Every single time I see one of your paintings I think "wow, this has to be her best one yet!" I love how simultaneously soft and loud your work is, it just scratches an itch in my brain and makes me want to get up and paint.
I always love your videos but really appreciate this one and hearing about your fostering. I just fostered kittens for the first time and said goodbye to the last one Monday & have been really sad about it (we were considering keeping him but I have a bunch of cats already and we found him the perfect home). Your video & words about fostering reminded me why we do it and how it's so special to be able to give them lots of love and find them the right people so we can continue to love more animals. Thank you for sharing it all along with your art process!!
That's the hardest part about fostering. And always remembering that your'e doing this for THEM and not for YOU. Now you have the space to save more kitties who may have otherwise had to have been put to sleep ❤❤❤
just over here weeping at you talking about fostering and loving on senior dogs. I have the softest, mushiest place in my heart for senior doggos 😭 the piece turned out INCREDIBLE, you have captured Pia's sweet likeness so wonderfully!!
Your use of color is always so dreamy 😌 and calming 🧖 and inspiring 💡. This piece is so beautiful (lovely pups 😊 I love hearing their adoption stories) and I'm in LOVE with all the colors and patterns and pieces that are filling up your wall. 🌈 And the textures in this video of the piece and the palette *chef's kiss*.
This warmed my heart so much. I had 2 whippets and I'm left with one senior one who I rescued. You've inspired me to paint him. Also I've been considering rescuing an elderly greyhound when my whippet leaves us and I'm loving hearing about you doing this. I'm just scared of the heartache but then knowing I could give so much love to the oldies is tempting ❤
Aw, Pia! She’s such a sweet girl and you captured her elegant profile so beautifully😍I’m loving the explosion of colors in the quilt pattern around her and the leaves are so lovely. I think greyhounds are so gorgeous, very sleek and so art deco! I dunno how anyone could think any dog is ugly, but especially a greyhound? Get your eyes checked, people!😂
I love your Greyhounds! They really are beautiful. I have a new granddog. Copper is now 6 months old and is a rescue puppy. Our daughter went to get him and they set her up as a foster until he reached 6 months and got fixed. (which happened last week) We've babysat him several times for a couple weeks each time. He's a mix between a Redbone Coonhound and a Dogo Argentino. What a combination! And we've fallen in love with him and his crazy personality! And it takes me a week to recover after keeping him for 2 weeks. It feels like having a toddler again.
Beauitful painitng! I have always loved your style and how you work with colors since deviantart days. You are so inspiring. The plants in your recent work have been a lovely touch! My rescue dog is a pitbull mix. We found her by chance at the last shelter we decided to go to. She was defeintly abused. When we met her we knew we had to take her home. She is the sweetest girl ever and just wants to be your best friend when she gets to know you. I think it is amazing that you guys have helped so many dogs! Anyways, keep up the lovely art. Can't wait to see the next beautiful thing you create.
Absolutely wonderful painting! Your use of color is always amazing and I'm enjoying your era of beautiful patterns. They make me so happy every time I see you do them. I also loved your story about all the dogs you fostered. It made me a bit emotional in a good way. I'm so glad to see animals, especially older animals, given so much love and care because I know they're often passed up for adoption in favor of the younger ones. I'm glad to see you give them extra attention. You have a beautiful soul, Sophie, thank you so much for sharing it with us and the dogs you foster.
Your work has been such a resource of inspiration for me over the last weeks, since I found your channel ❤ I feel like getting infected by your positive attitude and your use of colors and shapes just soothes my mind. Thank you so much, I honestly feel like watching you has made me a better artist ☺️
I💜watching you paint! 💜💜💜The colors are eye-popping, and I definitely want my eyes popped. The bright quilt shapes are always excellent, but the nasturtiums coiling around Pia tone things down in a nice way. Pia thus becomes a center of peace and stillness. It’s a lovely painting. We don’t have pets just now. My husband needed a break from many decades of pets. I was raised with pets. He was not. Strangely, he started feeding a couple of traveling cats. It’s so out of character for him to do that. I’ve been filling a water dish for all the creatures. The ground hog who ate some of my flowers drinks from the dish, as do the cats. Whoever is thirsty is welcome to fresh water here. 💜💜💜
Gorgeous painting!! My 1st job was looking after racing greyhounds and walking and feeding them, they are such amazing dogs! I have a pug and a rescue griffon and I really want to rescue a chihuahua one day and add to my tiny pack 😅
Eu amo o seu trabalho e seus vídeos me deixam feliz, não entendo muito inglês e as legendas são automáticas então consigo saber só um pouco o q você diz mas eu realmente me sinto muito confortável ouvindo e assistindo seus vídeos. ❤❤❤❤
The painting turned out so so beautiful! And I loved to hear about you fur babies, I had a greyhound before, he has called Zen and i got him when he has two years old, he was the best dog I ever had. Now I foster cats, and almost everytime is a ~fail~ cause end up in love and adopt them lol
Thats so lovely to hear that Zen was our most special dog ❤ I love that! Yay to foster failing all the time! hahah it's the best outcome in so many ways!
My family have had rescue greyhounds for the past few years! We currently have our third and he’s called King. He hadn’t raced much because he sprained his ankle (which I suppose is a good thing as it got him out of there!) and we drove 6 hours to go and pick him up from a rescue! He is the sweetest and happiest boy in the world. He loves playing, loves his many many toys but most importantly loves sleeping on human beds ✨ We love him and his wonky ears so much! Do your greyhounds teeth chatter when they are happy or excited? King sounds like a woodpecker most of the time 🥰 I love all dogs but greyhounds are truly special 💖 Your painting of Pia is beautiful and majestic just like her! ✨
LOVE your color palettes and I can definitely see the influence of quilts. Question - how do you decide to paint a pattern after the main image vs. when you did the negative space painting like your "home" painting. I really appreciate your verve when you are literally scrubbing paint onto the canvas. I can't wait to get to a place where I just charge in with such confidence. Gorgeous painting and doggo.
Hehe I really just make it up on the spot! It depends on my mood, that my inspirations are at the moment, what I have in front of me. There’s really not much planning involved 🙃 thank you x
have to love foster fails 🥰 I would love to foster a greyhound, but allergies :/ (we had to sadly put down our dog last year (not due to allergies! she was losing the use of her limbs and other age related problems 😭 11 years was not long enough) your painting is a great colourful tribute to your dog 😀
have to leave another comment because I made it to the end and you invited me to talk about my rescue pup and I can't pass up that opportunity!!! we have a rescue mutt named Parker and he is the the silliest boy, stage 10 clinger (he is absolutely obsessed with my partner) and he loves frisbees and belly rubs more than absolutely anything in the world. he has pretty intense anxiety/is very reactive so taking him out has always been a challenge but we wouldn't trade getting to be his parents for the world!
Every single time I see one of your paintings I think "wow, this has to be her best one yet!" I love how simultaneously soft and loud your work is, it just scratches an itch in my brain and makes me want to get up and paint.
Mmm! I LOVE that! Thank you so much ❤❤❤

I have rescue dogs. Mine are huskies. I just love them. I also do fostering for a husky rescue group.
Heck yeah! I love fosterers! ❤
What a lovely story about your dogs and the fostering you do. They’re lucky to have found their such a loving Mum.
❤❤❤

ahhh thank you xoxoxoox the oldies are the most beautiful, always!
So lovely to hear about you fostering, I would love to try it myself but I'm sure I would end up adopting far too many dogs haha 😂
Hahahha!! Go for it! It is the most amazing thing I've ever done! So challenging and rewarding all in one ❤❤❤ and if you adopt - that's a win!

EXACTLY!! hahah! They are PERFECT ❤
So Beautiful! 💜💕🧡 I currently don’t have a dog. But, when we were younger we always had German Shepherds.
I LOVE German Sheps! So beautiful!

I love how flat Pia's face is in the painting because you still know what the figure is by the profile alone and it's such a joy.
❤Thank you!! oxoxo
Haaaa I got so scared when you put the pain on ‘thistle be fun’ (I giggled at the pun :>) I didn’t realise it was a pallet!
hahha! That's my business name officially! It's not technically a palette, but I turned it into one! haha

Since Deviant art days?! Wow! Thank you for sticking around! I've evolved A LOT since then ❤❤❤ I LOVE pitbulls, big friendly loafs ❤ Big hugs to you!
This is now one of my favourite paintings of yours!
Hehehe !! Thank you ❤❤

This is such a beautiful painting! Hearing you talk about how much you love dogs was one of the sweetest things I've heard in a while 💓

Oh wow! I love Griffins!!! Such funny little aliens! haha!! Rescue all those funny little guys! What a dream!
I've recently discovered your channel and I'm so enjoying your approach to colour and art 😊 I have 2 wonderful cats but no dogs.

Pia has started chattering in the the last 6months! Her WHOLE body vibrates sometimes!
