I really loved the way @DSP has highlighted the pain point of the society. On one side we worship females as "Lakshmi- the goddess of Wealth" but on the other side we do not even let them take their own financial decisions.

Excellent portrayal of hypocrisy in male dominated society.
Look at Malavika Hegde, wife of Siddharth Hegde founder of CCD, how she pulled out CCD from huge debt. Even though we find so many instances in our daily life, yet men feel Investments and Financial Management is their forte.

Time to look within ourselves before judging others. Change begins at home and yes I have seen this happen in the most intelligent-looking households too. We need to help daughters become strong and involve them rather than ignore them when it comes to investing. Great job DSP, in capturing the reality of India and in telling these stories

The portrayal of women's roles in finance has been beautifully captured, illustrating their resilience, intelligence, and leadership within a historically male-dominated field.

Blockbuster of an Ad film.. portrays how even today women are ignored and it's just a way of life for most!
The film certainly raises awareness towards this & hopefully goes beyond and brings about a change in this mindset.

At 40, after finishing my mba while working, I started digging deep into the investments and managing money. Nobody taught me how to do that before this. My father would take all the investing decisions himself. He never taught me any finance matter, but helped my brother with his investing when he started earning. Anyways, ladies, managing personal finance is not a rocket science, you just need to have awareness of different funding and basic finance. Thanks for bringing this up

No offense to anyone but to me this seemed a bit exaggerated. Mother was always involved in domestic life, could be unaware of available investments out there. So father took it all by himself. He respects her otherwise you won't find men having house under wife's name. Even our flat isn't in my mom's name. But as it's purchased after marriage, so Mom holds equal rights to it.
He educated her so she became independent fund manager. He ask her opinion on choice of men for marriage. Not many women are this much blessed. My father abandoned me when I was just 16. And how some of his responsibilities landed on my tiny shoulder. How my mom always blamed me for being abandoned. The trauma, anger, failures despite hardwork, now come & expect me to sweet talk 😒

Earn your own & do whatever you want with it - Spend, Save, Invest, Gamble. Whatever you like no one can Question it.

In any married life, all decisions have to be mutual, not one-sided, because both partners have to be on equal footing for a successful and happy family. After all, a successful family means equal sharing, working, sorrows, happiness et al. Both partners must use each other's field of specialization just like two good friends without gender bias and upmanship. Today, how can a daughter be less equal to a son -- a big misconception. A good consultation prior to any final decision is a good habit.

My wife is an educator and I am a CA and I do all the investing because I know it better. She manages the house because she does better. Every single investment and my net wealth is explained to her. Thus lets not make it a gender issue ( everyone seems to join the bandwagon) and relish it. My illiterate mother cherished the 11 FD taht my father left behind though she never new a word on investing.
