It’s arguably a sci-fi versions of resident evil with much better spectacle and horror IMO. (Resident evil is still great, dead space is just next level)
The Dead Space series is my favorite, even the 3rd installment. Dead Space was before its time, which explains why it holds up so well today. Already waiting for the Dead Space 2 Remake.

My favorite horror franchise easily. Game is right around the corner. So pumped. I’m looking forward to having it darker when you reroute power. One of my nitpicks from the first game was that the weapons had flashlights on them, but you almost never needed them.

Guarantee this game will get near-unanimous perfect reviews across the board and be heralded as one of the best horror games ever made, just like in 2008 with the original Dead Space. The franchise is going to make a comeback, horror games are going to make a comeback and singleplayer-driven games as a whole will see a resurgence.
Horror games are already making a comeback, between this game, resident evil getting its grove back, callisto protocol, silent hill 2 remake, alone in the dark remake and to a lesser extent those the dark picture games, horror has been on the up for awhile
It seems that locking off certain rooms with supplies and alternate paths might be Motive's way of making it so that certain resources and options are unavailable to the player until the main story requires them to backtrack through older locations, making it so that there's a natural reason why the area is still stocked with the things you need to survive the enemy encounters without just artificially dropping new things or routes necessary for progress that weren't actually there before.
That is honestly a perfect comparison when describing this game, It compares to Preys (2016) Talos One Station where the player can determine where to go, albeit to a certain extent, collect clearances and passwords to back track and open up older parts of the map ie space station
It looks solid. My hope is it generates interest for a remake of 2, and a remake/reimagining of 3 that gives us a proper ending to the series. The downside is having to wait for both of those to get done to get any closure, when its already been a decade. Some of us have been waiting all this time.
Isaac talking wasn’t unnecessary, it’s mandatory for immersion, who goes through that horrific ordeal without uttering a single word, that always took me out of it.
Well, technically Gunner Wright was supposed to completely voice Issac in the first game, they were only able to get Issac's grunting and "pain noises" in before they had to release the game

Can't help but notice the suit doesn't get wet with the blood in the the beginning of the vid but seems to do a texture/mesh swap to a bloody suit before the blood even touches Isaac. Just kinda "bloops" into a bloody suit.

One of the most important things that set it apart is the reason why they decided to go open (hub) world, the Ai is controlled by director. This means that there will never be the same encounter twice across any playthrough.

As a huge Resident Evil Fan Dead Space is up there with being one of the most terrifying games I've ever played. The Sound design is immaculate.

@eddieliusa Callisto Protocol is a great game with fun gameplay. I’ve completed it twice and playing through a 3rd time.
Considering backtracking was already part of the original game as several locations are visited twice, it already has an organic way for exploration

This looks absolutely amazing. The gun that blew off all the flesh was awesome. Seeing the skeletons get up was cool as hell. Can't wait.

hopefully since there isn't that much being changed as to how the game functions, NG+ will be available at launch instead of the now industry standard of forcing players to wait several months to replay the game.
