I think with modern equipment today it's more debatable whether or not a power conditioner is needed. But I still use my custom made balanced power unit that I built some 25 years ago now..... Damn I'm gettin old! Balanced power is still cool, but is it necessary? Most of these power strip things are just a couple of coils and caps in series with a few MOV's for surge protection. About $15.00 worth of parts really, but a balanced transformer is a different animal entirely. Either way though, I would build a power conditioner, I would not buy one! Cheers 🍻

From the testing I have seen of main filters/conditioners is that they are much better described as "mains duplicators" essentially 99.99999% of what goes in comes out exactly the same. Even the ones that do manage to filter something only do it way too far from the audible spectrum to make any difference. But you know the golden ear brigade will say different but it always makes me smile when you discover they are usually aged in their late 60s and havent heard anything above 14kHz in 20 years and the hair carpet in their ears doesnt help much either.

I had the first Power Quest and it was and still is not a good product. I ended up buying a Furman Power Conditioner and got instant great results
