agreed! nowhere else compares to Carnegie. had pastrami queen on my last visit and it was very good. thin slicing preferred, fat beads out of meat better.
Just by looking at the sandwich, it did not appear that good. I suspect there is a reason why they slice it so thin, relative to other pastrami delis in NYC. Stick with Sarge's in midtown
Not even close bro. If you are judging by the pastrami sandwiches, it’s Katz firmly at the top, then pastrami queen then second ave then sarges. All are good but pastrami queen is the closest to Katz.
One of the best places to eat Eastern European Foods in New York CIty. This one looks decent however I can suggest a better place for eating Pastrami in Europe.
Just so you know, 2nd Ave and Pastrami Queen are legitimate Jewish delis because they are actually certified Kosher. Katz's, Sarge's and most others are Jewish style delis, they are Jewish style deli's because they aren't certified Kosher. The meat that Pastrami Queen, 2nd Ave, Ben's Kosher, Liebman's and several others use are Kosher and supervised so that you can count on cleanliness and the highest possible standard for meat. As far as the soup, I am not sure what you're complaining about in terms of the portion size, you almost never see two Matzoh balls in the soup and the bowl looks like a pretty generous size. Also, I don't know why you think clear broth is the best for Matzoh Ball soup. The broth in my opinion, should be full of fresh herbs especially parsley, dill and pepper. When I make Matzoh Ball soup, it's full of fresh herbs and I serve it with chopped parsnip, carrot and celery. It's much heartier and in my opinion, better tasting soup. Also not sure why you think the egg cream is not healthy. It's made from pure chocolate syrup, it's not actually loaded with artificial syrup and there is no dairy in the egg cream. There actually couldn't be dairy because Kosher restaurants that serve meat cannot also serve dairy. It's probably a lot healthier than regular soda.

A New York egg cream is just milk, chocolate syrup (it really should be U-Bet brand syrup), and seltzer (carbonated) water. It contains no egg, nor cream. $26+ USD sandwich in Australian dollars is basically a $40 Australian dollar sandwich...... For two pieces of stale, dry looking bread, and slices of deli meat!?.....no butter, no mayo, no nothing!? You guys are nuts!
I buy a pound of pastrami or corned beef and a loaf of rye. It's way cheaper and you get multiple meals. Just got 22 Oz of pastrami at Costco . Top of the line Jewish deli. $13 .00 plus tax. That's at least 4 sandwiches I put it on a onion roll with mustard and Swiss. Best way to go.
In my experience, its definitely a good value for the price. But it's not in the same league as Katz. So you get what you pay for. This is no better than a supermarket package. But Katz should be half the price so it's a ripoff.
It’s reasonable that a restaurant/deli undersalts if a lot of their client/customer base is elderly and have to carefully monitor salt intake.

Edwards steakhouse, Jersey City, just ate there again this past weekend, soooo goooood
It's an interesting pastrami sandwich, i still think Katz's is better!
Burgers are on the menu btw
Brents delicatessen Northridge or Westlake village in California
Maybe you should have spontaneously went to Charles Pan-Fried Chicken.
However, the pickle looked good.
PLEASE try Pastrami Bistro in Garfield, NJ
I think you meant to say that the pastrami might have a melt in your mouth flavor, not a fall in your mouth flavor.
In my experience, its definitely a good value for the price. But it's not in the same league as Katz. So you get what you pay for. This is no better than a supermarket package. But Katz should be half the price so it's a ripoff.
when you go to a place like Katz, you get spoiled and pastrami is never quite the same anywhere else you get it....
I would definitely try that tongue sandwich
I was hoping we were going mattress shopping at Mattress Firm! LOL j/k
4:03 It says Burger On the Menu Just as your saying no Burgers
