    WORLDBUILDING NOTES
I use this comment to explain references to older material or new ideas.
On the Peietorisi (th-cam.com/video/y-vJOtZuJ_g/w-d-xo.html): The Bashrisé thought of the Peietorisi as carcasses of the spirits that still held their Kila (in form of the Pelai) and they were ever in decay as the Kila dwindled. The burning happened when the Kila had finally lost the power to remain concentrated and diffused back into the world, thus producing a new opening for a new spirit to enter the world. The Peietorisi were located in places where the veil between the worlds was thin - they were spirit tombs and were thus treated with solemn respect. The burning was celebrated as a liberation of the spirit and when a new one formed their appearance was mourned but they were yet welcomed as new members of the community. Bashri villages formed near Peietorisi though in respectful distance.
