my thoughts exactly!! her wrapping up rapunzel in those canes is so creepy you can really feel her trapping her. the way she walks with the canes is also incredibly terrifying. scariest witch costume i’ve ever seen hands down
I can't even imagine being Rapunzel at the end there. That witch just hobbling after her at the end is freaking terrifying. Those were genuine screams of fear.
1:22 ok but why is no one commenting on how cute this stay with me was in a way, it sounds like the witch trying to calm rapunzel down after scaring her. hanna did an amazing job
What’s funny is I never realized why Rapunzel freaked out so much about her hair getting cut off and I can never make up a consistent answer since not every version has her in the tower durring this scene
I think personally it’s like losing a part of herself it’s another act of control the witch can hold over her head (literally) Rapunzel has so little control in her life that losing her hair is the last straw for her
It was staged at the open air theatre in Regent's Park, London. The entire production was filmed and it can be bought or rented online. I very much recommend giving it a watch, it's fantastic!
This Witch is actually fucking scary and not just a camp witch holy shit

The problem is that the witch is also a mother, and a mother first in this show.
This witch costume is one of my favourites love this production of into the woods
It's absolutely terrifying. I'm mesmerized
it goes well with the backstory of her mother's curse should she ever lose the beans, now she's old ugly and covered in vines!
Then they completely dropped the ball with her look later on. Mind blowing how good the first design was and equally how bad the latter looked.

How was Waddingham not nominated for an Olivier for this?!!!
She was nominated for other performances but didn't win and not nominated for this one.
*she's terrifying*

Good lord! Hannah Waddingham is a GODDESS!!!!!

Someone mentioned twins in this movie?
Yeh Rapunzel has twins after the Witch kicks her out in the wild
@@thomascharlton7394 oh wow! That’s interesting!
@@emilym8530 yeh, they are seen at the end of act 1, after this, being carried by Rapunzel where she finds her prince blinded.
Who put on this production? It’s very good
