@itsjoel hi i just watched your video and i liked it. Hopefully you do more classic car videos in the future. I am 6'1 and im wondering if know? If i could fit? Or not to buy one? And can you please make classic car videos but classic cars that can fit 6 feet people please.
Great video, Joel. I used to own a 1967, Series 1 2+2 which was almost identical to the one you drove (it was even the same colour) and your video brought back lots of very happy memories. (Those bonnet and boot latches were always a pain for me too!)
Love the bits where you rev it out and get your dad's reaction. I drove one a while back on a driving day thing and was blown away by it - I was scared of meeting and driving a hero, but what a machine! The race breeding really shows through in the drivetrain, loved the ride/handling set up, the ambience in the cabin, could have driven it all day and had a smile on my face the entire time. So modern and archaic at the same time, designed with British roads in mind.
Hi Joel your dad's face said it without words wow . When you put the foot down that sweet sound was awesome and brought back many memories gone by but you can never tire of that sound
Proper grail car, love the video. I'm 60 and remember seeing them out and about with my Dad and saying how fantastic they looked. Legend says they were responsible for the 70 mph limit being imposed on the then new motorways. Thanks Joel.
That's actually a Series 1.5, which you can tell from the larger uncovered headlights placed further forward, replacing the glass-covered ones from earlier models. But retaining the above bumper rear lights. It also features twin fans and ribbed cam covers. While many Series 1.5 models adopted rocker switches instead of the toggle switches found in Series 1 cars, this particular one retains the original switches. I believe they used leftover Series 1 parts during the transition to Series 2. It's a beautiful car!
People need to remember that back in the 1960's when the E Type was designed and graced our roads, the vast majority of people were thin. Fast forward sixty years and the vast majority are overweight or generally bigger. It is, the most beautiful car ever designed and built in not just my opinion.
fit modern shock absorbers that are adjustable and it handles like a dream , the gears IF the gearbox has the right oil in it the gears are very easy to get, even the steering if well oiled is nice and light. a well sorted E-type is a very nice thing to drive, it's just a lot of owners have no idea,
Lonely video. My dad has been a life long fan of the E Type and I rented one many years ago as a present for his sixtieth birthday. Also, good to see you back regularly - hope your mental health is ok
Good to hear some honest talk about the driving dynamics. So many people idolise these cars. But, before committing to a financial outlay of this size, you need to know it's really gonna do what you want.
No worries! Definitely not the first to have trouble getting it up under pressure!! Especially with cameras around 😂😆🤪 (fantastic video as always, what a car!!!!)
Better than I thought, to be honest. The sort of car I would like to drive for a day, but the antiquated driving , lack of brakes etc would soon tire for me.
Man, I haven't been to your channel in about a year but I'm liking what I see. Congrats on the marriage. Cool to hear your thoughts on an ugly and over appreciated car like the E-type. I grew up when these were just a pretty old car and the hardtops could be had for nothing.
I drove a DB6 and the biggest shock was the brakes. Nothing happens unless you really give some welly even then they were poor. It's very unnerving but what an experience
Had a 1968 Series 1.5 coupe, not as powerful with two carbs and that crossover manifold. Still great, if flawed, car. They rust though, and get very hot in summer. Ours was gunmetal over red, a beautiful thing. I'd really like to find a 1965ish Alfa GTV to restore, smaller, more practical than the Jaguar, yet very beautiful. Sadly, those rust badly too, not so many left.
Apart from having awful brakes, no power steering and rust 😂 Its a 65 year old car and things have improved massively since. It was peak in the 60s however.
Much prefer pulling thru rev range in a more leisurely rate and savouring the different engine characteristics with a 4 speed + overdrive type car than ludicrous modern propensity of continually adding more gears and weight + minimum 'change times' Cars such as this and the MGB, Stag etc are a delight to listen to - modern cars with 6-8 gears...really??!! Same with fitting lower and wider tyres - got so daft now, they even fit them to off roaders!! Then there is the ever increasing ride stiffness and lowering in ground clearance.... Dont start me on 'mine is faster than yours' mentality with the 'power struggle' - a 1000bhp / lb ft in road cars surrounded by millions of non motorsport vehicles with less than optimised drivers...... Car designs that ground to a halt as everyone trys to out brag each other with a lower CD - just look at how depressingly similar and unappealing car design has become 'Back in the day' we had Ford Anglias and Muiras ...at the same time.... Yesterdayyyy....seems so very .....

This thing is a wallpaper you can drive! It's like a fantasy car drawing, but made real. 14:45
Exactly. Great comment. The car is like a caricature
Amazing classic car !! all about the drive rather than the speed :) I remember sitting in one when i was about 10 even now - That was 45 Years ago !!
Great video and lovely car. Two thumbs wayyy up.

There’s no apostrophe
Holy crap absolutely love this, quite possibly my favorite car 🤩😍

Great vid, great car, and Rohan (owner) is a great enthusiast of several classics. Subscribe to his channel!
Thanks very much - I appreciate that
Love the sound!
Fab review! Make me want to go out and buy an old British classic!!
Do you think the experience would be even better in one that’s in good condition? A fully restored or just much better looked after?

What a beautiful soundtrack to this car, 1968? Series 1.5 I thinkmaybbe
No it's a '67. 1and a half
What a beautiful car
Great video thanks for sharing 👍..
The 2+2 just doesn't look quite right, the roofline looks far too tall.
Great video Joel. ❤
Great video Joel but why couldn’t you let your father have a drive of his dream car?????

Well nobody drives cars like that on winter. Keep them in garage and they wont rust geez... every car rusts because of salt
the E-type and the Austin Healey 3000 mk3 are the best ,and better than any German cars on the road.
Depends what 'best' means. Best at carrying a load? No. Best fuel efficiency? No. Best in terms of price? No. Best at towing? No.
Not got Apple Carlplay so how can they be?

Everyone seems to think that red is the best colour for these but at the time whites and yellows were much more popular...
i would love it for my dad if he was ali

2+2 ruins the look in my view.
Yeah it looks quite cartoonish
It's a series II. The earlier series had a 3.8 engine and never came as a 2+2.
Series 1 were also 4.2 after 1964
