Dharma Guru Shrii Shrii Ánandamurti
Shri Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar, known as Shrii Shrii Anandamurtijii in the spiritual warld, was the founder president of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, the world-wide organization propagating ideals and ideology given by the founder. He was born on Vaeshkhi Purnima day at Jamalpur in Bihar and lived His ideals from very childhood. His spiritual dimension was not known to the world when on shravani Purnima day He initiated His first disciple, Kalicharan Banerjee, an infamous dacoit, at Kashimitra Ghat in Kolkata. The life of this dacoit completely changed since initiation and he became the first monk of the new order of Avadhutas, Kalikananda Avadhuta.
Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar had to stop His education and take up a job in Jamalpur to support His family, in the same Railway Work Shop where His father, Shri Laxminarayan Sarkar was working and died an early death. While working in Railway workshop, He started initiating His colleagues and friends in spiritual practice. On 9th January 1955, He established Ananda Marga, when His disciples met at His residence in Jamalpur Railway Quarters and He blessed the first Dharma Maha Cakra.
As the new spiritual practice He initiated needed to spread with accel- erated speed, He created Grhii Acaryas from amongst His disciples and they started propagating and initiating. But then Grhiis had their limitations because of their family responsibilities and so to further accelerate the Pracar, the fully dedicated Whole time workers were created who later joined the order of Avadhutas. The Pracar of Ananda Marga spread all over India and just in a few years hundreds of Whole time workers joined the mission to spread the ideals of the Dharma Guru all over India and abroad.
As is explained in His ideology all virtuous deeds invite opposition and these impediments help in establishing the ideology. So Shrii Shrii Anandamurti and His organization had to go through incarceration by the immoral political powers that were then ruling the central Government and also at the hands of communists in Government of West Bengal. He was jailed in 1971, on trumped up murder charges, Ananda Marga organization was banned by the central Government in 1975 declaring a state of emergency and all active followers were put behind bars. But as clouds cannot overcast the sun for long, the truth prevailed. He was honourably acquitted of all charged by Patna High Court and after almost 7 years during which He was also poisoned (He fasted for more than 5 years and 4 months demanding judicial inquiry against this attempt to kill him), came out of jail on 2nd August 1978.
Then He shifted His HQs to Kolkata and although CPI (M) brutally killed 17 monks and nun of Ananda Marga in broad daylight on 30th April 1982 at Bijan Setu in Kolkata, He continued His work from Kolkata Headquarters and declared that communism is a dogma. His socio-economic theory Prout, found strong support and is being seen as an alternative to both the communism and capitalism.
Shrii Shrii Anandamurti gave solutions to all the problems humanity is facing both as individuals and collective body. He was for forming one human society and worked for that. Not only He brought clarity to spiritual concepts, gave a very scientific spiritual cult and asserted that without following the Yama and Niyaraa -the code of conduct, Sadhana, the psycho-spiritual process cannot be done. He made clear difference in Dharma and Religion, boldly declared that Dharma of the whole humanity is only one and cannot change with changes in time, place and person. Dharma unites, but religion divides. His socio-economic theory PROUT, based on neohumanistic values is being seen as panacea to present socio-economic ills.
He deliberated on all the problems faced by humanity and presented solutions in consonance with His ideology. He gave a new philosophy of Neohumanism, theory of Prama, spoke extensively on history, on river valley civilization, on lives of two Taraka Brahma Lord Shiva, whose life was always shrouded in mystery and also on Lord Krsna, on both aspects of His life, as Vraja-Krsna and Parthasarathi Krsna. On linguistics his contribution is unpar alleled, He also deliberated on art, literature (including children's literature), medicine, science and music composed 5018 devotional songs called Prabhat Samgiita; they are in 8 different languages (mostly in Bengali) and He had composed both lyric and melody melody of all these songs, which is a school of music in itself. There is hardly any subject connected with human life on which He did not express His ideas with only purpose of guiding the humanity; these guide- lines will continue to guide it for thousands of years.
