Great video. What date did you go, we are due to go on my Birthday which is 25th April 2023. Do you hire the toboggans and was that amount of snow typical for the time of year
We were in Olden on the 26th April last year so should be plenty of snow on the ground. The toboggans are free to use, they’re just stacked up at the foot of the slopes. Enjoy 🛳👍🛷
Hi. You are the first people I have seen to do both excursions on the same day, my I ask how that fitted time wise as regards getting back to Iona? we are due to go mid August and would not want to miss either option if possible. Thanks in advance.
We were booked on the 9.30 troll car through P&O which arrived back around 12.45 we then booked tickets from the office on the quayside for the 1.30 bus to Loen Skylift which is only 10 minutes away. The bus driver told us what times the shuttle came back, times were linked to the times of the lift coming down, all very organised indeed. Hope you have a fabulous time, please watch our Iona seacation video as it has more of Iona than this Fjords series.
Great video, we are on Iona on 6th August sailing and all the trips via P&O to the Loen skylight are booked. Can I ask was the ticket you bought was it a combined ticket to include the bus and lift together? or just the bus transfer ticket?
yes the ticket purchased at the dock was transfer & skylift combined £138 for 2. P&O didn’t sell it on our trip as it was planned to be closed for maintenance, I except this will be cheaper.
Hello Really good video. Which tour is this called ? And also how much did you pay for it ? Looks amazing. We are due to sail on Iona in September . What month was your sailing. Just looking to see what type of clothing we will need to pack. Regards Therese
The trip was in April 22. The first trip was Briksdal Glacier by Troll Car which was £158 for 2 left at 9.30am. We arrived back just before 1pm. we booked Loen Skylift from the tourist center independently ( look to the right when you disembark the ship. Loen skylift included the coach transfer which leaves from the garage on the other side of the road, 2 minutes walk. This was £130 for 2 and not to be missed. Thanks for the nice comments about our video, much appreciated. 😄
