the best cinematic of the videogame is call "Annie Origins" but i suggest not watch it first because its the best of all, actually the group of people who made the serie are the group who made the most Videogames cinematics as well, they've been working together for years

    @AsherJaskar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Just adding to the group statement that you can watch anything, while the universe is united, it's still its own space that references the rest. As someone who was deep in lore prior to Arcane there was very very little I knew going in and could predict throughout. I knew who the characters were but it still felt like i was seeing actors I admired playing new roles, they were familiar but also so different.
As for reccomending videos, watch all the music stuff, and honesty any of the videos from Riot themselves. The majority of the "impactful" lore is in the material you can read.

So, I'm going to start with my recommendation and then get into the heavy part of my post XD My favorite Arcane "analyst" has been Schnee. His video on Ekko really drove home that character as just... my favorite character of the entire show. Either way, what's good about him is that he speaks from the perspective of someone watching the show, not from a League lore-fiend first and foremost.
This episode is one that has... meant far more to me than I ever expected it to. A little over a year after this show came out, my wife and I were going through a lot of struggle and conflict, and when we finally got to the point where we agreed that we just needed to go our separate ways, Jinx's final line there of "I used to think that you could love me the way you did before, even though I'm different... but you changed, too" just... slammed into me like a ton of bricks. Not going to get into recriminations or politics with it, but... at the end of the day, neither one of us were really the person we thought the other person was. So, independent of whatever "changes" had taken place over the years, the real change was that we came to understand that neither one of us were the people we'd believed we were going into the relationship. Still, this scene is one that will always mean that little bit more to me as a result. Also... I still will never forgive them for _actually_ getting Sting to sing the final song... that was a dirty move on their part!

If you want "non spoiler" potential content Season Intros, Champion Teasers and Music videos are cool to watch, like "Get Jinxed", "Piltover and Zaun: True Genius", "Ekko: Seconds", "Target Practice: Caitlyn and Jayce", "Ekko's Arrival".
If you consider "common lol knowledge" like stuff people who play the game know spoilers, (like the teaser at the end of this episode/the season 2 teaser trailer character) then stick to the characters you know. It won't spoil anything, they are just fun. Though If you don't care, I would suggest looking up the season 2 trailer and watching both (Wild Rift and League of Legends) his Champion Trailers, because they're very cool.

To answer your question about what was hanging above Singed in that last scene....it's Vander's corpse. The theory is that he is going to become Warwick, but I am not too sure, since the series has deviated from LoL lore. There is an opportunity to subvert expectations next season or later.

You can watch Tales of Runeterra cinematics. I'm 99% sure they wont
't spoil you. They are just little cinematics that will give you some ideas about how the LoL universe is like. Also you can watch season cinematics. They mostly don't cover main story events, they are just fun showcases of the characters. You shouldn't worry about spoiling yourselves that much because even the people who follows the lore don't know everything that's going to happen in the coming season/s since the show covers the story differently than the actual lore. Of course we do know where some characters will end up and generally what happens in the universe but how the story gets there will be probably unique because it was the case in the first season. Characters like Silco, Vander, Sevika, Mel or Mel's mom were non-existant before the show. That means we -the people who follows League lore- are also as curious and as excited as you are for the second season!

    • @Brainth_1780

I second the Tales of Runeterra recommendation! They are really neat and give really good non-spoilery introductions to the different regions. Even the Piltover one is quite light on story spoilers, but I'd be okay with you skipping it since it's the other regions that are bound to pique your interest.

There are no spoilers in any of the cinematics. The story of arcane was new to 99% to all of us except the people that deep dive in lore and reading a lot of the storypages. If you react to some of the cinematics you will get amazing music with crazy animations and afaik you dont have to turn off the music because of copyright etc.
Just keep in mind that most of the cinematics promote something for the game. Skins, new champions, Esports, new season and so on.

What's crazy is that they really did have Jinx live up to her nickname every single time. She really did mess up every plan she was involved in throughout the series, causing problems for everybody around her. It never went right a single time.
And it all culminates in her destroying the chance for independence that Silco pushed so hard for. The ultimate screwup to cap off a show full of screwups.

Personally I would almost want Arcane to be more of an anthology series. This was the first story and followed this set of characters, but the next season could focus on new characters but dealing with the aftermath of this story. Smash cut to several years later, the war has been going on for a while now. The characters from this story could still be characters in the new story, but it’s no longer “their” story.

If you'd like to see what The Undercity looks like in live action, please watch the League of Legends *Worlds 2021 Show Open* musical performances. Also, if you'd like to see bonus scenes from Arcane that weren't included in the show, watch the *Imagine Dragons x J.I.D - Enemy* music video. Silco was a text book narcissist. People confuse this so-called love for Jinx as fatherly. He enslaved kids for his drug empire, threatened a daughter as blackmail to the sheriff, and threatened his minion in the aftermath of her son's death. Only he and his wants mattered. Powder (Jinx) was his cornerstone as a well of constant admiration to feed his behavior. Fathers protect and nurture, and he only used. He's known since he first began to "nurture" her what mental issues she's continuously endured, but did nothing to seek or help her overcome (yes, exactly what a father would do). She was his primary right-hand guardian, enforcer and weapons' smith to carry out his dream. His narcissistic behavior confused all he felt for her as some form of love. Chances were that he would have turned her over to fulfill his dream, but in his dying words, he knew exactly what to say cementing her persona as "Jinx" to keep his dream going.

great reaction, there is a lot of cool League content that could give you some ideas of what to expect on season 2, but idk what would be spoiler and ruin your experience, I would probably recommend videos like "Tales of Runeterra" in which parts of the world are shown and you can have a vibe of what to expect, or maybe individual character stories like "Annie:Origin" in which characters that probably won't to be in season 2 (for story and location reasons) are shown their story and is something we can maybe expect to see in like season 5 or in some spin-off series. Also, I dont think that League cinematics from the past (before 2024) will have much inpact in the future of Arcane, Riot is in a state where they are slowly Retconning the lore to adjust to Arcane being the main cannon.

They are pretty much the "afterthought" region, in a lot of ways. Almost insignificant compared to all the lower-tech, more medieval/early renaissance regions. I did notice they started giving more non-P&Z, non-Bilgewater champions guns, which is good, because it makes no sense for Piltover to have laser cannons while Demacian soldiers run around with spears and swords. Like, what the hell are you guys doing? One would think Noxus would've gone full rifle-bearing infantry by now, along with whatever magic they can get their hands on.
For a competitive MOBA it's fine, because hardly anyone cares about the lore, but in other mediums, the titanic tech discrepancy makes no sense.

    • @itsgonnabeokay9341

There is a reason for that. Noxus has access to gun power that is why they have guns (Although it's still limited. That is why most of the normal soldiers can't use it). Demacia on the other hand doesn't have any of that nor do they have the technology. They would still beat Piltover though. Their army is way more advanced in other areas.@@djx7134

I quite like that this episode shows how Vi doesn't really understand Jinx, even if she has good intentions. Telling her to remember Mylo, Clagger and Vander not realising that in her mind they are evil fantoms that haunted her all the years, quite the opposite from "Remember all the good times we had together!". Meanwhile Silco wanted her to forget about them and move on free from burdens of the past.

Vi only saw Jinx for a grand total of like 10 minutes since getting out, and maybe 2 of those were spent conversing on an even footing (ie, not strapped to a chair). Of course she couldn't understand. But Silco's the one who turned her into that creature. Could've sent her to the academy with all his drug money. She could've been the mafia princess in an ivory tower, instead of in the streets shooting people. Heimer would've loved to have another genius Zaunite under his wing. He was really proud of Viktor.
But Silco had other ideas. I think he perceived Jinx as the personification of Zaun's beautiful chaos, because he certainly didn't promote the well-being of the actual person. It's not as though Silco is above using Piltover when it's convenient. He marched right up to the sheriff's house. Could've kept an apartment there easily.

As she said he thinks it's the same as when Vander left him, from his point of view his way of coping ("become what they fear" speech) is a good one because it benefited him. He managed to survive, amass power, get closer to his goal. He would never have sent Jinx to Piltover because the reason he cares about her is that he sees himself in her, and going to Piltover is not something he'd want for himself. I definitely believe Silco had this weird idealization of Jinx as if she were, as you said, the personification of Zaun but also a personification of his ideal. He said it himself, for him recklessness, the will to do anything to achieve power is far better than intelligence or strength. Jinx doesn't pursue power but she has no boundaries and he admires that.
What's amazing about this show is the inevitability. All characters act according to the information they have, their past and the way their environment shaped them. The last episode highlights that; even if Vi had killed Cait, Jinx would never have become powder. To Vi understand Jinx, it'd have needed a completely different plot. To Silco being a good influence, it'd have needed an entirely different backstory. Even when Jinx chooses her chair, it sounds like fate. She didn't want to kill Silco, it was an accident, so that means that once again she jinxed everything. It's an emancipation and a tragedy.

@@jagartha Yes, he probably thought staying in Zaun while working as his enforcer (AKA, brute, bully, and assassin) was better for her, but only in the sense that he thinks being unhealthy and mentally decimated is the proper way to go through life. He had to realize that her mental health was completely shot. How could you not? It takes 3 whole minutes with the character from the start of episode 4 onward for the barely attentive viewer to understand that the girl is more miserable than ever before, barely hanging on by a thread. She literally tries to kill herself in episode 7. Even Silco had to know that this is not the sort of life anyone should want for themselves.
Hell, even if he hates Piltover, send her to a neighboring institution. It's not like Piltover has the only academic facilities around, even if it's the best. Surely there are other options. He seemed to make zero attempts to procure a better life for her. IRL, mobsters send their kids to Ivy League schools. Rarely do they strap them down with guns and explosives and point them toward the enemy.
BTW, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Silco's character writing. It makes perfect sense. I'm just saying that Silco's idea of love may be a lot different than the conventional IRL 21st century idea.

He says that 'this is over' as in the method of taking down Silco through violence and aggression. He doesn't want more bloodshed, which cmon, no one can see his side? Vander's words for Vi just didn't ever sink in, "no one wins in war" , "who are you willing to lose". The parallels of this scene and real life politics are eerily similar. But at least the fans are consistent in that the underprivileged characters are held to baby standards while the privileged can't do anything right.

I think its pretty safe do dip into stuff like cinematics from the game and reveals of its characters. Riot wants to turn Arcane into *the* unified canon of the game but they are still *really*, like *really really*, far away from effectively making that happen. The closest you would come to actual spoiler territory from the base lore of the game would be by specifically getting into the backstories and lore of Piltover/Zaun characters and even then there are some sizeable differences when it comes to some of them and others are relatively similar. The conflicts of the 2 regions are at the very least, very thematically similar to the one presented in the show, as far as i know, though some of the specifics are different, and they are also way more, i guess "extra" would be a close word to what im thinking of (?). What i mean is there's a significantly bigger presence of "larger than life" characters even in these 2 specific regions in the game itself, so naturally the conflict also adopts a more "fantastical" element to it, than the more grounded approach you will see in the show.
That being said, most of the cinematics onbly vaguely alude to some lore, and dont even quite fit into, at least new season cinematics, and they take the opportunity to show off the characters and what they are generally about in as spoiler free an environment as you can get. Think you guys would have a lot of fun reacting to those at least, if you ever felt like it.
Then if any character peaked your interest all you'd have to ask is "Are they from Piltover/Zaun" and if the answer is no, you are good to go, since Arcane is focused on the conflict between the 2 cities specifically. There is a hint of outside interference through the presence of Mel's mom, but i vaguely remember hearing the writers clarify that Arcane is still gona be mostly self contained in these 2 cities, the conflict between them and the characters that inhabit them being very much the *core* of the story they are telling.
TL;DR: Season cinematics are a really good place to start, as spoiler free an environment as possible to get to know some of the other characters that inhabit the world, maybe dip into specific character cinematics, hell even some of their soundtracks as well, some them will surprise you.

I personally think Mel is gone, which is another perfect reason to tie her mother in so much in the story beforehand. Really would give some strong motivations for Jayce and her mother going forward, no matter where this will take them.
Furthermore, I think Mel had a good character arc as she laid down her family ring to vote for peace for her true home Piltover, instead of supporting the warring ways of her old home Noxus. Where before she still dreamed of returning to Noxus (the motive of her paintings), having finally proven herself enough to be accepted back home and be accepted as a Merdada. She finally trust her merciful side as being correct.

@ayooo_saiwill I'm not talking about the imagine dragons music video. I'm talking about the get jinxed music video from 2013

Vi and Sevika's fight caused such a ruckus, beams of light exploding out of the goddamn bar, I'm surprised Jinx was the only one to show up and a crowd didn't form
Edit: Your reactions to Jinx's "I made her a snack" moment was PRICELESS

Vi is so right in the beginning of the episode, but really? After seeing that dead kid, you don't maybe want to... pivot strategies? Well, I guess she did since her next move was to go after Sevika and Silco directly instead of taking out more factories. Maybe she and Jayce should have talked about that instead of arguing!

Okay, one of their predictions at the end of the video almost gave me heart attack with the meta knowledge I have from game lore. If you know, you know, but best not to spoil it. That guess was scarily spot-on... Well, we'll see. It's not like anything's set in stone even with game knowledge because the show barely follows game canon.

Watch Still Here Cinematic and then watch Necrits Lore Breakdown of Still Here. It won’t effect Arcane at all but you’ll learn a ton about the Lore. Also watch BOTH Arcane Season 2 trailers. Those will help bring you up to speed with the rest of us. (There’s 2 now)

"That was not a very good kid to kill". IKR, they should have picked a different kid 😂. Like, I get what you're saying but the wording made it weird.

As much as everyone says it is one : the ending is not a cliffhanger.
We perfectly know what will happen. We know there will be war, we know Jinx is beyond saving, we know both Vi and Caitlyn will feel guilty for everything that happened, and most of all we know that the divide between Piltover and Zaun will never be greater than this.
It looks like a cliffhanger but it really leaves no room for interpretation. No matter who dies and who doesn't on the council. To me it was the perfect conclusion of the season, every character ended their arc : Powder fully transitionned into Jinx, Vi finally let the past behind her and opens up to the future, Mel breaks her Medarda status once and for all, Jayce goes from following people to have actual agency and fight for the peace he always wanted deep down.
It was fuckin brutal, but really good at the same time. Arcane is such a good show. Can't wait for season 2 (which is the final season by the way, they wrote the script of season 1 and 2 as one big script divided in 6 acts. If season 2 can touch season 1 level of quality, this is on track to be the best TV show ever created, and god knows I hate using superlatives)

The Slaughter of undercity citizens for protesting their independence due to the neglect and carelessness of the Overcity of Piltover created Vander and Silco. Vander realises what protest means (losing all whom you love), and Silco realises that if you can't win by being open and honest, it's time to get downright dirty to have every advantage and damn the consequences. It made The Council and Heimerdinger more and more blind to their own consequences and negligence, allowing corruption to seep in thanks to Silco's hold over Markus. Then, thanks to these factors and throwing Chase into the mix like gasoline to a forest fire, it went further and further until it ripped and ruined Vi and Powder. It made Jinx. Or, put = let the council burn and die (I shall only be concerned about Viktor, though, and I apologise if I skipped over some other characters as well).

If I could suggest a new series to watch I'd just LOVE to see your reaction to "The Apothecary Diaries" it's a wholesome and funny yet brutal anime set in 15th century China with cunning main character and many mysteries that I think you would love too
