To be fair, the transition from the Half Life 1 engine to the Half Life 2 engine greatly improved the ladder physics. You can see it when comparing the old Half Life to Black Mesa (even the 2012 freeware Source mod version). The Source engine has come a long way since 1998.

This project's been in the making ever since I finished the HEV Suit animation, so for two years or so now, but limitations of the original Source engine the original Source Filmmaker uses coupled with some technical problems forced me to scrap the project several times as it proved too much for the old engine to handle. That was pretty damn good. You should be really proud of yourself for completing your 2nd project in S2. It must have been tedious learning the new workflow of the software, but regardless, you nailed the animation for most part. However, if I have to nitpick few things it would definitely be the facial animation from the whole animation, but the rest is extremely well done. I feel like you tend to exaggerate the facial animation a lot, which ends up looking very uncanny at times IMO. I am terrible at giving proper examples, but yeah, something looked a little off from the face movements. I don't really have much to say aside from the facial animation, but yeah, I'm proud of you for finishing this project. Good to see you're still making content my brother.
I have seen other animators talking about how the half life: models for gordon and alyx aren't fully complete. The models in half life: alyx have their faces hidden in shadow, turned away from the player, or very far away meaning that valve didn't have to focus on making the faces animate well. This leaves the models with very weird facial flexes and makes them very hard to animate without looking uncanny. The youtuber Komegatze have a good video explaining it. So long story short, these models have worse facial flexes due to developers not putting more time on models that are only in some cutscenes and are in a controlled enviorment.
Holy crap this animation was GREAT! One thing I don't understand however is people thinking this is Fnaf related, They keep thinking "HL2" Stands for "Hidden Lore 2" But whatever. As a Half-Life fan at heart this is officially a *Certified Hood Classic* Also I love the fact that Freeman was so tired of being attacked by monsters that he just shot the Headcrab multiple times until he was sure that it was dead and then just went back to rest, That was hilarious.

Make the games cannonically the way the people traveling with him wished it would have happened(ie. "Hey, I made a video game about that time we fought a war with aliens... except I made Gordon quiet"). Make him a reluctant hero, a chatterbox that won't stop complaining about every little thing he has to do.
I became a major fan of your channel from the fnaf hidden lore videos and they were the main reason as to why I am subscribed to you now. But earlier this year in January I got my first pc and I started to play other valve games such as tf2 and portal. During the March spring sale I bought half life 2 and it changed my life forever. I never really watched your half life and left 4 dead stuff because I wasn’t as interested in it but now I can’t get enough of it. (It’s also cool rewatching the hidden lore episodes and seeing that a lot of the characters were from source games such as Peter is a black mesa security guard and Allison is Zoey from left 4 dead). Although I still am a fan of your fnaf content I have really grown to love and appreciate your half life content since I recently became a half life fan and I wish that more people would learn to appreciate your half life stuff and not just continuously ask for hidden lore 3 in the comments (even though they are both really good).
