@@emmanuelfrancisratac7273 because the person he described with “chronic note taking” is literally me. I’m that person who tries so hard to write everything down that ends up not paying attention to the explanation, keeps asking the teacher to go back a slide, bothers people nearby to know what the teacher said, etc 😂
I do this in my bio class (not everything he says, but just about every interesting detail about the material) not because of me being desperate, it’s that I’m actually really interested in what the class is about. I think I have a passion for that type of thing
I like maths, I did this last time, failed - not because I'm bad at it - but I already understood the subject and didn't need to note much (apparently the teacher suddenly decided to grade everyone's notes)
damn i have CNT but one time on an assignment i tried summarizing and ended up missing something very important that was on the test 💀 now im scared to summarize
But idk what the main ideas are, so writing down everything can help me understand what to take out of it and see what information I need to relay in my next lesson 😅
And then theres my ss teacher who puts every tiny detail on the test (including the irrelevant ones that we didn’t even talk abt in class) so you feel forced to write down everything even if it’s irrelevant.
Oh, yes, I suffer from this. But, you know, at the lesson you understand, then you start homework and realise you don't understand. That's what notes are for.
Basically just memorize all the easy things that u can remember and always note down the things you can't or trying to understand and research them after the lecture.
Im my school, teachers had caught on to this. Some teachers put a complete ban on note-taking in class, which was kind of extreme. I'm grateful I caught myself doing this earlier on
My teacher MAKES us write down everything on the board so me and my classmates can’t really pay attention to the lesson. The red flag for my teacher was that not a lot of people turned in the test, and not that literal gifted students failed that test. A gifted student got a 35 I think, and the teacher still made everyone take the test and it effected EVERYONES grade.
same kinda I didn't really have any confusion in the exponents chapter in maths so I didn't really note much stuff then out of nowhere the math teacher decides she wants to grade the notes and I basically failed because of that even though I have a deep-ish understanding of exponents
Gohar Khan, your videos are very helpful and I find you very motivating. I only found you about 2 months ago, but you've really helped me a lot. Your intelligence guides me. Keep posting and I'll keep following. :)
And I'm here, don't know why suddenly I want a movie that show a person with CNT decease writing everytime his/her professor talk or something in psychology class or something that need to learn about someone emotion and that CNT person suddenly discover that his/her professor was a serial killer over some notes that he/she taking. Boom. Please make it.
I have a audio recording device and a visual recording device for lectures. They act as as a backup in case I miss any details. I usually have over 300 hours of audio as a full time student. I have found out that's is a ridiculous amount of information to go through. So what I do is label and organized as best as I can about a particular session to access at the end or the semester. I do try to actively listen and note take during a lecture but listening to it later in a more relax setting looking over my notes had help me greatly. Thank goodness for portable hard drives.
I found a trick which works nicely for me. I constantly write my wording of what the teacher said. If I forget a part like "The mitochondrial is" then I write [][], so I know to fill in the blank later to get proper notes, but end up still listening in class
One thing I do is in Google docs I use the voice text to write the whole lecture basically and then go back in and edit what I need and add my own notes too
I honestly do this in math class, I write done everything in the exact same way my teacher writes it however my math tests are open book so I can go back and use those notes during tests.
This works until the class where the professor puts questions on the exam about one-off side remarks that don’t really matter. But to be fair the grades aren’t what should be paramount but the knowledge itself
This is literally my deskmate. I only note things I don't know but she always asks me "what did he say?" and I'm like "idk💀" especially in English classes (it's my second language)
As soon as i got to middle school .. i stopped writing notes ..coz the teachers just teach from the textbooks .. so i have a highlighter, open the textbook of the subject and highlight points covered in class, new points covered would be writen in stickynotes
especially write down something if you know you've heard it before but you didn't remember it
People with memory loss be writing down everything 😂
@@alannafountain9892 💀

: Writes down everything
I am usually afraid of forgeting.
Thats a good one
I feel personally attacked by this video 😂
Why?
Don't, take it as a precious help

My teacher tells a whole story
Me: writing down one thing
And that's the title yes? 😅
“The”

the only reason i take note is because, writing something has more long term effect on the memory
@•Lxl' Pxstel• i just realized it myself 🗿
But idk what the main ideas are, so writing down everything can help me understand what to take out of it and see what information I need to relay in my next lesson 😅
Main idea is the topic they discuss it has a title too
Sameeee- I can’t find main ideas for anything 😭😭😭
Me who's so shy to ask the teacher to repeat themselves:
I'm 4 parallel universes ahead of you
POV: Your teacher says to write down everything exactly like theirs
Can relate
I don't think this happens often in high school or above, though.
@@ifyourereadingthisnevergiveupIn my school it does, I'm in 8th grade (beginning of highschool for us)

I just highlight the book. The teachers notes are always bad anyway.

Man I didn’t know I had cnt. Thx
I think is referred chronic stress disorder not chronic note taking as is CSD.

“the cure” *shows us adderall*
The "I'm not an artist" got me.
You ever see that one kid who writes down the whole dialogue
I honestly use my own "language" when I take notes. I basically abbreviate every word that appears more than 3 times.
Im my school, teachers had caught on to this. Some teachers put a complete ban on note-taking in class, which was kind of extreme. I'm grateful I caught myself doing this earlier on
"jot down the main points"
When the entire slide is basically a main point
“Take notes only when u don’t understand something”
*[note checks enters the room]*
when he was saying the symptoms ,it matched with me perfectly
People always do this and it holds the class back
I basically wrote everything the math teacher said and wrote that I forget to even understand the lesson and 3 weeks trying to figure it out
This is really good advice thanks for what your doing to help bump our grades up
This man is like a pill to my problems somtimes
As my math teacher says: "Learning is about paying attention and understanding, not furiously writing down notes."
“i’m not an artist” lmao
You give the best tips ever 😊
dude i last took a note from a lecture in middle school
“Relax and take notes” - biggie
POV: Elementary school through high school, you’ve never actually learned how to take concise yet informational notes.

It actually really helps me to write everything the teacher says (just in key phrases and stuff)

I have the opposite problem. I never take notes because I think I understand everything and then I have a hard time when I forget something
Dude wrote down "Hello class."
My life always gets easier because of you thx man
This is exactly how I feel when note taking. Like I’m writing down notes. But I forget to learn like
I found a trick which works nicely for me. I constantly write my wording of what the teacher said. If I forget a part like "The mitochondrial is" then I write [][], so I know to fill in the blank later to get proper notes, but end up still listening in class
relatable
i used to do this but then I just put important things about each toppic
If I write only some hard part of the notes that the teacher gives, I don't think I would be alive.
I've never willingly taken a note in my life
Can't relate. In high school but they still spoonfeed us with notes
Yep, this is what I did before. Thanks for reminding.
“Cnt” got me laughing 😂
I confirm CNT is deadly... For focus... Hope everyone overcomes it🥲
One thing I do is in Google docs I use the voice text to write the whole lecture basically and then go back in and edit what I need and add my own notes too

Why does this actually relate to me???

we have to write down everything here, most teachers check your notes 😭
this is exactly how i take my chemistry and biology notes! very simple yet so helpful
I swear this is my best friend, I sent it to him.
Hope it gets him to not bother me in class :)
If i would do that my history notebook wouldnt even exist
Gohar: "Take less notes"

I already write down main ideas, not because I want to succeed but because I’m lazy

my teacher speaks so fast I even forget to take notes thank you
Me who doesn't take notes:I don't have such weakness
sending this to the person I sat next to for a month rn
Taking down notes for me is how I stay focus in class. If not, I'll get distracted.
Me :writes down even the pictures
i do that because i know i can read-
also the person who sits next to me always does that, shes actually super annoying

Haven't made a single copy since class 8th cureently in college lol.

POV : you’re teacher talks in doctor language

and my teacher says "WHY ARENT YOU WRITING THIS DOWN Æ"
"What did she say"

i think the smart thing to do is to listen in class and afterwords ask the teacher to email th lecture slides to you so you. can takes notes later
