Hey, Clayton Condo. It's me, Oral Richards Jr. I know it's been a while since i posted comments related to your videos. Without further ado, let me start commenting on your videos: 1. Body Parts was a box office bomb, attributed to marketing being pulled after the Jeffrey Dahmer murders in Wisconsin, resulting in the film being banned there, but the film has found it's audience on home video. 2. Cabaret Balkan is one of the early films by Paramount Classics, an arthouse, foreign film, and independent division of Paramount Classics, and it's quite a rare gem that has never been on dvd here in the states. 3. Performance was a collaborative effort between the late great Nicolas Roeg, director of Don't Look Now and The Witches and the late Donald Cammell, who directed Demon Seed, White of the Eye and Wild Side, the latter was heavily recut by production company Nu Image, that got to the point where not only he got to take his name off the film, it also led to his tragic passing, thankfully, his wife and editor were able to reconstruct his vision years after his death, with it being done in the UK only. 4. Dustin Hoffman was originally set to direct Straight Time, but early into production, Warmer Bros. expressed concerns with his ability as a director, so he reluctantly stepped down and Ulu Grosbard took over as director. 5. Francis Veber, writer and director of The Dinner Game hated the remake of his film, Dinner for Schmucks. 6. Lady Sings the Blues is much better than The United States vs. Bille Holiday, in my opinion. 7. Belfast is considered an return to form for director Kenneth Branagh, after the debacle of that was Artemis Fowl, which was unceremoniously dumped on Disney+, after ditching theatres entirely. 8. Gridiron Gang is my favorite film. Even though it didn't do well at the Box Office, mainly due to it's subject matter (american football) not doing well overseas. 9. To me, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was a big letdown from it's predecessor, an absence of John Cusack (even though he makes an uncredited cameo in the Unrated version), it was a box office bomb, failing to earn back it's $14 million budget, but at least it had a few moments that made me chuckle a bit. 10. I, robot had production woes stemming from the beginning, multiple writers were brought in, and it changed from an Sci-Fi mystery to an summer blockbuster, hencing why Will Smith was cast and Fox put a lot of pressure on director Alex Proyas, forcing humor against his wishes and threatening to replace the ending with more jokes. All of this left a sour taste in his mouth, that it became his last studio film, as his subsequent films were produced independently. That's all i got to say about your video!
I have: - Captain Blood (MGM/UA Home Video VHS release) - Marooned (1993 Columbia/TriStar Home Video VHS release) - Father’s Little Dividend (Congress Video Group VHS release) - Gridiron Gang (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment DVD release) - Grumpy Old Men (Warner Home Video VHS release) - Grumpier Old Men (Warner Home Video VHS release) - Shaun of the Dead (Rogue/Universal Studios DVD release) - I Robot (20th Century Fox Home Entertainment VHS release, also I have it on DVD and Blu-Ray)
Speaking of Shaun of the Dead & I,Robot, both movies were celebrated their 20th Anniversary when they’re came out in 2004,since it’s 2024 right now! And also Speaking of The Book of Life, the movie celebrated its 10th Anniversary when it came out in theaters in 2014!
I have the 1980 Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment VHS of The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, which I very recently got that tape off of eBay. I really want to give that movie a watch soon as well, as I love foreign cinema these days. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are on my watchlist. Really enjoyed Looper, and I thought Belfast was great as well. However, I used to like The Book of Life when I was a kid, but now, I don't really care for that movie imo, for which I believe I stopped liking that movie back in early 2023.
I have what you have: VHS: Cabaret Balkan & Marooned DVD: 2-Disc All-Access Collector's Edition of I,Robot Blu-ray: Shaun Of The Dead & Hot Fuzz in the Comic Book Styled Steelbook from 2013 and Body Parts from Scream Factory In 2020 4K Ultra HD: The World’s End
