    I have both the stamparatus and the Misti… I find the stamparatus is better quality product and and the many different features… love it!

    I’m so glad I found this video! I’d been using cardstock to fill the gap, but it kept moving on me. The magnetic sheets are a great idea and I can’t wait to try them. You probably just saved me $100!

    I have these 2 and really loved the stamparatus BUT we r memory keepers came out with the ADVANCED PRESS and it works better than both of these!!! Never thought I would say that!!! It was $21.99 on home shopping network (HSN) on their last craft day in May...the stamparatus gives alot of grief stamping in the corners, the we r memories stamps like a dream with a light touch!!! and from HSN it comes with 2 plates...,it has a white foam mat and with mint green lines on the mat and matching ones on both lids...it uses holes in the lids to go on a peg platform...I have even turneded the plates upside down an used them for stamping when I have images that go ontop of each other...the four corners have little rubber feet that give it a very soft touch like stamping on a cloud...I will continue using this we r memories unless I need things in a row or line,but I really,really love the we r memories the best!!!! hope you get a chance to try one!! I also saw them at scrapbook.com but they are $24.99 and come with only one lid, we r memories will be selling extra lids for $9.98 each in future...thank you for your video...

      P.S. there are no hinges on the advanced press to make you stamp on a hill ,its all flat...and they all stack nicely together when not using!!!

      @tammynickel4597  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow...what great information. I checked this out and found it interesting. Instead of a hinged door type system, they use pegs....but you could still go up and down or across on this one, it looks like. Glad you found one that is working well for you. Thank you for sharing this with us.

      I have the MK advanced press a while now, but I’m not really impressed with it. Yes, it has definitely nice features, but the holes and pins have some wiggleroom, so restamping doesn’t always go right… so now I’m looking for a press with the same features and the stamperatus looks if it is exactly where I’m looking for.

    To me, it sounds like Stampin’ Up! should make an adjustment to the mat. It should work perfectly. If so, it would be the best tool out there!!! Thanks so much for doing this video:)

    • @kimhund2782
      @kimhund2782 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree...Stampin' Up! should make an adjustment to the mat...and send the replacement to their customers. I had the same issue with the corner. I found it very frustrating!!! Not loving the Stamparatus so far. We shouldn't have to pay for magnets or anything else to get it to work properly in the corner. I do like that the Stamparatus doesn't have edges on all 4 sides and I like the 2 plates for layered stamping. I also like that they come out. However, I find that when the plate is installed it sort of comes down on an angle, thus creating the problem at the top/corner not stamping the image properly. I had no idea we were to keep away from that area.

  • @TheNumber1Aunt

    I just watched SU's video about the Stamparatus before I watched this one. They show that just adding extra pressure right on top of stamps placed in the corners or along the edges is all you have to do. I can't say that I have tried what they are suggesting yet, but I plan to after I watch a couple more videos. I do have both tools and I have not had my Stamparatus for 3 months yet. If I can't get it to stamp better with stamps that are closer to the edges, I will return it and repurchase it they come up with an improved version. I can continue to be happy with my MISTI (and Mini MISTI), just like I was before I heard about the Stamparatus =)
    Also, I have not read through all of the comments, so I don't know if anyone else has shared that it is possible to stamp paper that is larger than the 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 in the MISTI. If you are stamping right up to the edge of where the top closes, your paper may crease, but it is minimal. I have used it to stamp the inside of 5 x 7 cards that were open (so 10 x 7). If your paper is outside of the edges, and you are stamping at all toward the middle, it will work just like the edges it is hanging over aren't even there.
    Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions.

    Hi, i have been experiencing the very same issues. I was using the basket bunch set and found that it didnt matter where i positioned them they wouldnt stamp properly😔 i used additional layers and then found that the magnets were causing an issue...a bit of trial required per stamp sets i think....i got the misti corners specifically to help too. I made additional inserts to help as and when. The additional hinge benefits make it worth having. Thanks for taking the time out to make tutorial x

    Great video, thank you. I had already purchased the We R Memory Keepers Precision Press before learning about the Stamparatus and wish I'd waited. I can't afford to buy another but your tip about the magnetic sheet was genius and solves the problem that mine has of only having a 'textured' plastic surface to grip the paper (which it doesn't do at all). And I already have a package of those magnetic vent covers so I can experiment with it before committing to cutting it. Till now I've had to use washi tape to hold my cardstock in place. Thank you, without your video I wouldn't have thought of trying the magnetic sheet.

    You can make a grid on acetate to align your stamp if you have trouble with the visibility of the Stamparatus lines. I purchased a card sized one at Simon Says Stamps and have been using it with my Misti since it became available a year or so back. Also, the Misti corners butted up to the corner would work, but I like your solution, too. Thanks.

    The Misti grid comes etch on the lid now too. You can also get bar magnets if you wish for the Misti. I think it is a pain to keep flipping the lids on the SU one, so there for don't think the two lids are worth it. Plus you have to take at least one off if not both and that leaves room to have them crack. Nope I will stick with my Misti, it does everything I need it to do.

  • @rosycheek6709

    I have the first Tim Holtz version and it has the same issue with the corner using clear stamps. I only use clear stamps, so basically it never works properly. I shouldn't have to place everything away from the corner. I only have this one, and don't want to replace it, so I have to use cardboard underneath to bring the paper higher, and even then I still can't stamp in the very corner. I'm having trouble stamping two inches from the top even with two layers of card. Very frustrating!
    I realise my one has been removed from the market, but I don't have any option to get a free replacement because I ordered from overseas in order to get the thing!
    I love the idea of the two plates, and I also love the new WRMK one (I think it's called Precision Press Plus?) which has a plate for text and allows you to slot the included letter stamps in like a printing press! But I won't be buying another one until it meets every condition I have: magnetic, removable multiple plates, stamps anywhere perfectly, and no need for mats to use clear stamps!

    Thanks so much for making this video. I am waiting for delivery of the new Gina K Designs wreath builder template. I ordered it not realizing that my Mini Misti is too small to accommodate it. Gina created it to work in the Regular size Misti. It should work in the SU Stamparatus too right? I now have to buy one of the two to be able to use my new accessory lol.

    • @tammynickel4597
      @tammynickel4597  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes..it will work great in the Stamparatus. That is one of the beauties of the stamparatus is that there is no size limit since the bottom two sides are open to accommodate any size paper...and the stamping plates are about 7" square...so plenty big for almost any stamp :)

    • @Amywazwaz06
      @Amywazwaz06 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Even though this is an older video I was just about to plunk down the money to get a Misti because I am having no luck with my Stamperatus. I've tried putting my stamps in different areas and I can't get any polymer stamp to stamp completely with it. I've put a piece of cardboard under the foam mat, doesn't help either and I've tried several different thicknesses to no avail. I am completely discussed with my Stamperatus. It works fine for the most part on red rubber stamps and no pad underneath as directed by SU to do. I want to send it back to SU, but I got one of the first ones out and the time has lapsed with getting any kind of a refund back as they say to return within in three months and it's been longer than that. One other thing I have noticed is I have to be very careful when re-inking my stamp to make sure the plate is completely pressed down on the hinges before re-stamping because it moves out of the hinges when opening and closing them. My first stamp positioning tool was a We R, a cheap one I got at Tuesday Morning and to be frank it has worked with the polymer stamps much better for me than my Stamparatus. Long winded I know but I am going to try the magnetic sheets before I totally give up on it and before I purchase a Misti. I was happy to learn you can use the Creative Corners with the Stamparatus I just may purchase them. Thanks for your great coverage of both tools, it's very helpful as are other's comments.

    • @tammynickel4597
      @tammynickel4597  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments. The stamparatus isn't for everyone, and maybe something else would be better for you. I understand that Tim Holtz has a new one that doesn't use hinges..it uses pegs..and looks like it might work better for you. Best of luck to you :)

      @@tammynickel4597 boy I just saw this again, it's been two years! I have "made peace" with my Stamparatus and like using it for the red rubber cling stamps. Still I do not like it with the polymer stamps. I did purchase two Misti's and love them, perfect stamping every time regardless of what kind of stamp I am using. A girl can never have too many crafting tools, right?

    Thank you for explaining the corner not stamping correctly because it was lower in that corner. I've been looking everywhere to find out if the tolerance of mine was off because it had such a big gap in that corner. I like your solution and will follow it up as I have those magnetic sheets. The SU apparatus offers so many improvements over the MISTI that it's too bad that SU didn't totally have the lid matching the entire stamping bed like the MISTI does. Thanks again.

      I did several 4 step flowers last night using both sides of the door (as you suggested) and they were perfect. I had asked a local SU demonstrator for a solution to the "gap" (BTW I'm a Hobby SU demonstrator) and she had no idea about the issue and told me to call SU. So I went on a search for solutions and found yours. I especially like yours as with the magnetic sheets as shim there is a bonus having magnet hold better than on foam. I put a piece of grid paper (from MISTI) on top of shim. PERFECT! I look forward to more videos from you!

    The Misti has the grid lasered on - the first ones were printed on in pink. Also, I received 2 round magnets with mine. The. Misti corners are meant to be used in the corners ....

      Thank you for the update on their improvements. I was too excited and when they fist came out I had to buy one. I am so glad they made those improvements..and maybe the newer ones don't wiggle at all like mine. Glad they made those improvements. Thanks for letting me know. :)

      I am so glad they have done that. I bought mine when they 1st were introduced...so I am thrilled that they made that improvement. Thanks for sharing that with me. I didn't know of that improvement. :) I loved my misti for years and it has been my fav. stamping tool for years. :)

    So this tells us that the new Stamparatus needs a thicker magnetic pad from the manufacturer. I hope they see this.

    Question what is the size of your cardboard strip? And how does it work with strength to put the 3 vent covers down first then the mat that came with the stamp tool? Also in your opinion, if I already have the Misty is it worth ordering the new Stampin Up one?

      I am wondering the same...should I get the SU version? I have both the standard and the small MISTI, use both regularly, but think that the SU version would be a nice addition...I would hope that SU would make the "pad" adjustment before I order one. As to the cardboard strip, I would make several to fit various stamps. One size, I would think, does not fit all stamps. I have some gridded plastic cut to various widths to do what the cardboard is doing.

    Thank you for this comparison. I have the Misti but am considering also buying the Stamparatus and found this quite helpful. However, I am a bit puzzled by your comment that your Misti came with only 1 magnet. Mine came with 5. Is this something that may have changed since I purchased mine?

      Little Nickel Crafts They must have. I am also wondering about the 12x12 Misti but for me in Canada it is very costly. I do like the idea of the adjustable plates on the Stamparatus. Just too bad that you had to jig it a bit to get it to work properly.

    • @tammynickel4597
      @tammynickel4597  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. It would have been nice had they made the "pad" thicker or something..but at least it is an inexpensive fix and cheaper than the MIST (Although I loved my misti for years...but this just seams better and easier to transport if you go to alot of crops :) )

    You want to know the best stamping tool to buy? By far...the Tim Holtz Stamping platform by Tonic. Makes the MISTI look like a kid's toy, it is SO WELL MADE. You can use ANY size paper, even 12x12 and it is about $30.00. The bottom is magnetic, you get 2 magnets and you can easily stamp anywhere on your paper. I will never understand why anyone would by either an overpriced MISTI or an SU knockoff. Just go with the Tim Holtz platform...believe me you won't be sorry.

    I refuse to purchase a Misti because of the way the company (My Sweet Petunia) owner has treated the crafting community. Absolute greed and fear of competition - causing ALL other stamping platform creators to quit selling their products! Now Misti is the only choice due to her lawsuits. No thank you MSP/Misti. Very sad and disgusting. 😟
