He's doing it to protect his "world" (the place he grew in) and the people he loves. One time I saw a massive discussion on a youtube video back in the day when shit was going on in the manga (don't even remember the video honestly) and I simply asked to everyone who kept calling Eren evil "if your whole country wanted to kill every single one of your family members and anyone else you care about, and you knew the only way to prevent that was to kill everyone else, would you just lay down and let them kill you because you are only a very small percentage of the population, or will you do whats necessary to save those you love? At that point there is no good or evil, there is just a fight for survival."

Remember, Marley is the one that waged war on Paradis... Not saying that Eren is justified, but they're the ones that pushed Eren to do the thing they feared most would happen. Eren's speech at the end is a direct response to that threat to destroy everyone he cares about. It's chilling, and it gets so sad and horrifying from here.
remember that Eldian king has created the situation where they could not respond to Marlean threat in a timely manner.
Remember that every horror we've seen Paradis subjected to, they likely subjected other nations to for over a thousand years.

Even with Zeke's euthanasia plan, there's still wall titan after eldian goes extinct.
So what eren trying to do is to create a better international position for Paradis by killing their enemies in the continent, while eliminating the titan cursed after he died. well, He know the future before doing the rumbling, so maybe he can see the future that far includes he will killed by Mikasa. with 80% population gone, which means economic / military will reach its lowest, while Paradis have super rare resources so they can have a standing in international politics.

@@gyftedwon3209 the "tens of millions" might be an exageration. It's not like anyone would actually travel to Paradis, dig through a section of the walls and do the maths to realise "actually it's less than one million but still more than enough to destroy everyone".
I have waited so long eager to know what kind of soundtrack they would use for this…
It rumbled me to my core.
To think, if Marley had left Paradis alone for a few more years, this all could have been avoided. Eren wanted to join the Scouts since he was a kid; he likely would have joined as soon as he was old enough to leave home. He ends up getting killed with little fanfare in his first encounter with a Titan like way back in episode 5, and Marley’s plan to destroy Paradis goes unopposed.
@Michael De Santa doesn't change the fact that waiting 5-6 years would have spared them and the world an untold amount of suffering and destruction.
Would've just led to something different happening. Remember, Grisha still had the attack titan. I very much doubt he lets Eren get out there and die just like that.
the funny thing is they attacked eldia not out of fear. They wanted the founding titan and therefore the power of the rumbeling. So they would have done the same thing as erean just for the marleys.

And there isn't really anyone hed give it to other than eren. Not to mention erens mother wouldn't die as early, so eren would never hate titans as much as he did and have that drive. He still had dreams to be a scout, but it could go differently if he wasn't driven by his moms death. Just saying delaying probably would of just changed some stuff around, but the founder would still be in possession of non royal blood and still be a huge threat

honestly, there is no good or bad here, in this situation. the eldians were tyrants from the very beginning, and marley continued to perpetuate its hatred for eldia for generation after generation; both sides driven by war and conquest, only for eldia to renounce war and condemn their-selves to death, as they viewed it to be the only means of atoning for their sins. marley's boundless, unchecked propagation of hate for eldia's people along generations beyond those who caused them harm is what led to this result.
both sides in this war are not exempt of their sins, but, their means of atonement and retribution were narrow, single-minded; one side accepted hatred and indentured servitude, while the other accepted complacency and the penultimate retribution of death as a means of atoning for the sins of their ancestors, with neither side being given an opportunity or means to find another way to reconcile. it ended as it began: with war, hatred, and violence.
honestly when the eldians had their memories wiped at that point they weren't even the same people, they were a new generation that had no clue about their past or what marley even was and when they met marleyians "for the first time" they would've treated them normally if it wasn't for the marley dicks to start beef again

@@rogueascendant6611 Mainland Eldians became a new people with the next generation anyway, but they were "white guilted" into servitude, basically. Sasha's parents were at the highest level of thinking when they decided to stop the cycle of retribution and spared Gabi. Everyone else is just taking revenge after revenge with plenty of innocents on the side, increasing the number of people that have to take revenge again. Zeke's plan is also almost good, except he only wants to push Eldians into extinction. The rest of the people would just continue to murder each other with regular means.

Eren's the only protagonist that is the final boss of his own show, and his theme is as haunting as his final form. Khota Yamamoto is the Hans Zimmer of anime.
Anakin Skywalker? Daenerys Targaryen? Walter White? Thomas Shelby? Tony Soprano? Dolores Abernathy? Norman Bates? Jean Grey? Dexter? Hannibal? Joe Goldberg? Scarface? Joker? The last two technically don't have their own shows but you get the point.

I prefer the spectacle of Eren's Founding Titan transformation more, but the sheer, raw emotion and weight behind Gon's Adult transformation made my jaw drop and that's probably why I prefer it more. Also I like the visuals and the build-up to said transformation a lot more.

The strange thing was once the new generation of Eldiens figured the truth of everything, they refused to die and follow the sins of the past so instead they fight for their survival even if it means killing their opponents again, even if means breaking the old peace treaty that not worth crap because they are the ones who broke it in the first place
It is marley breaking the peace treaty first by sending Reiner, Annie, Bertolt to get founding titan in paradis. The past king fritz said never bothered eldian anymore or the titan will trampled their place, Eren did as what King Fritz said although King Fritz just want to threatened other race. If Marley didn't send them to Paradis, Grisha won't pass the attack titan to eren, he love his new family so he won't let eren died early.
