Several years ago I bought this setter from a company in British Columbia called Western Woodlot. The setter was very fast, and well within the accuracy of most "new" bands. The problem was , when switching from one brand of blade to another brand of blade , ie: you're set-up for Woodmizer then run through Lennox,......two totally different set measurements, which meant ALOT of readjustment for the set anvils.
Currently waiting for my Cooks Dual Tooth Setter to show-up this week.

I have one of these. Just started figuring it out the other day. I do not have one of those gauges however. Where would i get one? What it did come with was a small measuring plate about 3x3". Am curious to know if yours did as well and if you know how to use it or should i just discard it?

So I’ve been looking at the cooks cat claw grinder and setter combo but I like the speed of that setter seems to be a seller in Maine on eBay with them for $1499

Their is a company out of British Colombia Canada that sells them! I bought one new and have had a bit of problems with the anvil centring itself back from left to rite and tried to contact the company over it but they didn't get back to me in the six month warranty time limit but it isn't a big deal I use my hand to centre it but will repair it myself! I considered buying a setter like Mr Roberts as his is more accurate as he can check the teeth he just did and all the teeth are set exactly but the problem is to buy it is price 1500 american and when converted and all the fees probably in the 2000 + dollar range. The cooks machine also is more time consuming than the dino Kind of a catch 22!
Back to the Dyno setter it is good but you will find with the different hardness of blades when someone brings you a few blades of one temper of harness to another in the same bunch you have to determine which blades your setting as when you set up for harder blades at twenty thousandths of a inch if you put a softer blade and hammer the tooth you get it setting the softer blade at forty of fifty thousandths and when blades are black hard to tell the difference. Their are other factors that come into play as well. Wait and see!
I have decided to build a gauge that can check three teeth at once so hammer all the teeth and then double check to see if all the teeth are where they suppose to be. I have the same tooth checker as you but when you sharpen for prophet you can't go and check every tooth individually it is too much. If you interested in knowing all the pros and cons about the setter contact me threw FB and I can give you all the info I have discovered to date with the little setter I am overall happy with mine!

Hi TC Sawmill thanks for the video. DinaSaw is now back up and running after it was closed for around 15 months.
A heads up you can change the right, left, straight configuration to left, right, straight by spinning the cam gear 180 degrees. Send me an email and I’ll forward you the manual.
    Andrew
