On this exact location used to be the "Double 66 Night Club". Started as a pizza warung, became a simple club in the early ninetees, and grown to one of the Top 5 best clubs in the world around 2000. By then it had a big pool and a bungy tower inside the open air club. On good nights there were more than 10.000 party goers and having a party until late after sunrise. It was all peace and love. Many famous people came to have fun there like Axel Rose and even Bono. Tiesto and some other top DJ's played gigs in their early years. This club was a legend and an icon. Before 1am it was always emtpy and than the crowds started to arrive. Oh man..those vibes.... But everything ends...and believe it ended not long after the bomb....
My first clubbing experience actually in double 6 nightclub lol. I was 16! (I can't go clubbing on Jakarta in that age but in Bali everything goes! Lol) Back then as I remember it seems double 6 was on the edge of tourist area in Bali. Nothing was beyond it.
Double 66 night club was the best!!! There used to be an Ibu who would walk around and ask people if they needed a drink. You would give her your money and she would go to the bar and come back with your drink. She was such a lovely lady. We used to stop and talk from time to time. The music there was fantastic too. The best of club and Trance music. One time they had a fashion event there and a local by the name of Michael (now lives in Germany) dressed up in an amazing blue wedding dress/gown for the finale. It was an amazing night. One of the best clubs on the planet ever. It was magical. I met so many wonderful people there, both locals and tourists from Europe and the UK. So sad that it no longer exists and no clubs like it anymore.
Yes, the nights at Double Six only kicked off after 1am, sometimes 2am, but then it would be absolutely packed until 6am. I went a couple of times after the bombing. It was no longer the place to go. Very quiet. No one going there anymore. Then it closed down. And so ended an era.
Yea, i remember going to the old Dbl 66 club in 1993, took a jeep through the bushes from Kuta to get there as Seminyak was still jungle. Very simple club and very easy going, nothing fancy but thats all we needed. And 50 Swedish students ))) Ps it was called Hackett Bungee jump i think... Right on beach
Great vlog Damian...have never stayed at the Double Six only because I find that area is overly busy and expensive...thanks for showing us the resort though as it does look very nice...love your drone work...alway great to watch...🛸🍻💯

Wow you guys are lucky staying in double six!! Looks like a beautiful hotel. I love that part of Seminyak on the beach front it’s so cool to have all the different places to sit and and have a beer watching life go by. ( many fond memories of that ) 🌴🌴🌴🌴

I ever requested to see Hotel Pelangi & Spa just right behind La Plancha. Just want to see whether they are doing better now than last.August when I stayed there
Its strange, the world share the same sun and I've seen sunsets all over but nothing as special and beautiful as in Bali. Used to drive all the way from Ubud to 66 or batu belig for sunsets and dinner before heading back up.
Nice to see this place. It's more for younger people I think. And the locals do not suffer from corona! Is dangerous if more infections were to occur, then Bali will be closed longer to tourists like us!
Looks like a great hotel, and a great wide beach front. (Or is it only at low tide like that?🤔) the room/bathroom setup is not My cup of tea though, but that's a personal thing I guess. Thanks for the video!
