That looks incredible! The 164 was my first car, and what a classic it was! When I get a job after college, I'm going to get one and cram some big-ass LS9 motor into it, and mod the hell out of it while at the same time, keep the classic exterior intact!!
@geobotello9 the front is original 1971.the rear is from 73 mod. doors from an ealier 240. the hole car is an real mix:) alot of Volvo.. but the "heart" is from chevy:)
Definitely a '72 164. New style rear lights, the sunken door handles and new style dash. Doesn't sound as sweet as the B30 either, but it might give a quicker ride ;-)
This is a glorious looking & brilliantly upgraded machine, major kudos Super, enjoy it safelly!! Plz let me know, what are the brands & dimensions of those killer rims & tires, & did you have to use spacers? And how many cm did you drop the car?
Hi there, awesome build! Looks amazing! What color is it? I am repainting my car and would love the same color. Could you share the color code written on the label in the engine bay?
Snggt. Jag hadde 3 stk Volvo 164 och bygde Alla opp til cm 350 och fick hjelp med växellåda. Besicktnimge skrøt och sa dette skulle Volvo gjort från början av, så hadde folket sparat tusenar M3brānsl
Good car but u woild want a petrol tanker to follow you I had arover 3.5 sallon v 8 drink petrol. Big beast lovely car but very jucy well you have two engines under bonnet
I know this was posted some time ago, but do you (or anyone else) know of any conversion kits that help drop a V8 into a 164? Would they be the same as the 240 kits? Thanks.
+John Wojewidka to put a Chevy v8 in a 164 is lot of job. the enginerom is build for slant six and not for a V-engine like 240 is build for. The engine must be placed long back in the engine room. you have to cut and weld in the bulkhead and the tunnel for transmission has to be bigger. the steeringbox has to be moved to the side to make space for cylinderheads. And he exsaustmaifoil has to be very very custum :) even the heater must be cut of . engine gas pump must be replace to electric type. No space for mekanik type.
+Super4537 Really appreciate the info - and the work that went into it. Love 164s, but I'm okay with 140s and 240s, too. Sounds like a much easier path. Currently, have a '63 122S with a B20, header, Pertronix, cam, T9 trans, and about to put new sport springs and all-new bushings from front to back. Next one could be the V8 240 :) Great work! Thanks.
@VolvoManV8 joda..e jo V8 som e tingen i gammel volvo..dettan e den første konverteringa.har en 86mod 240sedan med 305cid og en 75mod 264 med 350lt1:) pluss en volvo M70 med bmw v12 under hoodn:)
@Super4537 I guess that u took the chevy 350 engine cuz it was the cheapest engen u could get. And the old B30 engine is much cooler and has a great potetial that no one understands. Nice car!! Except the engine =P
it looks like a 240 with 164 frontpanel the windows balks is black looks like the 240 models and you have put in another engine in the car so its not looks so much original to me but its a nice car anyway
@e8e8e8e8e8e8e8e because this is how Volvo should have build the car back i the 60 :) fat'n'low with a 350 chevy under the hood ;) When you take this baby for a ride...you will understand...
a Chevy V8 is a perfect fit in a 164's big engine compartment! It's actually big enough to hide 100 African migrants that's trying to smuggle themselves into Spain while squeezed into a car engine LOL

What a gorgeous Volvo and made even better with a V8! Awesome custom!
Awesome car, nice paint job, those rims add a touch to the car,👍👍👍👍👍👍
Desde CHILE hay hombre que maravilla salud...
they had the best front ends of that Volvo era
I really dig this body style. Very cool car!
One of the best cars I've ever seen.
Really neat conversion. Love the richness of the colour.
Man that is a beautiful ride.
WoW! Lovely Color - Interior too beautiful - Rumbling Exhaust!
looks, performance, originality, hell nice car man
love the colour
Back in the 70s, my 164 was cushy and reliable, but yours is Nirvana. Fine work.
The 164, what a gorgeous vehicle, and with a V8 *Droooooool* gonna build me something like this one day:D
A fucking masterpiece!!!!
So cool. I miss those days.
georgeous!
perfect!
beautiful! very well done, you should put a set of volvo penta valve covers on the engine just for fun..
and make some 184 side badges!
Now it´s a Volvo 184 :)
Very nice and the right stance
The body style of the mid and late 60ies is very clean and ages well. Compare e.g. with BMW "neuer classe" , and Mercedes /8, which are equally clean.
Nice engine sound !
Awwwwsome!!!
@geobotello9 the front is original 1971.the rear is from 73 mod. doors from an ealier 240. the hole car is an real mix:) alot of Volvo.. but the "heart" is from chevy:)
офигенная вольва!!
Very nice!
nice car!!

Why would you want a common as dog shit ford mustang 'crap heap' when you could have this???
Very classy. I want one
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Helt jävla underbar bil du har ! :D
Geiles Teil .
Definitely a '72 164. New style rear lights, the sunken door handles and new style dash. Doesn't sound as sweet as the B30 either, but it might give a quicker ride ;-)

Nice nice
Wow
I have an LS 240 which is cool. But given chance I'd use this chassis anyway as far as aesthetics. Not sure on handling never drove a V8 164 lol
Is there any uppgrades to the frame?
Verry nice 164, nice color , is it a original volvo color?
@lillen300 i love the car;)
If I close my eyes, I'd swear it was a diesel... lol
Nicely done, but the rims... eh, not so sure they go with this car. Still, your engine looks A+. Good restoration job.
Sound you are hearing are makeing noise when the headlights are on and the door is open ;)
whats that buzzing in the background when door opened ?
Hi there, awesome build! Looks amazing! What color is it? I am repainting my car and would love the same color. Could you share the color code written on the label in the engine bay?
Volvo 175
@NorkiddExo witch details do you need?
no way:)
It's a 1973 model 164...
Beautiful under the hood. Does the engine run hot?
@C303ofSweden b30 is an great engine. but is an slant six.V8 is the real thing:-)
I would prefer the wonderful B30 with tripple webers giving like 225-240HK, does not make sense changing that for a V8
Photos?
Website where details are??
Did they ever make a 162?
What're those wheels called? That volvo looks clean AF, im working on a Amazon atm with a custom grille + tailfins on the rear fenders
The wheels are called Volvo Polaris.
IPD sells replicas of the original wheels in the US.

its a 71. The cars tail belongs to a 73 mod. doors from 240. Customcar :)
How much would you sell it for!
Ja den blei vel kjøpt ny der i 71 :)
Gearbox? Hopefully you removed the BW 'box.
@Super4537 I guess that u took the chevy 350 engine cuz it was the cheapest engen u could get. And the old B30 engine is much cooler and has a great potetial that no one understands. Nice car!! Except the engine =P

William Lansing Sweden still makes much better cars then the Us.
@@KAD010900 Not anymore, Volvo is allmost chinese now, there are good cars in the US too, i love the old ones, 60-70-80,'s
Christian Sanden volvo is perhaps owned by the chinese but, development research and leadership is swedish
@@KAD010900 Right, hope there will keep quality
Christian Sanden Trust me i’ll make sure of it, i work at production plant in Gothenburg ;)
