The reason i love modern family is because they dont have the fake laughing added in the show :)
Yeah... the only laughter when watching the show is from me... really laughing out loud because it is so funny...
Actually, at least in the past - e.g. in "Married... With Children", "Seinfeld" etc. - these weren't fake waves of laughter; they had an audience there and the laughter was so real that sometimes it made it hard for the actors to get to say their next line.
That's because others are sitcom.. they have real audience..

After Frasier ended I was fearful there would never be another comedy so smartly written with great characters and different subplots skillfully interwoven into each weekly show. The writing teams of Modern Family should be applauded. The actors are all excellent. I thank them all for giving me 30 minutes of pure enjoyment every week.

Ed always comes off as such an intelligent super cool and nice guy. I also do like that he is honest about his encounters and how he feels. A true legend.
Ed is one of the great comedic actors of this time. The character of Jay was so well written for him. He really seemed to enjoy Married with Children and Modern Family.
And he was equally brilliant playing a serious role in Miami Vice.

The non-recognition of celebrities happens every day. Back in 1975 I had coffee & pie at a restaurant counter with my mailman and Gene Hackman and didn't recognize either one until about 10 or 15 minutes (when they told me who they were). Well, the mailman recognized me but Hackman didn't know who I was. These day I recognize obscure actors on TV. Our perceptions can change through the years.

Britney Spears, tho a forever icon, was more popular in the 90's and Taylor swift is still famous but probably more popular 3-5 years ago I think. So the younger generations are sadly not getting to grow up on Britney, it's mainly adults that know of and remember her now. And Taylor is probably popular with teens or something idk I'm not really a huge fan of her so I can see some older people not being aware of her. Do you know who Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC is? Bring "Married With Children" back! The story could fit perfectly in today's environment. It's Al's last year at the shoe store before retirement & he is still miserable. Kelly & Bud move back home because of the bad economy. Of course Kelly has been married 4 times & Al's sporadically beating the shit out Kelly's ex-husbands. Bud is still a creep. Peggy still thinks she looks like 29, Jefferson & Marcy are still married but Jefferson has a girlfriend on the side & pretends to have a job.
To this day, no show topped MWC. It was the funniest, most creative show every. Brilliantly written & every actor was simply born for their role.
That would be an awesome comeback! Sadly, due to all the current political correctness today, it would be hard for the show to survive today... you know, MWC was all about political incorrectness: jokes on fat women, feminists, stereotypes, dumb blondes and so many others... which actually made that show so funny in the first place!
