepšia dekáda aká v histórii pop& rockovej hudby bola , úžasné hlasy, výborní hudobníci, inštrumentálna dokonalosť, špičkové aranžmány a choreografia u mňa absolútny vrchol klobúk dole👏👏👏🎤🎸🥁🎹
This song faded from airplay pretty quickly, but it was on the radio in March of 1992 - a special time for me, moving away from home on a long trip to my first full time job out of state. Have not heard this since then, brings back memories of that long drive, all alone.
I got this tape at a grand opening of a auto parts store in 91 that was hosted by the local rock station. I literally was the only one in a 60 mile radius of the station that had a copy of that tape. (or so the station told me, lol). I still have the tape to this day and most people I let listen to it never heard of them wished they had back in the day.
INCREDIBLY UNDER-RECOGNISED AND UNDERRATED album all in all. Robin MacAuleys voice gives me the chills, equipped with Schenker's wicked melodies that he's forever been smashing since the early 1970's with UFO (also underappreciated considering their iconic and highly influential status in rock music!)
You should be try to hear "Anytime" from the album "Save yourself" , it's great !!! , all the album is good , every song , but , "Anytime" is the best , sure !!!
I can't believe McAuley is 60 already! He sure as hell doesn't look it. He is so fine...and still has the pipes to back it up. I bought their first cassette tape(yes, I said cassette tape!) back when he first joined. Amazing voice. And, Schenker is still one helluva axe man!!
and he's not singing either. When he Joined? Errm he was the founder member, it's everyone else were the ones that actually joined lol MSG- MIcheal Schenker Group
Chris Davies Dude, I saw Schenker fest last Saturday. He's not singing anymore? Not true, McCauley, Gary Barden, and Graham Bonnet were there. McCauley rocked the house. Schenker disbanded MSG in 85, the McCauley Schenker Group released Perfect Timing in 88'
That was so AWESOME!!! Haven't heard anything from this band in so long. I love this band!!! Always will, now that I've found you again. I have your music on cassettes.
Celebrating life with a stiff vodka sunrise. All I need these days. Just discovered this band. Like innocence of youth and this new song permeated my soul.
I remember this group well also from back in the early 90s. Another great group along with RTZ, Y&T, The Storm, Winger, Tangier, and Skid Row in that time! Need I say more? I have a CD compilation with all these and few others you will never here again on a radio station.
This song introduced me to rock music and opened new horizons. It also helped me to get over a very ugly breakup when I found out about my girl cheating on me multiple times. And like in the lyrics it luckily turned Out for the Better for me. "You won't be laughing!" As I write this, I just Heard the news that James Kottak, who played drums on this song, hast passed away. R. I. P., James. I Will always remember you and the music you helped to create.
Who else is still listening to this amazing song in 2024?? ❤
❤❤❤
Fuck yeah. God, my dad gave the best education in music
Got to see McSG & MS Barden several times. A huge part of my life. Oh yeah! Good times.
Me, i'm still love this song, that time was was my heart falling in love
☝️🙏👋👏
This and "Anytime" literally saved my marriage in 1990. We both are big into music and especially the rock ballad love songs. These guys get my heart and his heart everytime! Wish we could have gotten more from them!
God bless you guys
Robin's voice & Michael's guitar together is a marriage made in heaven...😇🪽....

2022 brother
You want to talk about a very underrated, undervalued, unappreciated, and overlooked singer look no further than Robin McAuley. Love his voice.
He's a freak of nature who still sounds EXACTLY THE SAME AT 70 YEARS OLD!!!! You won't meet a cooler, warmer rock star, either!
This is one of those songs that sound really good on a late night summer drive with the windows down. Nighttime air lends magic to the right music.
25 years looking for this song, whispering only the melody of the choir all this time and tonight I find it. I feel like I am 15 years old again.
Get the CD!
That's awesome ❤ love when u find a treasure
One of the most underrated bands ever
I agree 👍
Thank you corporate America 🤬🤬🤬evergreen media owns 99% of everything. Soooooooo underrated.
one of the rare instances where this comment is merited. you can't find this band on spotify, juke boxes, or music stores anywhere in the usa
La buena música no es para todos yo escuche este banda la primera ves en cassette la canción what happened to me y dije que canción y los acordes y no sabia de este michael schenker que había estado en scorpions
So true and i am 24
Taking me back college years late 80s. Not many people know MSG. One of my favorites..August, 2023. Charlotte, NC.
Well, this song was actually first released in the summer of 1992.
This is a legendary song, immortal. Period.
Agree!
I totally agree 👍 with you
This ,is legendary !!!
I remember having this on cassette back then. I wore the tape out . I still love this band! ... Wish we could bring back the 80's.
A true Masterpiece of music! 👑🔥 the new generations don't have a clue about these gems! ⚘⚘
Rudolf Schenker had Klaus Meine and Michael Schenker had Robin McAuley! Amazing combinations! Amazing songs!
Michael had Phill Moog first ,shame it didnt work out
Yes !!!!
Ich habe heute einen sehr lieben Menschen verloren. Dieses Lied widme ich meiner Mutti. R. I. P.
Просто потрясающая композиция! Голос Робина Маколей фантастичен! Я возвращаюсь к этой вещи снова и снова! Спасибо им за такие шедевры, сейчас так не делают!
Another very underrated 80s band.
I've heard many ballads in my time, but for me this one hits the gut every single time, does not fail to give the chills. Headphones always 🎧 to really get into it!
From time to time I listen to 80s ballads. Headphones on and eyes closed. It's like meditation to cleanse my soul. 😂
I have never in my entire life heard a voice similar to Robin McAuley. Absolutely unique for Rock Ballad
People that know and love this song are very lucky to know such a great song like this.
One of the best rock ballads ever made!
There are people from India, who appriciates such good band, one of my fav along with UFO. Love from India.
Seriously, one of the best rock ballads ever written - so much emotion in it.
Might be a surprise Schenker didn't write on this one, it was actually written by Jesse Harms with McAuley. There's a demo with RM singing on JH's "All Sides In" compilation - not quite as layered or dramatic a version as this though.
after 15 years of looking for this excellent melody. What great happiness, it brings back memories of my youth
I've always loved Scorpions, UFO, MSG & McAuley Schenker Group too. Something about the German Hard Rock Blues. Pentatonic Bliss!
my neighbors were just listening to this........(they're a 1/4 mile away and i have an awesome stereo!)
Lucky buggers ;)
That's some funny s**t right there!
LOL
As it should be!! That's great! :)
Can you move into my neighborhood, please?
*Even When I'm Gone I'll Still Be Listening To These Great Songs*
I wish Michael and Robin would play this on their current tour. This is one of the best songs from their era and one of the most emotional songs for me.

Yes Robin Mcaley sounds like Dio or Kevin Dubrow, and little bit like a Klaus Meine. 😊
Great lineup on the MSG disc: Robin McAuley, Michael Schenker, Jeff Pilson & James Kottack! Criminally underrated band! To my knowledge, this disc had sold over 500,000 copies. It should've been multi- platinum!
Is James kottak played drums on this music video?
@@mikehell9818, I believe so.
@@omarvillarreal3850positive its him @3:09

Michael Schenker gênio!!! Que música meus amigos!!
Schenker's no doubt a genius, but this one was written by McAuley and Jesse Harms.
@@sbg911 schenker put his magic stamp on it though, that's why it's as good as it is
Nothings beats the oldies "beats"
