I'll be visiting Lagoon for the first time later this summer. My five most anticipated are: 1. Cannibal. This put Lagoon on the map. As a theme park and coaster enthusiast who visits parks all around the country, this one is super unique with the enclosed elevator lift, beyond vertical drop, and the double inline twist at the end. 2. Wicked. Mostly for the vertical launch. Looks very cool and some fun inversions. 3. Primordial. I love a good story coaster and that it's mixed with a shooting dark ride element. 4. Terroride. I always enjoy a classic haunted house type dark ride. From what I've heard, this one has the classic feel but feels modern due to the recent refurbishment. 5. Colossus. Classic Schwarzkopf coasters are always fun, forceful, and smooth.
Also, they don't paint the "White" Roller Coaster because it's unnecessary since they use treated wood nowadays. Additionally, it's easier to inspect without paint.
I’m a local and I have a season pass, so I get to go to Lagoon a lot. Here’s my list! 5. Spider Spider is so fun! I love the spinning part of it because it gives the ride so much character, and makes it much funner to ride. I also like how it’s never really calm. It’s always slightly intense, and throws you all over the place. 4. Air Race I love this ride! Although it sucks to wait for since it takes so long to stop, it’s great when you’re on it! It feels so weird getting hangtime and falling onto the restraint on your belly. It feels 10x scarier than a normal inversion. 3. Wicked I know, controversial placement. I LOVE the launch and the tower and the drop, but the rest f the ride is really boring. I always just want it to be over after the launch. The forces are great, and the anticipation makes me terrified. 2. Colossus the Fire Dragon I haven’t ridden this ride for a year, but I do remember it. The unexpected airtime you get on the drop is awesome! The loops are way intense, and so are the helixes. The chainlift always makes me get second thoughts. 1. Cannibal Cannibal is awesome! The line is so long, so it always gets you nervous about getting on the train. The elevator lift is so anticipating, how it takes so long, and also how it tilts! At the top, you want to get off, but you can’t. The drop has so much hangtime it’s crazy! The Lagoon roll is the same. Also the lap bar on your lap and not your waist just makes it so much better.
I did see a video from a ride employee that said they stopped spinning the tunnel because people would try to touch it and it became a liability issue.
5- terroride 4- Bombora 3- rattlesnake rapids 2- cannibal 1- draculas castle (it’s just so nostalgic for me, walking in the park on a crisp summer morning and taking a quick left, and taking a whiff of the old ride) always tradition for me to go on this ride first. Am yet to ride primordial so we’ll see how that adds up on the list
Back when I worked at lagoon several years ago people would ask what my favorite ride was and I would always ask to ride or to operate!? For me to ride: 1. Cannibal 2. Sky coaster 3. Spider 4. Jet star II 5. Colossus For me to operate: 1. Bulgy the whale 2. Sky coaster 3. Jet star II 4. The rocket 5. Double thunder race way( in the pit)
Current Lagoon employee, here to answer your questions: Dracula's Castle Tunnel: Yes! They did spin and they even has chicken wire in it at one point. They took that out and stopped having it spin due to people getting hurt while putting their fingers in the cracks and having hair caught. WRC: I don't remember that but a lot of people do. It is definitely something Lagoon would do. As for why they dont paint, it's due to the new wood they have for it. The full exterior part of the ride is not the original wood anymore and now uses wood that will last, whereas the old would was painted to keep it looking nice while it aged. Not saying none of the ride is original, because the track before the lift is original and same with other materials. Lagoon needs to expand: Yes they do! As a matter of fact, they have us employees make a concept of either an attraction, ride, eatery, etc. for a program we can do, Coaster Culture! There is a lot of pavilions that need gone. The big 3 pavillions should stay, but the smaller ones especially right behind Primordial should be taken out. I made a concept of a big dark ride in that back area, making it 3 floors and scarier than the other 2 combined! Crossing my fingers for it to happen! Favorite (Least to Best): WRC, Bombora, Bat, Terroride and Rattlesnake Rapids ( I'm not a huge fan of the Big 3, Cannibal, Wicked and Colossus. I do not like the wait times for Primordial and it ruins my experience) Have to agree with your least favorites! Made another concept that has 2 trains like The Bat that go in the same area that Sky Ride does, and going slow. You would feel more safe and it gets more people across in less time than Sky Ride does. Love your content! Hope to see you some time this season! 🎢
@@thexpproject My concept is a bit scarier than that lol. It raises you up to the top and goes through all levels of fear. As you go down, you get into this demon area and the ride ends with spike doors like in Terroride. Its why the placement really is important cause you don't want younger kids accidently getting onto it. Dark rides were made in amusement parks to get you out of that fear comfort zone, just like the thrill rides and coasters do. so it would be cool to see this become a reality
A lot to unbox there, so apologies if this gets lengthy. Yes hdryo luge, a blue and a black slide, the black one basking in the sun, water would get nearly burn your skin hot. Expansion, there is more untapped land than we give credit for, redesigning the parking will help a lot there, hence the new entrance. Remeber when they used to do a new ride every year? Agreed! They need a new one every 3 years or less. Single rider line on wicked, depends on the attendant if theyll let you go through the exit to access it. If its all qued up probbaly not, if its only at the stairs i didnt usually care if singles came through the exit. Decided i break this into comments for you.

Go to the ride when you first get to the park and they will give you available times. If you wait til later they can fill up! They will give you a return time receipt. I hope you have fun!!
Roller coaster may feel "rough", but actually it is very well taken care of. I wouldn't exactly call it rough as much I would bumpy. I only say that because roller coaster doesn't actually hurt you/ nor is it painful. And there are some pretty bad wooden coasters out there are so bad they give you a headache afterwards after.
Here’s my top 5: 1-Roller Coaster This ride is historic and tame yet intense. 2-Cannibal Truly a legendary and intense coaster. Truly put lagoon on the map. 3-RattleSnake Rapids Gets you drenched and perfect for summer. 4-Terroride Dorky yet scary. 5-Draculas Castle Even more dorky but less scary.
Terroride is more modern! The ride its self is technically older but it was refurbished in 2017. I prefer Dracula for the classic feel as well as its length compared to Terroride.
Completely agree! I love the refurb of Terroride! That first room looks really good! Imagine if they did a whole new dark ride at Lagoon with that quality.
My daughters top ride is by far the kids swings, and me and my fiance love the turn of the century, any guesses or expectations for when that might be back up and running this year?
I really feel like it will be up by frightmares time! They have a bunch of construction type trucks there. I show that in my last state of lagoon video, but I think we are close fingers crossed!
Sheep and goats! Also the sidewalk that goes underneath it had the "candy dispensors" of food for 25 cents to feed the sheep and goats. Also curious to know if you remember that spot to the right of Draculas Castle that's now like a wooden barn door wall, use to go through and into the arcade?
I agree that Cannibal made Lagoon a park worth frequenting now. Before that I would only come here on years when I didn’t get to go anywhere else and I was desperate for an amusement park, or if I had friends going. But since about 2018 I have gotten a season pass except for in 2020 because we all know what happened that year.
One jerkier wooden coaster I’ve been on than the old roller coaster here is the former Psyclone at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The Northridge earthquake in 1994 messed it up and it was never the same. It was so rough it literally beat me up. That coaster was demolished in 2007 and another wooden coaster, Apocalypse the ride stands in its place today. Concerning the two dark rides here, I think Terroride was around first if I’m not mistaken. It was updated a few years ago though. Dracula’s Castle needs an update next. I mean, half the gags don’t work anymore and very little of it has to do with Dracula anymore.

Top 5 1. Cannibal, its just so GOOOD! Smooth, fast, looping, thrilling. I agree with you sense you may fall out even though you know you wont. I think it comes from it only being a lap bar! Mr beast viewed it and was like eh, 200ft, 4 inversions, 72mph, beyond vertical drop, not intense. Its deceptive cuz name another coaster like that with only a lap bar! Most are over the shoulder and more. 2. Wicked! Its hard to beat that launch, the 0 G roll is great, but since they began slowing the cars more at the break point above the station, it makes the 2nd half rough, every corner/half pipe turn seems shakey and like your car is fighting to make it through. Question, have you ever experienced a ROLLBACK on wicked? I want to sooooo bad! 3. Air Race, unpopular opinion and honestly here on down the list is hard for me. But Air Race is often overlooked, i really love the weird g force sensations that you should keep going this way but centrifical force says this way, then you begin looping! Can have underwhelming experiences and its always got a broken down plane, but i love it. 4. Collossus, thst double loop, the drop, the nistalgic smell of the grease, the thought that it was part of a traveling circus, and people took it all apart and on trailers to set up elsewhere days later adds some sketchy scare levels. QUESTION, do you remember the headlights on the front of the trains? 5. Rocket, i prefer blastoff cuz similar to wicked that launch is fun plus its line goes faster and is always shorter it seems. HONORABLE MENTION: Samurai BEST RIDE IN THE PARK‐ Sky Coaster, you pay extra for it cuz of x venture zone, but it is 100% worth that extra money! Soooo good! BOTTOM 5 1. The BAT! It is so horrible, 1 train so slow dispatch and low numbers, it beats your head to death as its rough and shakey. QUESTION, do you remember the tv commercials when it was new? 🎶 everybodys doing the... b b b b BAT! overhyped as an inverted coaster 2. Sky Scraper (wheel) as you called it, like you said about sky ride, sitting there unrestrained, its un nerving, i wont jump, but ughhhh we shouldnt allow some people that dilemma imo. Idk that i have 3 more really but lets try in no particular order, -Sky Ride cuz same things you said precisely. -Jumping Dragon cuz when it goes backwards it gets me yuck! -Log Flume (unpopular opinion, and its not there anymore) YES! Never got wet, long lines and not entertaining imo. Dishonorable mention: Flying Aces, i like the ride, but there is always someone pushing the limits and bumping the slack of the cables shaking the whole ride! Really makes me uncomfortable that those cables will hold....😮

Worst rides! 1. Paratrooper -- spinning on top of spinning? No. no thank you. Load time is also nuts. 2. Screamer - no spinning! NO! 3. Carousel - Why do kids like spinning? 4 - Wild mouse - Actually, I would not like to fall off this ride, thanks. 5 - Jumping dragon - physically sick to watch this one. Maybe I shouldn't be a season pass holder.... LOL

-Sky Ride cuz same things you said precisely.
-Jumping Dragon cuz when it goes backwards it gets me yuck!
-Log Flume (unpopular opinion, and its not there anymore) YES! Never got wet, long lines and not entertaining imo.
Dishonorable mention: Flying Aces, i like the ride, but there is always someone pushing the limits and bumping the slack of the cables shaking the whole ride! Really makes me uncomfortable that those cables will hold....😮

Worst rides!
1. Paratrooper -- spinning on top of spinning? No. no thank you. Load time is also nuts.
2. Screamer - no spinning! NO!
3. Carousel - Why do kids like spinning?
4 - Wild mouse - Actually, I would not like to fall off this ride, thanks.
5 - Jumping dragon - physically sick to watch this one.
Maybe I shouldn't be a season pass holder.... LOL
