I've only just discovered this channel and would like to say a sincere thanks for such well presented videos. The commentary, historical & curent information along with the additional shots of the train itself are all excellent, making the videos a joy to watch. Thank you.
Hello from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil! Excellent video, very well produced and much informative. I am an enthusiast of British trains and railways since 1973. Thank you for sharing this work. All the best!
Saudades.
Having left the UK some 55 years ago, I am in awe at the progbress made by Network Rail and others. The commentary, history and geography lessons leave me absolutely gob smacked. And this cmes from from an ex pat who has not seen a train or had the opportunity to ride in one for at least FOUR years. Thanks Paul.
Very impressed. A very well made video, certainly to professional standards. Great commentary and external views make this a really interesting ride. A lovely way to spend the afternoon watching this.
Brilliant! Really well put together especially with all the fascinating information provided as well, subscriber! Look forward to any any new Films. Eddie🤓👍
Thanks for lovely scenery & professional narrated video, takes me back to my youth when I was last in your beautiful country, 26 years ago. Incidentally my late paternal grandparents were from Liverpool, I shall continue to listen carefully with your video. Greetings from New Zealand.😎👌👍
Birmingham New Street to Dudley Port was part of my commute for many years. And still I learned some things from this video. The production was great. Dudley Port low level is likely to have a new life as part of the Midland Metro extension
Excellent video, nice to see external views of the line and not just a cab ride, the information provided in the commentary is amazing, nice to see people going the extra mile to inform us of our heritage.
Nostalgic! Used New Street for many years travelling to Glasgow & Edinburgh. And I used to walk the Birmingham canal walkways frequently from home. I live abroad now but visit Birmingham often. You have kept this vid very informative. Great work. And your voice is fabulous!
Thanks great footage and loads of info! I lived very close to the line, between Gailey (worked at the Spread Eagle for a year) and Penkridge. We used to walk along the Huntington colliery line. As a kid I used to watch the 8F steam locos pulling dark red coaches (or was it freight) enveloped in thick clouds of smoke as I did the washing up.
I'm liking these shows I like the commentary because you point out different landmarks scenery used & disused railway lines . Like for example the old Dudley to Dudley railway line which goes on the parkhurst viaduct.
Thank you for a really awesome video. Cannot fault it except it is a shame that more couldn't be done to keep the front window clearer of the inevitable collection of squashed bugs. Thanks again.
Excellent work!!!! This is possibly a professional standard production, in as much that it is comparable with productions from the likes of Video 125. Have now subscribed. More of this please!
Awesome job. Very information, and aside from the Class 67 error (it was a Class 70) at Runcorn, you did a fantastic job with the research. Keep 'em coming!
I love this video. I'm from liverpool and the information in this is...well Amazing really I learned alot since I'm a student interested in becoming a train driver. Keep up the good work Eddie 👊☺️
Thank you for producing such a high quality video, so informative and interesting to watch. Especially thought the line footage and shots of the train passing was very clever and superbly edited. Looking forward to watching more of your videos if they re such to this high quality !!!
Remarkable video and comments. I'm always impressed by how the builders of those lines did a huge work, like it's shown int he last minutes of the trip. It's a kind of Piranesian urban landscape here…Only to be found in UK, I think
The original shopping centre above BHM was called The Pallasades prior to the station refurbishment and renamed Grand Central after it reopened. Part of the multistory car park above the station in Pallasades days got taken out to produced the more open, light main concourse area.
Very enjoyable, the commentary meant you did not miss anything by reading long texts. A small detail missing liverpool central station was mentioned but not liverpool exchange station.
….hmmmnn… people refer to the cuts made by “Beeching” (c 1963/4). The much maligned doctor didn’t clise anything - Alec Douglas-Home’s conservative and subsequently Harold Wilson’s labour governments did the hatchet job! Beeching only made recommendations based on line foot-fall & revenue.
So a road called Penny Lane. I do not have to tell you this famous road. That tune springs to mind even though I was not born in the 1960s. I once went to Liverpool in 2004 with my father on a Pendolino under the Virgin trains banner from London Euston when my sister studied in Liverpool.
Excellent video. i never get tired of watching the almost Gothic approach into Liverpool from Edge hill. all carved out by shovels and a bit of dynamite ..a tribute to Victorian Engineers.
@@peterwhitaker4038 correct. He was the first man to launch a locomotive into space. Actually rockets have been around as weapons since mediaeval Chinese times !
Like a couple of previous comments, I’ve recently stumbled across your channel. And, thank you for an easy to watch, informative and interesting video. Especially here in Australia, as I model BR, and small things like trackside views help to build something that’s reasonably accurate!
Excellent video, with nice and useful comments. Two very minor points: the branch doesn't go to Winsford & Over (CLC) but to Over & Wharton (LNWR). Also, the CLC included the Great Central as well as the Midland and Great Northern.
The Beatles will always remain synonymous with Liverpool and are still one THE most respected rock bands of all time with only in recent years losing their No 1 spot to Queen.
I think it's true to state that Britain's railway operating companies do not own the rolling stock. They lease them from from three leasing companies. So you can see why our railways are so rubbish because both structures are not even British but owned by nationally run by eg. French, German, Italian and even Japanese countries. That is another reason our train fares are so expensive as we subsidise those countries rail travel.
This is professional quality. I preferred this to video125 productions. I've signed this route for 18 months as a SC and I still learned a lot, especially between stops which we don't cover that much off in our training. Weird to think I could have been the SC on this trip, but the timing of the TFW 158 near Coseley suggests this was filmed on the 12:04, so I could have been the SC after wolverhampton as we swap SCs at wolverhampton on the 12:22 (couldn't see me on the platform though)
I could easily agree as this is of equitable video quality, excellent narrative and in contrast to Video 125 it shows the entire route - not with chunks edited out.
you pronounce Minshull as two separate words making it sound like mins hull when the word is one and when pronounced properly the end of the word sounds like shull hence Minshull Vernon
At least Paul narrates. Others, like 'Trains, Trains, Trains' (surely a clever, unusual, original sounding name), just show a cab view with no narration or subtitles whatsoever. And what's worse: cab views already done by others! How lazy and boring!😔
I've only just discovered this channel and would like to say a sincere thanks for such well presented videos. The commentary, historical & curent information along with the additional shots of the train itself are all excellent, making the videos a joy to watch. Thank you.

Brilliant! Usually videos like this have no sound so I really appreciate the commentary
A very enjoyable cab ride with excellent commentary.
Many thanks for sharing.

Very good, thanks for making this excellent video 👍
Great video and do like the history of the line. Look forward to future presentations.

A truly excellent, exceptional vid
Very nice video. And thanks for the very informative commentaries. Side shots are very appropriate. Thanks again.
Well presented and researched particularly with reference to canals and motorways. They are my main interest. The old and the new.
Excellent video, nice to see external views of the line and not just a cab ride, the information provided in the commentary is amazing, nice to see people going the extra mile to inform us of our heritage.
A splendidly informative and enjoyable video. It defeats me how drivers can stand that incessant buzzing sound!
Very enjoyable and informative, one of the best I have seen of cabrides
Excellent! Thank you!

I like the way you interspersed the cab view with exterior shots. Very professional video.

Very informative as always

Another error just before Crewe, was the mentioning of a mk2 carriage. When it was actually a mk3. Nevertheless, all very enjoyable to watch 👍
Spot-on sound, very exciting, great work

great video
Excellent video, and well produced. As others have said, it's quite similar to a Video125 production
Weekend movie sorted! ❤️
Should've shown an exterior shot of the arch viaduct at 1:11.

The tunnel North out of Birmingham, is known as Monument lane tunnel
Excellent video. i never get tired of watching the almost Gothic approach into Liverpool from Edge hill. all carved out by shovels and a bit of dynamite ..a tribute to Victorian Engineers.
All true.
Except dynamite wasn’t invented till 1867. They used black powder. Aka gunpowder. And a lot of man and horsepower.

Absolutely love it well done I can't fault it can you do one from Waterloo to Weymouth in Dorset but as for this its a big thumbs up 💯 percent
Hi Paul, i have a question about driving a train is how the drivers know whens the train arrive at a station?
Excellent video, with nice and useful comments. Two very minor points: the branch doesn't go to Winsford & Over (CLC) but to Over & Wharton (LNWR). Also, the CLC included the Great Central as well as the Midland and Great Northern.
Good but shame about the windscreen dirty
I like this Barron Hatherton.!🤣!
That's how to play the game with BR eh.!!!.
I would Love to see my Local Train Journey, Redditch to Four Oaks I think it is. It goes through Kings Norton and Selly Oak etc.
Great video. Can you please do Birmingham to Edinburgh/Glasgow or Birmingham to Newcastle next. Many thanks.
hi paul euer GB gefellt me mache weiter so goode movies
The Beatles will always remain synonymous with Liverpool and are still one THE most respected rock bands of all time with only in recent years losing their No 1 spot to Queen.
I grew up a stone’s throw from Dudley Port.
I can't believe the amount of rolling stock still in London Midland livery.
You make several references to Birmingham canal, but there are several different canals.
Interesting: all outside shots done 2-3 mos later.

I’m afraid you’re right. One of the reasons for the fragmentation was that any strike would only affect a small part of the overall system.

Great drivers eye view, how do you get narrators doing your videos because I know someone who can do some, don't mind me asking.
Thank you, I do the narrations myself now as I find it easier to do
@@train_paul9478 OK, keep on making good drivers eye views.

I second the comment below
why do they leave old rails in the centre of high speed trains surely that is dangerous?
👍🏻
you pronounce Minshull as two separate words making it sound like mins hull when the word is one and when pronounced properly the end of the word sounds like shull hence Minshull Vernon
15:09 TfW should be using 3 car bi-modal Stadler FLIRTS on this route. Instead they order crappy diesel CAF's.
It said a Class 67 at Runcorn. It was a Class 70 🤣
I recognised that mistake also 💩
Wednesbury is pronounced Wensbury, much like the day.
Sorry, but it was a class 70 at Runcorn, not a 67.🙄🤭. Great video otherwise.
Legal
Oh sorry I mean paul 😖
You sure like your dates Paul, Ha Ha .
Its a noisy cab!
