I just had my first child at 41, and am loving every second of it! Your choices are just that, YOURS! Congratulations to you for your honesty and determination!

I find you so refreshing and inspiring Laura!! I'm quickly approaching my 60th birthday and have made very different choices from you (all of which I am thankful for). But I'm now coming into my own as an independent woman (at 60!) and I find your content so relevant to my journey now. Thank you for being candid and vulnerable ...

I loved when you said, it's just a choice to settle down now or later and it's great that you've created that choice so you can live your best life.

I just finished my third IVF. I did the same drugs. Unfortunately for me didn’t work, I could gather a lot of eggs. But we had a n egg in the freezer from my previous try. Long story sort, this egg is on my again and tomorrow we are expecting the test to see if I am pregnant or not! If I could go back the time I would freeze my eggs in my 20’s. Very wise decision and so good that you are sharing that. New woman needs to know that. Freeze your eggs, not for man or not man, for you and yourself only!

The first time I had to give myself an injection I psyched myself out for a few days, then a good friend gave me a tutorial. That made it much easier so I just went ahead and did it (at that point mine were the 'pen' style injections). Now one of my meds is a proper needle, and I have no issues doing it. I have an autoimmune disease, hence all the needles. It really is pretty easy. Good on you for being proactive and freezing your eggs. It's like an insurance policy.

Thank you for your push to remind us, I love your age group bracket, I had it then lost it I’m past the time line , I feel empowered of people like you who reach it then maintain it we have no control of others, but you maintaining career and marriage over a decade. You are word of wisdom.

I could not possibly agree more with what you’ve said. We’re living in strange times as women. The good men are claimed early and the rest are so confused. The transition to have agency over our lives has come at a very heavy cost, being completely partnerless is more the norm. And If men could only know what it’s like to be perpetually aware of our physical safety there would be more respect. (Honestly, we scare the crap out of them enough as it is.) It’s just the times. Make the most of whatever you can.

I now take injections (diabetic) and I find that if you press the top button softer/slower and count to 10 while the liquid is going in then it doesn’t hurt as much. So it should take to the count of 10 for the clicks to come back round to zero. I hope that makes sense! I think you are doing an amazing thing in taking control of your own future and not leaving things to chance. I had my daughter at 38 and although she was an absolute surprise - she is the best thing that has ever happened to me! Yes it is more tiring as you get older but you obviously have a very young mindset and are healthy and fit! You’ll be great Laura! Xx

Congratulations, Laura, for finally living the life that you love! You need to be you and do what you love! Having children is an option, but it is not absolutely mandatory! Not everyone should have children. You can have a career and have children. Having children is just different than being without kids.
To me, atleast, finding someone to be your partner, someone who can respects you and who you respect is important. I have been with my husband for 40 years, but there was a time when we were apart. He went to care for his mother in Europe and I continued to do my art and teach on my own. He came back in timevto help me to take care of my mother. We have helped and cared for each other emotionally and physically.
Two years ago he had a stroke that paralyzed his entire left side. I have been his caretaker and cheerleader. He can walk a little now, but everyday we look forward to getting better.
It is true that people just don't respect a woman alone. They either think that they can be the one to fulfill your needs, take advantage of you, or they think that you are gay.
If you want a partner, wait until the right one finds you, but don't let that opportunity pass. If you want to be alone, that is your right too. Be yourself. Do what you love.

Ty for sharing Laura. You are amazing in so many ways. I didn't get married until I was 40. And I don't regret waiting one bit. But never feel you have to have a man to be successful or complete. You be you. And do what makes you happy. If it is meant to be then it will happen. And if not, you can and still will be fabulous, happy and fulfilled. And you'll have those beautiful little eggs to do as you please with. Wishing you only the best. You are truly a lovely and bright young woman. Your 68 year old fan in North Miami Beach.

More you than me! I just can't watch a needle going in. Once it's in, I'm all good. I can't even prick my fingers to do one of those at home blood tests. Good luck on your egg freezing journey.

I think freezing your eggs is a great idea. I am 52 now and in menopause. You never know what your future holds or 100% can know or trust what your partner honestly really wants. If I knew now, back when I had the chance, I would 110% have frozen my eggs. We need to take control of our future and what we want because once the chance has gone you can't get it back.

Omg thanks for sharing. I went through the process two years ago myself and understand your thinking process. However as a doctor and person oriented towards wellness I have to admit that it felt like the most unhealthy procedure I have ever done in my life injecting all these hormones and having this overreaction to it (OHSS). As a result I lost trust. I think it is very advertised with uncertain results. Now I want to do it again but only on a natural cycle.

You have never been in love, lucky you ! You’re not missing anything. Good men are extremely hard to find. That’s why there are so many shit heads out there. You can now have a baby when your ready, if your on your own, you can do it on your own. Lots of women do. And there is nothing wrong with it. You can have both career and a child. Good luck. You’re super talented I hope you go far in your career. 👍❤️👍

@@_liber777 I wasn't comparing Laura to these women in an aesthetic way. My point is that I agree with Laura that the narrative around women ageing should change. Ageing is a privilege not afforded to everyone.
