    Looking forward to the next video.
    Can you do a video on checking engine mounts on an E39 and replacing bad ones? It looks like the engine mounts are shot on this engine.

    Night of the living BMW's, it's a horror story. You obviously have a ton of patience, take the car apart to the lifters would drive me crazy after being 95%done. I just did my first head gasket and had the new install blow on startup. Because the guy that offered to help me do this job didn't tell me the head bolts were stripped out! Tomorrow I'll be done again and I'm hoping no problems, you just never know with these cars though! I did everything myself this time, with the help of nathansDiygarage threw text messages and his videos! Thx again nathan

    Have you ever worked on a S62 motor dual vanos timing? I assume the procedure is the same with the exception of needing mirror images timing setting tools ? thanks

    Is it too hard to put the crank pin on an e46 with the intake manifold on? What parts do you recommend I take out to gain access to it?

    What you did to fix the problem looks like the problem is even worst and you never put video update how you fix that problem and tell us how the car is running now?

    Hey Nathan, where did you get the vanos jig? When I search for it I only get the cam jig.

    Hello Nathan :) I have a trouble code that say my intake timing is wrong . i changed the sensor and still the same :( no engine light ever come up. sometimes car runs great other it sounds like a cold 2-stroke engine and slow as f**k . You think i need do a engine timing like this or maybe rebuild my vaons unit (o-rings) ?

      Did you use a china sensor? those see not to work on these cars

    • @coddas87
      @coddas87 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is a new BMW sensor . Maybe should mention she runs great more often then bad , sometimes it takes longer to start about 2-4 seconds and thats when she don't run as she should and when i can read the trouble code. Car is a E46 325Ti 2001-09 about 80-85000 miles i guess(130000km).

    I think you might’ve done that wrong, when you put the two sprockets in the jigg, to align them with the chain. All the instructions I find, show the righthand sprocket with the tooth slot at the top, and the “fat side down”, but you had it at the bottom of the tool, and fat side up, pulled it and flipped it upside down. But again, that’s not what I see in BMW instruction books I find.

      Bentley manual states the notch to be up and to put the intake cam sprocket in that way aside those two pegs there is just one possible orientation ''fat side of intake sprocket to be facing down''
      Nathan please correct us if its the wrong way

      thank you, one more thing, once that i have adjusted the time, and puted back the vanos, if i move one of the camshafts.. does it has to be sincronized in the movement? or it depends compretely on the oil presure and when there is not oil presure they can be moved separately?. sorry man, no mech want to do the job here and i have to do everything by myself and you are very, god knows, awesome.
