This is classic television at its best. I don't why this show is not on dvd and I am glad that some episodes have been put on TH-cam. It is way overdue for a DVDs release.

Great tv series! I didn’t know what gritty meant until I watched this show as a kid. Love the original commercials too. That Bic flamingo commercial was an all time favorite. Forgot about it until today.

ABC Films later became Worldvision Enterprises as a result of the FCC ruling that prohibited TV networks from syndicating their shows at the time. CBS also created Viacom, which was an outgrowth of the network. Worldvision became a division of The Taft Broadcasting Co and was later sold to Aaron Spelling's Spelling Entertainment in the 1990s, and by 2000, Viacom brought Spelling Entertainment and its assets, which included Worldvision Enterprises and Republic Pictures Corporation, as of this week in August 2019, Viacom and CBS re-emerged. but "NYPD" has yet to see any DVD release, but it's a sure bet that CBS TV Distribution owns the 1967-69 ABC/Talent Associates, Ltd TV series with 49 half-hour shows in color!

We are now so jaded because serious crimes happen every second in the big cities. Back then a liquor store robbery was a big deal. Now looting is not a crime in many Democrat controlled cities.
