I'm so glad that Tommy dreamer does a lot of these AEW reviews for busted open. His background in ECW seems to really inform his opinion about AEW shows.
it's so true, literally dissapointed whenever it's not dave, bully, and Mari henry. everyone else is a jabroni who I would humble with my 10 inch rooster
The chair seems to be gimmicked, as per Bryan Alvarez. In my humble opinion, I'd rather not see such spots in wrestling anymore, but knowing that the chair was gimmicked made this easier for me to accept. Overall, the match was great. Not iconic, just great and entertaining. Swerve looked like an absolute badass and that's what you want for your champion. Darby Allin is Mr. AEW for me at this point, so him getting the win for his team made a lot of sense to me and it set up a TNT title match at All In. I agree with Matt regarding the ending being a promo after a lot of violence, which isn't exactly ideal. I think this could have done a bit better. Just to be clear, many criticized the match before it began because they felt the build up leading to it was weak, which I kind of agree with. So with the weak build in mind, I think the match turned out to be better than expected. The fans in attendance were absolutely into it, every spot got a ton of reaction and that's what you want in matches like this. Whether everyone loved the ending or not is obviously debatable.
They clearly need to define what the power structure is in the elite storyline. The fact that they haven’t has really impaired the story to this point. It’s not that difficult to establish the logical framework.
It’s hard not to replicate spots we’ve seen growing up watching the likes of dreamer , sandman , raven , cactus jack. But I understand the chair shot shouldn’t of been done especially if someone like Dreamer says so .
Tommy Dreamer was on point with the chairshot to the head and the long term affects it would have thanks to series concussions. Gimmick chair or not, that looked stiff as a fuck.
As someone who grew up watching chair shots on tv to the head, back then I thought it was cool, it was edgy, and it was realistic, however I didn't and a lot of other people including those in the industry either didn't know about CTE, or knew about it but didn't fully understand the risks involved with it. Then 2007 came along and Benoit killed his family and himself. The autopsy results showed Benoit's brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient. Wrestling as a whole had to take a complete step back from chair shots to the head and WWE had banned it. The Chris Benoit murders are still 17 years later fresh in most of our heads. When I see a chair shot to the head like that now it is hard to watch because I can't see something like that happen without thinking of those murders. AEW is competing with the WWE trying to punch up. They are trying to get ratings to compete with them and I feel like they are going to move forward with a very fast and loose mindset putting wrestlers safety at risk. I do not like it at all. There is no way that chair shot was safe. The sound it made makes me believe it wasn't. If it can be proven to me otherwise I would love to hear it but I feel as though that is not going to happen. AEW needs to avoid this in the future. Just the optics of it is bad on its own.
The Bucks are the squeakiest heels ever. It’s just not believable. Everybody on the Team AEW side felt and looked “real”. Only Hangman feels authentic on the Elite side.
What a great day, I'm going to see a match called Blood and Guts, where there is usually barbed wire, staples, thumbtacks and blood... HEEEEY, is that barbed wire, staples, thumbtacks and blood??? What the hell! AEW BAD!
Dumbest ending to a match EVER! What was Darby gonna do if they didn’t quit? Set him on fire in live tv? this is why it’s hard to take aew seriously 👌🏼
@@teemimika7105 on the contrary, only a 5yr old would enjoy something as illogical as that, “oh wow he’s gonna set him on fire” is really believable buddy…
Tommy trying to justify the EVP storyline is annoying! Is he hoping to get a job with the company? The booking is nonsensical, and only a fool or an employee would defend it!

Best Blood and Guts out of the 4. Loved every second of yesterday's show it was awesome.
Can't legitimately call it the best one out of them all when Okada did virtually nothing.
Was hoping to hear bullys thoughts on this and daves

He was announcing live at the end of the show busted open after dark bully has his own show
Blood and guts was crazy
That chair shot was extremely Hard WoW
One of the best Blood n Guts 🎉🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤
Tommy loves everything. I never thought he was going to stop talking.
cry troll
"AEW doesn't tell stories enough. We get enough action." "I didn't like talking as part of a match story. It should be about violence and action."
Darby and Jack should obviously be an inferno match.
Flamethrower on a pole match🤭🤭

Pumped for All In
Don't worry about JBJP's brain. His hair will protect him
Also his brain is the size of a pinto bean so it’s not like we’re losing an Einstein
Brisco threw the chair at Jack didn't he? Doesn't that take a lot off it?

One thing people criticize about AEW is story telling. I think the promo is them beginning to attempt storytelling

SMH, this guy's voice if very commentary-ish, great voice👍
The new guy.
Camp wasn't breathing loud enough off-mic
"unprotected chair shots" should be compared to MMA. (just saying the debate is complicated!)
Oh it’s Matt camp nevermind
I've had it on for over a minute and he's still not whined about how bad WWE is yet. Must be a record.
@@artvandelayRFC how is WWE bad right now?

I will serve life in prison for lightning you on fire ... UNLESS I get a shot at the TNT Title.
Yes.
Makes a ton of sense. LOL 🤔
In the history of wrestling, every single company has thrown logic out of the window on a daily basis like this, you do realize.
It was the lamest ending possible lol

Ending was as bad as aj cody match
Uh oh. Did Dave get fired?
thats like saying garbage cans shouldnt be hit in the head. like you said this is 2024 and they know how to make it look real. i hate wwe marks.
Im not a fan of aew...I didn't love the match but Mark Briscoe was easily the highlight
i love how nobody cares if Dave and Bully arent on the show. Id add Mark Henry, but its obvious who the draws are.
Oh it’s Matt Camp… where’s Bully and Dave? Never mind I’m out
This match was terrible. Don't need to see barbed wire, staples, thumb tacks, or fire ever again.
Go watch wwe then

The ending where matt kept talking was so unnecessarily overdone in that moment, it was a lacking ending to an ok match at best.
