- Hi guys, this isn't a watch review but more of a how to with a watch I have reviewed before but had a lot of questions regarding the batteries.
This Fossil jr-8115 watch is from the big tic range, so they have a normal analog time feature and a digital display behind the hands, this means you need more than one battery.
You will need two for the display and one for the time keeping feature, for the time its a AG4 or 626 watch battery, but for the display you need two AG3 371 clock batteries. This goes for most of the big tics, so be it waves or flames or time in the digital display.
You will need some tools as well, something to remove the screw on back and a small flat head screw driver and maybe some pointy tweezers, plenty of light to see what you are doing and I wear magnifying glasses to help me see closer.
The original review where I made the mistake of saying it had 4 batteries instead of two,

Thank you so much for this video. I own one of this for over twenty years now and always been curious about how it looked inside and how the batteries were arranged. I been afraid of letting someone changing the batteries and breaking the watch. Everyone that worked on the watch was always surprised.
Awesome... my 20 year old watch is now tic tocking and flaming away. 😊 thank you for this video!
legend!!!!
Do you know where I can get a replacement gasket for the back of the watch?
Hi the only place i can think of in the UK is a company called cousins uk. they have gaskets on their web page and seem very good at watch part supplies. I have used them a couple of times.
I got the same watch but when I tried to replace the battery I took out the stem but now it won’t stay in place and it won’t tic
Ouch, thats not good at all, sometimes they can be put back in carefully and turned a little and they will lock in and work. I have a couple where the stem comes out all the way now but with careful handling when setting they are ok, but it would be an idea to get it looked at properly.
Just got the batteries replaced in mine, the digital display works, but doesn’t change over when I push the pusher. Any ideas how to fix that?
@@904SupremeDream not sure, something could be blocking the connection with the button inside the case maybe?
Size clock face?
Hi this is the link to the review th-cam.com/video/nNx40CZGLQk/w-d-xo.html all the details are there. Thanks
Had one new with tags, cracked the LED screen when attempting to pull the two batteries. Had the correct tools and everything. What a horrible design, who thought this was a good idea. ?
i know, its not the only watch with a daft design like that, casio do a good job in the g-shocks of making them oddly and easy to break when apart.
Hello do you know the size of the bracelet width ?
Hi the width is 20 mm, i do explain this in the review for the watch i did 7 years ago now. th-cam.com/video/nNx40CZGLQk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZXJA4D_7thpNZOpk
Thanks Gary, This is exactly what I needed-
What are the (2) battery sizes please
Ag4 and ag3 I listed them in the description and I mentioned it in the video.
Hello, will the watch hand work without the battery of the lcd screen?
Hi, yes it seems too as the face just goes darker with no movement
@@rninnimThank you so much sir
Is it same batteries use for my Fossil JR8097?
Hi I can't say for definite as this is the only big tic I have, but I most cases they keep the same.
Yes same batteries
I really wanna know when was this watch made?
Hi, i have taken it apart and still cant see a date on it sorry, best guess is late nineties or early 2000s
I bought mine new in 2004
