Jason is a real professional gentlemen of Microtech's knife realm. He really does know his products and what's involved in their manufacturing. Great upload!
I just bought my 3rd Socom Elite last week. Have been on a Microtech binge past 6 mos. 6 Mos ago I owned zero Microtechs, now I own 18. Collecting Microtechs has become my new hobby. Only one of those 18 is a Marfione Custom-- my Marfione Blued Damascus blade Combat Troodon-- that thing is a beauty. My EDC is always a Socom Elite these days.
You know Marfione ain't touched a single part of a custom. I'm sure he's earned the right to sit in his office and CAD the design and pick a color for those worker bees to build for him. Or maybe he just phones it in from the firing range. Haha.
he probably makes the first one and then sends it downstairs to get reproduced or what the guy above me said. he probably did make them all himself once but hes the boss now. so hard work pays off i guess.
Out of this whole series I really wanted to see the springs being made and installed. And, I also wanted to see the knife actually being assembled and tested/qc/packaging.
I have a UTX 85 and a Ultratech. I love these knifes, awesome craftsmanship I really want a Combat Troodon bad ,can’t say enough good things about microtech I tell everyone to get one. Beautiful knife
I think you have some cool jobs. I hope you get up with a bounce in your step as you get ready to go to work each day. Keep the videos coming. It feeds your fan base. The fans pays your bills.
Until I have seen this video I thought, a custom Marfione is made by Antony. Did I get this right, this is not true?? Its done by someone else in this facility?
Yes that is correct no more Tony making the knives that is the problem went you get to big few more years and they will start making the knives in china to get more profits
1:20 my dirac has those lines in it its grey handle, apocalyptic blade i got it from pvk vegas does that mean my dirac is a custom? cause i got it for the same price as a normal dirac and i haven't seen one like mine any where
Hopefully no one needs to warranty their knife in 12 years or so. I have a 2008 Ultratech, I called asking about paying them to replace the blade and broken main spring. They won't do it because it's too told. So apparently "lifetime" really means "until we change the geometry" or "until we decide it's too old". I distinctly buying a product with a lifetime warranty. I have other Microtechs that old and older that are still operating, so they're still within their lifetime. I've spent thousands on Microtech products and was about to spend more. However, I will NEVER purchase another one of their products again after the girl I talked to told said they can't help me.
Not impressed with microtech so far. Bought a microtech ultratech tactical had it for 2 days and the glass breaker ball fell off Yeah luckily the rest of the knife is hanging in there. When you spend $330 on a knife it shouldn't Start falling apart in 2 days
Hey Microtech, I'm trying to track down a marfione custom meteorite or abalone titanium troodon (preferably the meteorite). I'm dying to meet/talk to someone who has one they would be willing to part with and would really appreciate any ideas of where I could look or who I could talk to. Would he (anthony marfione) be willing to make a 1 off custom/prototype as I've seen him make before? How could I reach him? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I aspire to one day get my hands on one of his knives. :)
Rather buy 4 or 5 microtechs than 1 Deadlock...imho there is virtually NO blade play and come razor sharp with great edge retention..my Satin LUDT is being delivered today from Southern edges and cant wait. My first OTS all my other microtechs are OTF's..
Actually uh nope. G&G HAWK beats the pants off Microtech. $1,200 for a custom Microtech that still has an aluminum handle vs G&G Hawk with a titanium frame, carbon fiber scales, titanium clip, switch, stainless screws, quality blade, etc. You can also maintain your knife yourself without voiding the warranty. Can't beat that.
@SPAZE PARANOIDS !!!! ! 3 to 4 grand??? No my Deadlock was $1,200. Similar price point of some so called "custom" Microtech knives with ALUMINUM handles.
Dont mean to sound cynical because the easiest thing to be successful at in life is a critic, BUT.... for what a production CT cost they should be hand built
Seems way to pricey and hyped up for what they are. Not even "Custom" as people have really been lead on to believe. Unfortunately they are technically "Custom" but not by the man himself which is what people pay for.
Yepp a marfione custom that I'm willing to bet my life he didn't even touch or see that knife.. marfione is not doing that work it's done by someone else just in the marfione custom shop.. but yet called a marfione custom.. it's bullshit
@@ryanr4181 My point is you dont expect the brand name owner to build the piece, you are paying for the guarantee the knife or car has been put together professionally with a certain quality of material.

Beautiful knife but you’re never going to cut anything with that $5,000 mirror polished blade. Is there a point to that knife other than to just show off to your friends?

It is sad that America lost so much production because of crazy prices like this thats why manufacturers went overseas same thing for penny's on the dollar . Unbelievable what ever happened to making affordable good product no wow how much can I get from this if I baffle them with bullshit.

No you're right, it does not perform any better than a production dirsc delta. Its about the artistic value of the knife. All the unique hardware, clip, and especially the blade
It’s too bad the UTX70 I have lasted me a few months before it broke. Internal spring broke. It’s dead in the water and I noticed screws are completely loose. I unfortunately can not recommend that product to anyone and especially for that price. It’s a piece of junk sadly.
I live in Turkey, unfortunately the original microtech knives are not available in our country. I love these knives very much, but I don't have any. I would love to have a red microtech knife. I was blessed today when I landed on a website that had a tactical black M390 double edge Combat Troodon for sale. It was the last one they had.
microtech is one of the finest knife makers period! Gotta love it.

So do the counterfeiters.
Me too, looking for PRODUCTION differences not cosmetics. They talked about it, wanted to see it. PS sound was all over the place. Still subbed.
