1000% agree with all of this. Thanks for keeping it real. So many other SEO youtubers are out here trying to claim that Google targeting "content at scale" is "unfair."
All of these things work. This is why Google claims it's going to crack down on them. For someone who started out talking about black hat tactics, you've gone full white hat on here. What happened to sharing all of the dirty secrets that all good SEOs use?
None of them work. Google is only telling you what it's already put into place. And further putting into place. Happy to discuss more BH tactics that work. But, stop listening to GURUs.
@@SEOtruths Link building, mass content creation, parasite SEO, spam, and expired domains are all alive and well in 2024. They will be after this update has completed, too. Are none of these things working for you and your agency?

If these spammy things weren't working then their statement wouldn't make any sense. The best you can say is that they don't work very well and after this update they are going to work even less.
AI generated content creates a post for one keyword phrase ... hand made content is trying to create content for multiple phrases. I say trying, I'm not sure how successful others are at their content. There may be some people in the crossfire who shouldn't have been. I'm referring to this quote given to search engine land: Google said this update has refined how it understands which webpages are “unhelpful, have a poor user experience or feel like they were created for search engines instead of people.” This “could include sites created primarily to match very specific search queries,” Google added.

Would you recommend removing "supporting content" blog posts that drive no traffic? eg these would have been set up to build topical authority with the aim of internally linking to category pages that you want to rank. I see this a lot with sites that use this tactic.
The true answer is that it's really hard to tell. Review that supportive content and determine its quality. If it addresses the Users question very quickly and with accuracy, then keep it. If not, consider updating it.
100% agree with you. These methods are old and redundant yet people still follow these practices. It's good that they are directly calling out this black hat tactics and now penalizing them. We may have a better and clean SERP.

Im using AI sometimes for my website for some English translation hope this wont effect my website, and my domain is registered since 1997 I hand registered it
Unfortunately, for translations, it will still get marked as AI. It's complicated. And I don't think Google is catching every edge case they're looking for (clearly).
So when you talk about expired diamonds, being nice. Good. You mean you can't buy an expired domain and then starting to rebuild it in a genuine way and I'm building pages for the existing bank links.
Define topical authority ... are we talking the same kind of topical authority that newspapers use when they need to interview a person who is an expert or authority for their newspaper, or new channel? Or, are we talking the kind of topical authority that a taxi driver would have because his last job was in that profession, but other than his resume has no authority that would give the newspaper a reason to publish his name as their goto person on the topic? I worked with a video production company a little over a decade ago, and the first type of topical authority worked back then ... managed through controversy to get the company name dropped by newspapers left and right as well as Obama's website. The site got a lot of traffic and sold a lot of videos.
@@Solution-Smith lm not talking about expertise. Lets say i have site about lakes, only 20% of posts about lakes are getting some traffic. Do i need to remove other 80, aren't they supporting topical map and authority? Or its all bs
