I've been making natural shoot arrow shafts since the early 1950's and (naturally) your process is very similar to the one I've evolved. But I think I have a better straightening process involving rolling a softened shaft over a curved surface which can yield much better results with minimal work. Keep going...
Perfectly good example for a five minute video. Your draw length was seemingly not near a full draw of a 28 inch draw length bow, but making those arrows was suprisingly simple and easy, and if only all the saplings could have been used to be arrows, that would be much faster work for bulk-crafted- arrows.
Great job, the arrows look great. And wow, that fletching jig got me by surprise 😆, really creative. Do you think I can use that clip to put 4inch feathers on carbon arrows? So I can save money on fletching jig lol.
Beautiful arrows. I am curious why you don't straighten them before tapering the thickness and sanding them. I would think they would allow you to straighten them even more during the tapering and sanding.

Nice
Thank you sir 👊
You do such a neat job with simple tools!
I'm surprised you didn't need to season the wood for the arrow shafts.
Thank you! Do my best!
I've just dried them. Due to low thickness it doesn't take much
Good job. Try to make arrows from a wild rose, if this plant is in your area. This is the best primitive arrow material available in my region.
Thank you sir! Agree! I like it much more but I have no access to dog rose at the moment.
excellent - I wrap about 1 cm below the nocks to keep from splitting
That's a precious tip from you! Thanks!
Nice work as always!
Thank you sir, doing my best!
Exactly what I needed, TY. 👍

Thank you for suggestion! If only I had osage wood
@@DreamcraftBows if I get you three good Osage staves, will you make me a recurve for a swap?
@@crazypeoplearoundtheworld304 Can you ship to it Poland? I could do this

Thank you! Good point. It was one of my first attempts so the technique wasn't the best
Do you think knots might make.problems in arrows? I only can find ash but they all have branches
Yes, I'd rather avoid knots
Can you make a bow out of a composite wood material? Something like maple with sections of other woods?
I will think about it 👊
Terry curator you don't sell the hazel shafts by any chance do you?
No, unfortunately I don't 👊
How many time do you keep the arrows under the heat? And how much heat did you put?
I keep it heated until it gets bendy. You can use heat gun as me, but also open fire
Que madera es abellano
It's hazel (Corylus avellana)
How did you get the spine of your arrows do you have a spine tester?
I didn't get spined these arrows
Any use idea for the discarded candidates?
Thank you for your comment and ideas! I don't feel great about it to be honest and still learning how to keep my tools in a good shape
@@DreamcraftBows that... wasn't my question 😅
Has anyone tried their air fryer oven to slow dry arrow shaft or any part of the process ?
Well, that's an interesting idea 👍
Nice one I think all should have a bow handy never know
Super clean work man, cheers
Thanks brother glad you like it!
