I think the idea behind the rules modifiers was to change the way players will do valuation on certain cards. If you can only play one power card per turn, divine chalice becomes so much better. Perhaps it even elevates it by a whole tier. The potion that allows you to "put a card directly from hand in to play" would also be better, would it not?
A lot of game systems print more and more and more until the game collapses on itself under immense errata and convolution. Changing the environment itself is a clean way to allow familiar and already existent cards to take on different values and effect the environment in new ways.
    Just my two cents.

Ordered it over a week ago, isn't here yet. I can see how most wouldn't like the Enchantment cards, but I can also see how they could add some variety to each game.

There are SICK combos with the Shield of Zira. Remember folks: the ability can trigger even when YOU are making yourself sacrifice cards (i.e., Necrotic Kryss or the new Argos Hawk).

I had the exact opposite opinion. The enchantments were huge I loved the changes they made to the game we played and am looking forward to playing with some of the different ones. We played with the one that made you lose points if you added a card to your hand and using the different ways to make other players add cards to their hand made the game play very differently.

Enchantment cards remind me Small World: Tales and Legends cards, but they are changing rules for a turn. Yes, this adds a variety to the game, but also an artificial restriction which you may not be comfortable and used to.

We already use Batman as the first player marker.

I have to disagree majorly with this. I think it does make a major difference, hell at any one point youre not going to get any of one element at all and a 50% reduced chance of two others, all depending on the season.
Yes they could've made it 5x more tied into this, but then you risk having a massively fiddly game which a LOT of people would try once, get frustrated and it would collect dust in the cupboard.

No, sorry. And Yes, maybe You haven't played Season enough. With the expansion it is a totally new game. And yesterday we stumbled on the card You hate, play max 1 card per turn, and it was FUN. I had to discard Titus ( 2 of them !!! ) because all the players except 1 were constantly around 0 points all the game, but, believe me, it was FUN.

I think this is an awful game for several reasons, but one inparticular has been ever so slightly improved upon by this expansion. One gripe is that I don't feel that the changing seasons really mean much, despite the name of the game. The season-specific enchantments seem to be a step in the right direction, but the game needs an overhaul to really work with me.
