I was indoctrinated since birth to a religion that was never my own (Jehovah's witness) and for 23 years I served my mother. Breaking the link caused me so much turmoil, I would constantly be berated for everything that went wrong in my life to the point I actually started to believe I deserved this punishment for the rest of my life...it led me to 15 years of smoking as a coping mechanism. The news of a friend passing this year made me snap, and I stared to look for real therapy to get past this. I found this channel 3 days ago and I am in amazement of how good I feel, yet ...there was still the anger gnawing at me...and it was from my mother's abandonment of me....I tried a tapping for releasing anger and that was great and the next suggested video was this one. This session was EXACTLY what I needed, I'll be doing this every day now, I cannot believe I was drawn to this, I am so grateful that you exist and also that there are others that have overcome this pain and embraced a new life, thank you so much for this, I cannot thank you enough for your work. I wish you the absolute best wish and blessing for you and all connected to you, thank you again.

Wow. I have very similar reasons for doing this tapping session. I was raised JW since birth as well and have a lot of resentment towards my mom because I have spent so much time unlearning and reparenting myself.

My mom has been gone for 4 years now….I always had some serious issues with her…since I was very small…I really convinced myself I had forgiven her…till I tapped through this with your help…the flood gates opened..my goodness, this is extremely powerful..we don't even comprehend what is in the unconscious mind…and it is running the show..anyways..again I thank you for all your efforts to help!

  • @kimberly-abriefongrief7777

Today, it felt natural to say ‘these issues that Mum passed down, Mum’s pain , fear, judgement she passed down’ etc...A loving way to remove the judgement....hmm to remove the shame!!! I don’t have issues with WHO Mum is, but with what she innocently DID. Shame vs guilt! 👍🥰

  • @canoslo6126
    @canoslo6126 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

Ok, so this may be a little too honest for some folks, but I got waaay more energy movement by substituting a not so nice “name/term” for the word “mom.” I tried being polite and using the more distant form of “my mother“ on the first go around, but not a lot shifted.
Problem was, I hadn’t accepted how I REALLY feel about her right now after the recent revelation of yet one more very evil thing that she did to me, something that cost me a great deal on multiple levels. Changing the name phrase to suit her behavior appropriately helped a lot more. I even felt a relaxation response by the end!
So if you, like me, had a sociopathic mother (diagnosed by professionals, not “just” me), try calling things by their right names and see if stuff shifts faster. Don’t worry - the Polite Police are NOT listening all the time, no matter what “she” might have told you!!

Thank you for this, I'm glad you had a separate one for both parents. I realized when we're young parents can seem larger than life and a lot of their thoughts and feelings and energies I have felt were trapped in me so far down I didn't know where my own thoughts begin. This helps to get rid of beliefs that I never had and just thought I had; they were only handed down, generation to generation. I feel I'm breaking the cycle and becoming my own person, little by little with each eft session:)

Thank you so much Brad for your generosity in sharing your gift! I have had lots of problems with my left hip and since I’ve been doing this tapping it has relieved a lot of the discomfort! I had heard that when you get one hip replaced the other goes shortly after or your knee goes it’s just a domino effect! And that a lot of times it’s coming from another source. I had heard that it might be attached to my mother “stuff” so I looked for videos to help me. I stumbled across your series. This has been truly a gift and I cannot thank you enough for what you do! You are an earth angel!😇🙏🏼💐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you so much for this. When I heard you say “go figure” I was sort of shocked because you are so blessed not to have had a mother that tried to destroy you. Mine is still trying at 91 and has made gains with family members who believe her 😢 But this is not new for me, she’s done it to all of my siblings too, for as long as we can remember. Having malignant narcissist parents is painful to say the least, but once you accept that painful reality, then life opens up to possibilities of greater fun, love and peace.
Thank you for all of the help and kindness that you work hard to generate ❤

I love your videos Brad. Your statement "go figure" just shows you are a man and not a woman. :-) I think even though men can have issues with mothers, it is more likely us, women, who suffer with overcritical mothers and painful relationships. But I am sure you have met many women in your practice who had "issues" with their mothers, often even when the mother is no longer alive. Very sad but the mother - daughter relationship can be very challenging, definitely for the older generations or let's say the middle aged and older. Myself included. :-) I wish all those women out there to break that cycle of unhealthy mother - daughter relationship. It takes just one of you in each family and the next generation can feel so much better. Lots of love to you all.

I was raised by two parents with Narcissistic Personality Disorder who leaned towards the sociopathic end of the spectrum, meaning they actually enjoyed causing me pain or distress.
Throughout my life, they have routinely made decisions that put my health, well being, marriage, and even my life at risk.
I am finding that all the COVID-19 ugliness over people who’d rather throw a tantrum than wear a mask and social distance is dredging up this old anger for me.
I really really hate having selfish people making choices about my health and well being that might cause me suffering, loss of those I love, or death!
I had a run in with one of these people just the other day. Although I stood my ground peacefully and didn’t deck the woman as I felt like, I was red hot angry!
Annnnd not long afterwards it kicked off a PTSD reaction and a shaking meltdown. Then a mystery pain appeared in my shoulder blade - which is why I wound up tapping at 4:45am on how furious I feel about these feelings of being risked. After a few nights of this pain waking me up, I thought maybe I could tap it away, even if I need a nap later!
Maybe Brad could do a video on anger at being risked to help others with this same old anger surfacing?

I'll add it to the list. In the meantime, I hope some of these may help: th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=brad+yates+jerks

Been fighting with mom due to personal issues. Nothing bad. We just haven't been getting along lately is all. Hope this helps. :( Can you do one of not getting along? Thanks.

Brad is the Godfather of EFT Tapping lol. Is there a topic under the sun that can’t be found on this channel? Thanks! ❤
