    If you start to do larger gigs I would suggest getting a person to help you with the lights control,equipment setup and teardown. Take your 260’s and put them in the back on very tall speaker stands. Get larger Chauvet movers preferably the 355z or something that has a “motorized zoom” and focus,put them in the front next to the booth, then you can spotlight all 4 corners. Pick up at least 2 Chauvet Wash FX Hex. These are can be adjusted for “warm white” so flesh tones look more natural and less “corpse” like for the first dance and video and can double as an incredible dance Party light. These are extremely bright and I DMX them down to less than 20% in most scenes. Uplights are a must in most venues otherwise most will look like a hospital. (except the rustic ones with candle string lights)and can add a great party show later in the night. If you want more advanced DMX control I use Luminair 4 on an iPad and it makes that DMX go crap look like a baby toy and is organized more like a true lighting console.

    New subscriber bro! I just ordered my mydmx go to use with my movers, so excited. Will be nice to give me easier control over switching to sotlight for dances and then scanners as well as have them go crazy during open dancefloor.

    Good video… Not saying your setup is ideal but it’s a start and you’ve got plenty of comments with recommendations for improvement. This helps me on my planning. Nice trussing. I have Global Truss that are 6’5” but they are a chore with transport.

    Hey what kind of trust do you have? I would also recommend you doing more prisms to cover more of the Vance floor.
    I have the older white Chauvet Intimidators 255irc at 60watt LED. Plus the intimidator Hybrid140sr. (Love them lights)
    Solo op here as well. I saw a great video on keeping the Novopro XL together. If that is what you use

      Hey OJ Loera, the truss system I have is the Trusst Glo Totem 2.0. You can find them on Sweetwater’s site here:
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GLOTotem20--trusst-glo-totem-2.0-white.
      Thanks for the advice on the prisim! I’ll try that this coming weekend and make a video on it!

    Honestly, that wasn't enough light on the dancefloor. Nice lights but not enough impact or movement, needed something else.

    • @SoireeSounds
      @SoireeSounds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re totally right on the movement and impact. I’m still familiarizing my self with the myDMXgo software and how to expand the lights reach. As far as brightness goes, I did have the dimmer at about 1/8 of the max power because these things are bright in person.
      I agree though. Need to work on the area that the lights will cover.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @SoireeSounds

      I saved one scene as a dance floor spot light (typically have to re-set/calibrate for each venue due to different layouts), I also like building up when a song is about to drop with the ! mark feature at the top of MyDMXGo live that begins by slowly strobing then gets quicker.

    • @SoireeSounds
      @SoireeSounds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other that that I typically just toggle between 3 different scenes, and adjust the speed on each depending on BPM of the song! Pretty quick and easy

    You need to add a wash light to color your floor. A pair of FX Wash lights would fill the void.

    You need 4 or 6 of these for a gig, they are small compact movers.
    Or just invest in 2 big movers and take that every where like the 360/355 or the 455/475 movers.

    • @SoireeSounds
      @SoireeSounds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @_incognito_ Correct, they are compact. For my first intelligent movers, they are perfect for a beginner. Adding two or four more movers would add around 15 minutes to setup and 15 to tear down, which is not idea for me.
      I would probably buy 2 bigger movers instead and keep the same totems.
      Thanks for the feedback! Everything helps!

    • @SoireeSounds

      Did you set the movers in totem mode? I also went into fixtures on MyDMXGo, and adjusted the area that the movers could go. I flipped the moveable area boxes upside down as well. Took me a while to get familiar with using them but it is so worth it - instant light show changed at your fingertips.

    • @SoireeSounds

      So this is my issue with the 260/360x, they have manual zooms. You have to go to the 375ZX to get motorized zoom. Is this lack of motorized zoom a HUGE shortcoming for this mover?

    Good point about the set up tear down... Everyone would love to be the next DJ Barr and lots seem to try to replicate it but what he does is more a production and takes a team and he pays staff . There is a one man show DJ and the other stuff. Is it possible to do it better than him and still be a one man army....yes but you might break your back. Its expensive to replicate and actually do it better tho...takes a bit more organising and different equipment. I actually think he gets it wrong has gone the wrong way and everyone seems to follow him and these other online dj reccomendations so most of you actually do get it wrong and all go for the same sort of dated scrim facade look buying equipment that is actually making your job harder and more expensive than it needs to be

    • @SoireeSounds

      Thanks for the comment. He certainly does run a full scale production business.
