i like meiko's version of this, and this version.
in meiko's version, i notice that she breathes more, but in miku v4x's version, she doesn't.
however, in miku v4x's version, her sounds aren't so chopped up, and are more smooth.
so i think this is a tie.
but then again, it's sometimes not the quality of the vocaloid, it's how the person covering it tunes it.
it depends on the one who make vsqx cover :))

sol yea i think Vocaloid4 Miku deserves a spot on my Top25 list of favourite vocaloid songs, but Vocaloid4 Gumi (Senbonzakura) is one of the better ones (srsly, listen to it)

She sounds the most real out of them all.. as expected of our dearest Miku ;'D
I think if you listen to VY1V4 you might change your mind... Miku definitely isn't the most realistic Vocaloid. She wasn't even meant to sound realistic.
***** I've been using VY1V4 since recently and yeah,I can say that her voice is pretty realistic already.
Miku on the other hand, her V2 (imo) sounds robotic already. What my point is,Miku has definitely sound better with each update. The reason why these Vocaloids keep on having updates is to make them sound better and much more clear right? Hence, making them sound more close to "realistic".
Stekino Mai She doesn't sound human at all but omg her V4 is one of the best, theres something so special about it.
Sorry if this is inappropriate place to confess my personal issue, but it is Miku related so forgive me. And pls tell me if this rant sounds confusing because I'm Japanese and I don't get much opportunities to use this language anymore.
In my opinion, V2 Miku for about 3 years since her release date was one of the most "realistic" voice bank during that period (and I put that into quotations cuz her voice is that of an anime girl). At least her untuned raw voice does sound like that to me, and it is entirely possible that her flaws would start to surface once you try out more complex songs. I still believe that to this day, and I have listened and compared dozens of Vocaloid and UTAU voices. I tried to be up to date with all vocal synth technologies too. I did all of that research for about 7 years because I got paranoid and didn't want to become a bad delusional fan of Miku and wanted love her for "what she is".
Now I am much more calm than before, even though it still saddens me to hear stuff like "she wasn't meant to sound realistic", but I still want to settle this matter, and I want to do that by purchasing V2 version of Miku and her Append. Although I really don't know where to start, and trust me I did my research. It's not really confusing but it sounds like I need quite a few pieces of not-so-cheap pieces of softwares like DAW, Vocaloid mixer(?) and etc. I'm still a student so my budget is limited. I considered buying Miku V3 bundle, but not so sure how faithful they are to their previews version. I heard that Miku V3 Original didn't receive much changes, but even if I could believe it I still prefer the V2 original and appends due to purpose of my research, but don't know if I could afford all that.
realistic is not better. i dont like the realistic sound because it will never sound human. the more 'realistic' they get the more creepy and bad it ends up sounding, because it only gets close to human but never there. v2 was best. she's not supposed to sound like a human it's vocaloid not vocalsapien.

It sounds very nice, I like it much more than the original cover, but I still prefer the Meiko cover.
Now a problem I have here is that I notice how people are saying this cover will destroy Meiko's V3 cover.
Please, not another fight of this song about which of the two Vocaloid's cover sounds better. It was pretty silly to fight over it before, it will be more silly to fight about it again now.
Instead, let us just listen to how pretty this cover sounds. It makes a nice contrast to Meiko's cover, if someone tunes both covers together. I think it'll harmonize beautifully.
That's all I'm saying. Though Meiko is my favorite Vocaloid, I am not taking either side. Both Meiko V3 and Miku V4 cover of this song is beautiful. No need to argue, take sides, nada.

I guess that is because Miku V4 is a lot more smooth and natural than MEIKO V3.
But yes. I made lot of modifications.
Keep in mind that I have to adapt it to VOCALOID4, then to MIKU V4 beta, and now to MIKU V4X Solid.
Ah, wait.
Now I also used a lot of a EVEC function called "Pronunciation Extension Function".
That thing greatly improves transitions and pronunciation of consonants occasionally :D

Law The voice providers for both MEIKO and KAITO wouldn't agree to a V4 update. However, there is a high chance the two'll get a V5.
Actually, Crypton said back around the time they launched Miku's V4X that they WANT to give MEIKO and KAITO V4x updates, and had been talking with their voice providers to do so.
Doesn't mean we WILL get a V4x update for the two of them, but there's a chance we might.
And if we do, it may be a similar situation as to what happened with Luka, where they record all the original voice-files, which means Kaito and Meiko may not even sound the same afterwards.

In my opinion, I love both V3 MEIKO’s and V4X Miku’s covers! Miku does sound more smooth, but it is NOT the quality of the Voicebank nor the Vocaloid itself, it’s the person mixing it. The one who tuned and mixed MEIKO’s was beautiful, and this cover? This cover was equally amazing! Both are amazing covers, and I love both of them equally.

This is definitely better than the original, but I still prefer Meiko's. I don't know why. I guess it's in the emotion, but this is still an amazing improvement from the original. Keep up this amazing work! I wouldn't mind listening to this again. :)
